HURRICANE IRMA: IS GOD TRYING TO TELL US SOMETHING?

As Houston dries out and another hurricane is barreling its way toward the U.S., I have heard many people ask: Is God trying to tell us something? I believe the answer to that question is yes. Absolutely. He is trying to tell us something! In fact, He is trying to tell us many things:
- Everything is broken. When sin entered creation through the willful decision of Adam and Eve, nothing escaped its effects. We often forget this. Original sin did not only influence humans. Everything in creation was affected; including nature itself. We should not presume that a natural disaster is a punishment from God, just as we should not presume that cancer is a punishment from God. Both are tragic implications of the fall of man. Not only that, but also we have an adversary who uses everything possible to “…steal and kill and destroy.” (John 10:10) God has given us promises from scripture to rely on in prayer when we go through difficult times. - We need a Savior. We need a Savior for eternity, and we need a Savior for now. The Psalmist reminds us, “O, Lord, do not forsake me; do not be far from me, O my God. Come quickly to help me, O Lord my Savior.” (Psalm 38:21-22) In the United States, it is often easy to live our lives as if we do not depend on God. We can forget how fragile our lives really are. Hurricane Harvey reminded all of us of our powerlessness. People responded in an outpouring of prayer. The tragedy took our attention off bitter arguments to focus instead on caring for others, and on our need for God.
- We must pray. When the disciples’ boat was about to sink in a fierce storm, they cried out, “Lord, save us! We’re going to drown!” (Matthew 8:25) Jesus answered this prayer of desperation by calming the wind and the waves. The disciples responded with an incredible affirmation of faith: “’What kind of man is this? Even the winds and the waves obey him.’” (Matthew 8:27) Although we cannot control the storms of life, we do not have to sit idly by and watch the destruction occur. God has given us tools of prayer and intercession. Powerless to personally affect the outcome of our circumstances, we cry out to God. We would not passively watch cancer ravage one of our loved ones; no, we pray. We pray for their health and their strength. We pray with desperation and passion. We pray, believing in the power of God and asking Him to act. Neither should we sit idly by and watch Hurricane Irma wreak destruction. We should cry out to God to save us, believing in His power and asking Him to act.
- God is merciful. Some have said that there is no coincidence in these two massive storms hitting the U.S., that we are being punished for national sins. Others say that God’s hand of protection has been removed because our nation has not walked in His ways. As a nation we have legally allowed 60,000,000 babies to be murdered. We have legally redefined marriage, a covenant created by God. We are even redefining male and female. As tragic as Harvey was and Irma may be, why don’t we have more natural disasters? We certainly deserve them. (“I will take vengeance in anger and wrath on nations that have not obeyed me.” Micah 5:15) But God is merciful, “not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.” (2 Peter 3:9)
Is God saying something to us in the storm? Absolutely! Everything is broken, we need a Savior, we must pray, and God is merciful. (By David Kubal, President/CEO of Intercessors for America. Prayers failed to stop any of the hurricanes and prayer hasn’t stopped the wildfires out west. How about praying that you wise up and not be brainwashed into wasting your time or your resources worshiping the imaginary.
Oh Dan…if you only understood TRUTH. The One True God, YOUR CREATOR, has spiritual laws in place…and for those who love Him and with all their hearts obey…WOW, do we KNOW DAILY HIS DIVINE PROTECTION…I can not begin to tell you the zillion times I have experienced HIS DIVINE PROTECTION…it is something to be greatly desired in this insane world. Lou, I’m sorry for the loss of your wife. I pray that God will be at work in you and in your situation to bring healing and restoration of that relationship. I know God is not dead because I see it all the time in changed lives of people who have chosen to trust Him. He is not the tooth fairy who brings goodies, but he can give you peace and joy if you will trust in Him.

To Toucari: Many Christians do not think that the hurricanes or other severe weather patterns are the
wrath of God. God, in the New Testament’s Covenant of Grace, His Blood Covenant, declares that this era
is a Time of salvation; God is not administering correction through severe weather patterns
just as a GOOD father would not castigate nor bring death nor trauma in order to correct; however “evil” very well is
behind stealing, killing and destroying.
God is teaching us to rule and to reign as His priests and kings. Jesus ruled over the storms. As He
is in the world so are believers who choose to investigate their calling. So your statement that believers attribute
these bad things to God’s “wrath”over sin is not universally believed by Christians, especially not in the New Testament
and living under this wrong belief system robs a believer of the honor, peace and grace that comes from knowing God
as our Papa, Compassionate, Merciful, our Stronghold, our Shield, our Protector, our Provider, our Healer, and much more. So in generalizing you have skipped an important fact.
it is time for human being to wake up from their comfortable slumber. this is a wake up call for the nation and the lands affected. we as a people have forgotten god and who is in charge. God knows the heart of George Soros is evil continuously, Judgement will not come by man, but by Him. He needs to repent quickly as he is already ” stricken with age”.
He is the one behind all the rioting and hate, sending indoctrinated young people to do his will, out in our neighborhoods causing fear and destruction. Yes, I do agree with the heart of those who took the time to write their comments. America needs to repent for their rejection of Jesus. The bible is very clear on this. Sad it takes pain and suffering to get our attention.
I don’t believe so. Weather events happen all the time. It’s just amazing how superstitious people can become when something bad happens. Either it’s god telling us something or it’s the devil. When good things happen, everyone thinks it’s of God and when bad things happen, people immediately think it’s the wrath of God. Weather conditions change all the time and can become unpredictable.
Nothing’s changed. Same people trying link events to god and 2nd coming. All throughout history, every generation tries to link earthquakes, weather storms, tsunamis, volcanoes, hurricanes, tornadoes, etc. as a sign of either God’s wrath or the works of the devil.
Here’s a thought, two galaxies are colliding in the universe with hundreds of solar systems and habitual planets. Assuming there is life on some, did god cause the 2 galaxies to collide? Also, if “we” are the only race that sinned against god then why is there still death and destruction outside our solar system galaxy. Btw, god does not live there up there. There is no up there. God lives somewhere out there. Gid doesn’t live in the clouds, no one looking down on you. Once you leave earths gravity and in space. There is no more up there. Some Christians really need to be educated.
I praise God for IFA and David Kubal hearing the call to pray and intercede for our nation. I believe we are praying GOD’s heart and have his attention that all should repent and turn to him for salvation and that none shall perish 2 PETER 3:9. In the name of JESUS I plead the blood of Jesus over this storm front,and with the authority of God living in me I command the storm to dissipate now!! Father God I ask in the name of Jesus that you send angels of war against the enemy and the storm. PS 83;13-15.Make the enemy like whirling dust, stubble or chaff before the wind! As fire consumes the forest and the flame sets the mountains ablaze,so pursue and the afflict the enemy with your tempest and terrify them with your hurricane. Ps 58:6,7
We stand in the gap for the city,county and state and confess all the sin in thought word and deed for each region and ask for your forgiveness, pleading the blood over all.
We declare no weapon formed against our nation,city,county and state shall prosper and every tongue that rises up against us shall be brought to shame.I Lord Jesus, we declare peace into the storm and command it to be still. Repentance should be Rom king to the last men of the land . Look Ninaiva , Mona preached and land repent. In our country Supreme Court pass gay marriage as the law of the land. Obama decorated White House in rainbow color . God give time to repent, but land did not. We innocent Americans paying thr price. Let us repent and pray.
Lord i thank you that two young women were praying as Irma hit and hurt them, that they turned to you and that they were rescued. Not all who turn to you will be physically rescued, but we know that those who turn to you are rescued eternally, that the separation between them and the God who made them is replaced by a relationship closer than a son to a father. Lord, I thank you that storms are used by your hand to draw us to our needed dependence on you, our Heavenly Father. I pray that we as your children would understand death as a door way home, so we are not frightened by that which can destroy this tent we now indwell, so that we are strong in faith and hope so that in a disaster we are ask of the hope that is in us. Lord we continue to lift up the victims of Harvey, and we ask you to work even now in the lives that will be affected by Irma. We ask for economic strength to withstand the federal impact of these storms. We look to you Lord, and pray your will in all of this, in Jesus name, Amen
Yes the message is there for all to see. It is up to us to accept these warnings from God as a reminder to repent and change our way of not believing and following His teachings. Some will turn their backs and avoid the message sent and deny Him. He said He will deny them when He is before His Father.

Please send me the outline spoken this morning in the Prayer Conference regarding the sins of our nation against God ~ especially starting in 1962, by the Supreme Court’s decision taking God and prayer out of our public schools.

I believe the signs,and wonders in the heavens and these disasters on Earth are loving warnings from God, our Heavenly Father to all of us, believers and unbelievers alike, to repent for The Kingdom of God is at hand. Sometimes it takes God lovingly allowing the devil to remove everything we rely upon for our comfort,entertainment, and provision to have us come to the realization that Jesus Christ alone is The Great I Am of all we need to live that more than abundant Life that Jesus purchased for all of us when He died to pay the wages for our sin , and God rose Him from the dead so He could ever live to pray for us and He sent us His Holy Spirit to indwell us believers as we love and obey Him so we wouldn’t be orphaned, alone or without help or the truth that makes us free. I found this out when I lost everything in one fell swoop: my job,home,family members,closest friends and financial assistance from my state and government. It was a real eye opener for me. I repented for worshipping all the false gods I had turned to for help. I asked God to never let me forget that Jesus Christ is Tne Only Way,The Truth, and The Life. It is only through Him we can get to Our Heavenly Father. He alone is our Ever Faithful Creator God, One True Lover of Our soul. He alone is our Wonderful Provider, Protecter,Vindicater,
He alone is The Great I Am of all any of us will ever need . He is waiting for all of us believers to humble ourselves,pray,and turn from our wicked ways so He can hear from Heaven, forgive our sins ,and heal our land. He is coming back again to receive His children to Himself where they will be safe from all harm forever. Scoffers say He’ll never come again or He came already. They are deceived. The ball is in our court now. Listen to Him and choose Life and the Blessing, refuse to listen to Him and choose Death and the Curse. My prayers are with us all to make the right choice. There are always prophetic implications that people see in circumstances like Irma and Harvey. Some positive, some negative. I do not feel God is punishing America on a continuing basis for abortions as many Christians seem to feel. It is not the Fathers nature to be unforgiving. America has suffered from the massive amount of abortions. Yet the change in this nation in regards to that issue has been changing and is getting more strongly Pro-Life. That is what was important to God. That the nation is turning back to Him. We had more condemnation for that lack of Christian obedience and unbelief. We have actually been in our dessert trek for the last 43 year because of the rebellion of the 60’s and 70’s. God’s tender mercies are new and fresh each day. His Grace has been and is being poured out on us. Speak things that are not as though they are. Storm be still in Jesus name and we command it to turn out into the Atlantic,move away, and dissipate in peace.
A week or two before the storm, during my early morning prayer time, the Lord said, “Jesus is coming! Jesus is coming! Will you leave all you have to come?” I answered, “Yes, Lord.” Although we do not know the time or hour of Jesus’ coming, it appeared to me the Lord was still moving in areas with revival of souls. So I was baffled. When I heard of the storm, I realized what the Lord was speaking about. I believe He is speaking to hearts to prepare for His final coming. Check your heart and make sure He is your Lord. Are you ready to leave what you have? Be ready for there is a final coming and this is preparation for that coming. Through this He is coming into people’s hearts leading into salvation, those who will receive. He has salvation for all to have everlasting life. He also is coming to pull hearts forward who are ready to be of service in His Kingdom.
God has our attention now, as a nation! Yes, and the church needs to come together in unity and love as well. Our focus has not been on our first love, but we have become lukewarm and complacent over the years of prosperity as a people.
we serve a Mighty God, who is restoring the nation of Israel in these last days, he is able to carry out all His decrees and plans for this nation as well as Israel. Holy is the Lord God. Pray the church wake, & become alive again. Pray for real leaders called by God Almighty, which are disciples. Not just seminary graduates. The church must return to Jesus, you will know the church is alive again, when the miracles return.
If Pres. Trump fails, with world rulers of darkness, and principalities & powers coming against him, it will be the fault of those who disobeyed God’s command, not Pres. Trump. He has done his job, now go and intercede for Him for an hour and then come back: there is no office of intercessor, everyone who names the name of Jesus is call to regularly intercede for Pres. Yes God is letting people who are not saved that he is in control of everything. We have a mighty and merciful God. I don’t understand how there are some people who don’t believe in him. Get on ur knees and pray. We need to pray for each other. God bless.
God has promised to protect his children. Call upon the name of the Lord. He loves and cares for his own. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. Rev. 5:8. Thou will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in there. Is. 32:17. There is power and peace through God’s precious word. Claim His promises! Hold onto His unchanging hand. He loves and cares for us more than we can imagine.
Jesus is speaking, I believe it, we have sinned. Jesus forgive, we must always stand with Israel, help us to love more, go but to the ok’d path, for his ways are the right ways.
God has always used the elements and nature to speak to his creation. The OT is replete with examples. Locust, fire, water, drought, storms, etc. Signs in the heavens indicate God is speaking.p

I think there is something in it: “Beloved, as I have been contemplating our circumstances, and praying to the Lord, and I am urging everyone to be on the prayer line ……for a concerted time of prayer.The Spirit of the Lord made it clear we are rebuking the WRONG storm. The real storm is the unrest and disunity, and the breaking of the covenant of the saints that has prevented the commanded blessing from being released. There is a window of opportunity that God will give us at midnight when the storm reaches to the Keys of Florida…this is a moment…please get the word out…and then speak to the storm….”
I agree with you, God is trying to get us to turn away from the evil we have allowed in this country. Our only hope is through prayer on bended knee. We serve an awesome God that loves us so much that He created us in “OUR” image which of course is God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit. What a priveledge and honor to be so created. Now we must strive to get back to the position of honor and let the light of their holiness shine through for all to see. All we have to do is allow the Holy Spirit to lead and guide us in a Christ like manner.
Parents need to be parents and teach their children in the ways of the Lord, to read and know what the Bible says and to love the neighbors as themselves. Oh what a difference. Jesus said that it was what was in the heart that really mattered so I am praying about the storms and that people will see that today is all we have and need to accept Jesus into our lives and proclaim it to the world.

Oh Father God, we worship you! We cannot measure your power, your compassion, and your judgment. We kneel before you to humbly ask for your forgiveness of our sinfulness. You needed to get our attention through these horrific storms. Please, dearest Lord, have mercy and cause our people to turn to our Savior Jesus Christ, that many can be saved spiritually and physically. Bring about all your purposes oh Lord through these storms, that we might worship you more fervently. In Jesus’s name.
Could the following be a key to turning, or stopping Hurricane Irma from reaching Florida and the East Coast of the United States? And if so, what harm would it cause for the body of Christ to rise up in intercession as a collective unified force in the midst of this imminent and crucial hour, to reach out to very throne of God with our decrees?… It’s time to unify and dismantle Satan’s authority over our land its atmosphere. Yes–I agree that God is trying to tell us something–He has allowed those storms to get our attention. Yesterday morning an intercessory group while praying about the storm, sensed God asking them to speak ‘Shalom’ over the storm. Also, yesterday, in my devotions, I rewrote a devotional that I had written on a Name of God–Jehovah Shalom. Was that a coincidence? I sense that it was God encouraging each of separately to speak peace to the storm. Christ told a storm–Peace be still–and it was. It is my heart desire to see a change in the storm so great, that that change can only be attributed to God. I do believe God wants our attention, and to trust Him. I will be praying in agreement with that intercessory group ‘Shalom’ over the storm.
Heavenly Father, You are the Great Almighty Creator. Forgive us Father, may your Spirit open eyes and reveal our limited humanity in need of you. Thank you for your truth. Let us faithfully pursue you, may your power, mercy and love draw us into active obedience that your will be accomplished here on Earth as in Heaven. As these devastating disasters occur, I pray for your divine Protection in a manner that exalts You. Praises to you. Thank you for many who are acknowledging you as we come together working through recovery and restoration.
Lord God You’ve granted us believers all power & authority in YOU. We speak to these storms hurricanes fires earthquakes causing destruction & tearing down homes buildings and people to STOP!! These are not of you but of the enemy & we BIND THEM & push them back in Your Mighty Name. Bless restore forgive grant mercy & grace- PEACE & PROVISION for Your people. I kept getting the scriptures about when Moses was on the mountain, how the captives he had brought from Egypt ,some had turned from God, by making and worshipping the gold calf.. I posted this on a group on August 19th.. I thought it might be a warning of earthquake. See the earth opened up and swallowed the disobedient when Moses returned. I knew something catastrophic was coming. I don’t know if the hurricane Harvey and Irma is it . Or if the earthquake ,we have been warned of is coming. Please join me. Praying for mercy on our country. And that people repent and accept Jesus and eternal life.

AGREE WITH EVERY THING SAID. IN JUNE I WAS IN SPRINGFIELD, ILL. TO SEE A DOCTOR AND FRANKLIN GRAHAM WAS SPEAKING AT THR CAPITAL STEPS. I HAD A MESSAGE FTOM GOD. BE THERE. THIS WAS 2016. I CANNOT WALK MORE THAN A BLOCK.MY HUSBAND ARGUED HE COULD NOT GET ME THERE. 11,000 PEOPLE ATTENDED AND IT WAS 90 DEGREES, I HAVE SEVERE COPD. WE DROVE DOWN A SHORT STREET THAT DEADENDED AT THE LINCOLN LIBRAY AND SOMEONE PULLED OUT ON A METER THAT HAD 1 AND HALF HOURS. WE PARKED AND WALKED ACROSS STREET TO STEPS FACING CAPITAL. A BREEZE CAME UP AND I COULD BREATH.we held hands and sang and prayed, All color and creeds. 360 were saved. This was no accident. God was there and we knew it was a sign from GOD to get on our knees. I knew that day time for our world was running out. I have always neen a Christian. But now my soul is ready to meet my savior. I am from Paducsh, ky. And was there only one day, 5 hours from my home. I have faith GOD is with me. I want to meet him in the clouds.

I have never heard God mentioned more in the government or prayers being said by the leaders of our Nation. God is always trying to communicate with his children, we need to listen. God is always in control. It is true the storms of life bring us closer to our Father, our Savior. Sometimes you have to be broken and brought to your knees so you have to reach up to Him. This life on earth is a mere blink of an eye compared to eternity, We are here to learn important lessons. The things that are happening in nature and people are warnings, we had better heed them. Evil is running a mock, so much hatred and anger. Remember He is our anchor in the storm. Pray, He is waiting to hear from you, from all of us. Pray for those who don’t know our Lord and Savior, they are the lost ones. Pray they find their way to him, before they leave this earth.
It seems to me if God is warning us he would start with the most wicked, Hollywood and sin city, which are cesspools of evil, God haters, revilers, haters of that which is good.
I have been very concerned since the Eclipse and I live in the Makanda area. Last evening a pastor read very appropriate scripture for now that simply put…no man but God knows the time He’s returning…the important thing is to Be Ready when he comes!

I know that God doesn’t punish anyone, but you can’t think that when you do something inhumane to another person, that it will go unnoticed by god, you can’t do unfair , treat someone wrong and think that you are just in doing it, somewhere along the line, you will reap what you sow, this is written clearly in the bible and it is just common sense as a human

On Wednesday before Harvey hit Rockport, Tx, a pure white dove landed on our fence post in the heat of the day. I had such peace and during the storm we had power and no damage to our home or any of our church family or loved ones. A sign of peace.
As I read the comments, it is a reminder of what my Grandmother told me. She said a Grandmother saw the tornado coming, and as her Grandchild stood by her side, all she could do is to pray. The tornado passed over her house and a brick was knocked off the chimney. The Grandmother and Grandchild survived the storm! God is love, is slow to anger, and has great mercy, but He warns us for a reason! He hears our prayers, if only we will pray!
Powerfully honest article! The United States has been blessed and blessed abundantly from it’s beginnings because of our love for God, His Son and His Word. We quickly arose to power! But as we have yielded to being a sin filled society we have begun to destroy our own selves. By failing to stand for Biblical, God-given principles of marriage, of life, of lawlessness, immigration, respect for law and government, we have almost defiantly asked God for punishment. God forgive us beginning with me. He is merciful and full of grace but that is not an excuse to continue in sin and defiance.

I saw a video that Billy Grahams’ daughter, Ann Graham Lotz shared before the total eclipse, and they quoted the scripture Luke 21:25, “There will be signs in the sun, moon and stars. On earth, nations will be in anguish and perplexity at the roaring and tossing of the sea.” They pointed out that ‘natural’ disasters follow things like the eclipse. Events in the Heavens are warnings to us, so I do believe God is trying to wake us up.

This was man’s doing not God’s idea for God does not change and it is the only commandment He told us not to forget so you are right in these natural disasters as His purpose in getting our attention to repent and turn back to His truth, and to remind us that He is always “God with us” and to humble ourselves, repent and to pray and ask Him to forgive and to heal our land.
I had actually been wondering the same thing. Houston is one of the deadliest, most crime ridden cities in America. Miami is another…..odd isn’t it? They say it will pass through Charlotte NC – one of the worst for crime in the state.

The Bible says is my people will humble themselves and pray I will heal their nation. You know muslims are are very dedicated in their pray times daily but what about us me included. I believe so. God communicates with His Church spirit to spirit. The Church then speaks these truths from God to the nations. When the Church becomes silent, through fear and compromise…. God still needs His message of love to get through to the world. If the church won’t warn the nation of the dangerous road we are on, then God will speak to us through signs in the heavens and miracles in the earth and through Israel. He does this because he loves. Yes, judgment in warning is a mamifestation of that love. He is not willing that any should perish….

Repentance- true repentance is required – being deeply sorrowful of the decisions our nation has made that has taken us further away from God. I am an intercessor and truly believe God uses catastrophic events to get our attention. Just as an earthy father punishes his child out of love, why would a loving FatherGod not punish a nation whom He loves – established on Biblical principles? How else can He get our attention? Please pray that America will humble itself, and repent. 2Chronicles 7:14 is conditional. IF we humble ourselves,pray and seek God’s face, turn from our wicked ways, THEN He will hear from Heaven, forgive our sin and heal our land. Amen!

Yes, we must pray. When Harvey hit Houston we prayed a bubble of protection over my family and their property. The flood waters came to their driveway and stopped. Water surrounded them on all four sides but did not reach their door. Prayer works.
