Instagram has chosen to limit content related to government and elections. What’s the reason behind this?
From The Daily Beast. Instagram users were blindsided by the platform’s sneaky rollout of a new content-filtering tool limiting political content—a setting the social-media giant made default for many accounts without ever directly informing users.
Outraged users took to X to express shock on Friday, accusing Instagram of actively censoring and suppressing political discussion in a year already rife with political tensions. …

People across the political spectrum seemed to believe the change was meant to target their own views: Right-leaning users suggested Meta is attempting to filter “conservative speech only,” while left-leaning users suggested the company is looking to censor pro-Palestinian content related to Israel’s military campaign in Gaza.
The feature … doesn’t hide content from accounts that a user already follows. However, it limits suggested content deemed “likely to mention governments, elections, or social topics that affect a large group of people and/or society at large.” …

Look at who owns it, runs it & their board. And that explains it…without having to explain it. When you look at their background, their “party” affiliation, their political donations or who the various people support, etc. – that’s what tells us the “substance” of who they are & what they believe in. It doesn’t matter what they “tell us” or what public statements (or lack thereof) they make. As the old saying goes, “the proof is in the pudding”. Sadly, for those in control at Instagram – the pudding has the usual ‘mold’ growing in it.
What is suspect is that Instagram did not announce decision, offer an opt in or opt out option or give reason for the decision.
The question which stirs my spirit is, “who are they that own the license/app and who do they believe in”?
Heavenly Father who goes before, behind, beside, above and below our steps, we thank You for ordaining us with Your Wisdom and Counsel.
Father, social media is a quagmire that is used for good and evil – evil that has been exposed in the 2020 elections, fake news, transing lies, and so many of issues of this age. Savior of our Soul –
Open eyes of every man, woman and child so that they may see the “liar behind the lie” so that they are propelled to You, the One True God. If they choose You not, their consequences are already written.
Holy Spirit, Sanctify us in the Truth and impress us that God’s rules reign supreme. Keep our perseverance fresh and anew each day, and our preservation under Your Mighty Power.
In the Holy, Anointed, whom all authority on Earth is given, Jesus the Christ.

Anything that can minimize election interference, whether in social media, or elsewhere in our nation, needs to be put into place, before the elections take place. Lord Jesus, you know how crucial and important it is for election integrity to exist in our nation. Please, by your grace, make a way where there seems to be no way. Our nation’s future is at stake. I bind all the evil spirits of deception and manipulation that were prevalent in the 2020 election. I loose spirits of honesty, integrity, and openness to our election process. Thank You, Jesus.
