When the Democrat majority instituted the rule nearly three years ago, on May 15, 2020, supposedly due to the Chinese coronavirus pandemic, House Republicans were mainly in favor of changing the proxy voting rule.

Our senators and representatives need to care enough about our country and the people they represent to be there to vote in person. The pandemic is over !!So thankful for this action of the House of Representatives and praying the Senate will do likewise.
Although I am no expert, I believe that this particular kind of voting has so much room for corruption and manipulation, that it should be opposed at every step in our government. These people were elected and therefore should be there to represent those who elected them.
Thank God our elected representatives will finally have to show up for work. Thank you Speaker McCarthy for restoring order in the House.
