Harvard University was founded as Harvard College in 1636. Its stated purpose was: “To train a literate clergy.”…Now, Harvard has hired an atheist as its chief chaplain…
“Harvard University’s organization of chaplains is getting a new president to coordinate the campus’ Christian, Jewish, Hindu, Buddhist and assorted…religious communities. Only the new president, 44-year-old Greg Epstein, does not identify with any of those traditional religions himself.
“He is an atheist.”…
Epstein explained to the New York Times, “There is a rising group of people who no longer identify with any religious tradition but still experience a real need for conversation and support around what it means to be a good human and live an ethical life.
“We don’t look to a god for answers. We are each other’s answers.”
The only problem is with Epstein’s explanation is, well, everything…
…to be a chaplain, by definition, means to be a religious leader, not simply a department head or an administrator or someone who believes in ethical living. And so, to appoint an atheist to be chief university chaplain is like appointing a Christian evangelist to head up the university’s atheist club…
Harvard’s leadership…vot[ed] to elect him unanimously…
Really now, how can you conduct a worship service if there is no God to worship?…
To whom do you pray? What hope can you offer regarding the world to come? How can you help someone connect to the spiritual, unseen, eternal realm?…
And if you yourself are convinced that there is no God, doesn’t that mean that you view all religious believers as being…deeply deceived?
It’s one thing if Harvard said, “Rabbi Epstein does a great job of bringing people of different religions together.” Terrific. Then hire him as an administrative coordinator for the chaplain’s department. But don’t hire him as your chief chaplain…
As for Epstein being a rabbi, that is just as absurd as being a chaplain, if not more so. (For the record, he “received ordination as a Humanist Rabbi from the International Institute for Secular Humanistic Judaism.”)…
But why let truth and facts and logic get in the way? Let’s just set our own standards and, to cite the title of Epstein’s 2009 book, which has suddenly become a bestseller, let’s just be good without God…
As for the Harvard of old, in order to graduate with the most basic degree in Arts…the student had to be able “logically to explain the Holy Scriptures, both of the Old and New Testaments…and…be blameless in life and character.”…

Dear God, our hope is in You. Turn the hearts of evil to You. Show this new atheist chaplain the Truth in You. Bring about a great change in his unbelieving heart. Lead All the other chaplains who believe in God to greater strength in You. Lead them to helping the atheist to understand and know You, God. In the name of Jesus Christ I pray.
Is there such a thing as atheist Chaplin? Sounds like an oxymoron to be.
Father God, turn the hearts of the wicked who would try to destroy your word. Tear the blinders from their eyes. Let your praises flow from their lips. Raise up student who would minister to this so called Chaplin. Raise up an army against this standard set by Harvard University. They have proven to be your enemy Father God. Have mercy on them as well as have you way with them oh Lord.
Amen.
Why are we surprised? Many that call themselves Christians never witness to anyone. Many hardly ever read their Bibles, and few know how to pray effectually. 3 years ago almost every student in my 8th grade class said they had never been to church in their life. I invited them to church, said I would have my church pick them up, and they never came though I asked them regularly. I also after that, incorporated CHRIST in my lessons, using my Christian upbringing as examples; as to having joy, peace, kindness, youth clubs in church, etc. And the children did respond to me.
FATHER GOD we pray for that chaplain to have a Damascus Road experience like the Apostle Paul had. We claim him for the Kingdom of GOD and ask that YOU do a quick work in his life. Thank YOU FATHER for turning what the devil meant for evil into good. Let this chaplain be the greatest soul winner to CHRIST that Harvard has ever had in JESUS Name! Amen!
God says,”I Will Not be mocked.” The entire school along with their neighbor Prinston is on the border. They can choose now to believe the Creator as HE gives them a glimpse of their future. A vision of HELL is forthcoming.
Cease now to weep and move on as Angelic forces contain the chaos. AMEN
