He’s not a third-party presidential candidate up for election in November, but thousands across the country are putting up “Jesus 2020” yard signs.
More than 5,000 signs have shipped out to California, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas, and other states from a campaign that began at Sampey Memorial Baptist Church in Ramer, Alabama. . . .
“People need Jesus with everything that’s going on,” Joyce Hubbard, one of the Jesus 2020 co-organizers, told Fox News. “He’s the only one that we can count on. He’s the one that keeps his promises. He’s already the winner.”
Hubbard and her friend, Martha Sikes, came up with the idea at their small church, which reopened in May and has several members still at home due to the coronavirus pandemic. The two wanted to spark a revival of hope in a climate of despair.
“If everyone would just focus on Jesus right now, everything would just fall into place and we wouldn’t have the problems we have,” Hubbard said. “He’s the only way.” . . .
“We don’t have to be some megachurch. All it takes is a spark and we want to set fires everywhere,” Hubbard said. “We want Jesus’s name out there.”
The organizers said they’ve had churches and entire neighborhoods order the signs because, Hubbard notes, “once one person gets them, everyone wants one.” . . .

It sounds to casual. We are talking about the great “I AM”. In the times we are living in something more like “Turn back to GOD”. Or “repent America”. Or “pray America Pray”. Just my thoughts but as the election gets closer I would love to have something to put in my yard that puts a sense of urgency in the hearts of people that this is no ordinary election.

I really like the JESUS 2020 idea. What a great way to declare our Lord to our neighbors.
However, the comment that “If everyone would just focus on Jesus right now, everything would just fall into place and we wouldn’t have the problems we have,” is not Biblical. We are a fallen people and we will have problems. In fact, the Bible makes it clear that we will have problems. What the Bible does promise us, as we focus on Jesus and trust Him with our lives and circumstances, is peace in our hearts and minds, not necessarily solutions to problems. (Philippians 4:6-7) Our focus as Christians needs to not be to avoid problems but to walk with our Lord and obey Him moment by moment.

I think we should all begin to ask the Father to send the Son. When Jesus taught His disciples to pray, after addressing the Father and His holy Name, the first request Jesus told us to ask for is “Thy Kingdom come”! Why aren’t we all doing that? Let’s begin doing that. Every time we come to the Father in prayer, may we first ask, “Thy Kingdom come! Send the Son!” And may we along with that prayer, be passionately, faithfully presenting the Gospel with every soul we come across.
