Hamas Releases Hostage Video
Why did Hamas release this video? Are they trying to show that their treatment of the hostages is good, or are they actually taunting their enemies?

In the video, the girl says she was badly hurt and has been receiving medical treatment.
“Hi, I’m Mia Schem, 21 years old from Shoham. Currently, I’m in Gaza. I returned early Saturday morning from Sderot; I was at a party. I was seriously injured in my hand. I underwent surgery on my hand at the hospital [in Gaza] for 3 hours. They are taking care of me, giving me medicine, everything is fine. I only ask that they bring me home as soon as possible to my parents, to my siblings. Get me out of here as soon as possible. Please.”
The IDF Spokesperson’s Unit said that Mia’s family had been notified that she had been kidnapped last week and that IDF representatives were in contact with her. …

Hamas claims to be administering medical attention
On Hamas’s Arabic Telegram channel, the video is accompanied by the caption, “Mujahideen from the Al-Qassam Brigades provide medical care to a female prisoner in Gaza, who was captured on the first day of the Al-Aqsa Flood battle.” …
It is unclear when the video of Mia was filmed and The Jerusalem Post is unable to verify its authenticity at this time. Neither the woman’s family nor any Israeli government or security officials have confirmed the authenticity of the video.
Hamas often uses similar videos as part of psychological warfare efforts, and it is not yet determined if Mia is still alive. …
Mia is just one of many hostages taken by Hamas since their initial attack on October 8. We’ve received flyers depicting some of the other people taken captive. You can view these flyers by clicking here.

Lord,
I know you people are overwhelmed by all the needs of the world but I am just appalled that just of 100 people say they are praying for the captives- while thousands say they are praying for Israel.
Please stir your us to become sensitive to the needs of the misery of the hostages
in spite of the enemy’s propaganda tricks.

When I and intecessors at my church pray for Israel, we include release of all hostages in those prayers as well as comfort for the grieving families! We include everyone and everything connected to this conflict including asking GOD to fight for Israel and to bring down their enemies in JESUS NAME!
Lord, we pray for Mia and all the other hostages held by Hamas. We ask that they be returned to their homes unharmed. We know that they are not being treated well because kidnapped and held against one’s will is not well treatment. The passive verbiage of the statement seems to prove it was crafted by someone other than the victim. “I’m in Gaza. I returned early Saturday morning from Sderot; I was at a party. I was seriously injured in my hand.” This makes it sound as if she planned all along to “return” to Gaza after a party. She doesn’t say, these monsters shot me, but “I was injured in my hand,” as if the injury just passively came about. Lord, open the understanding of those who read or listen to her statement. Let the authorities act upon this propaganda and see through it for what it is. Send your angels to guard and protect Mia and the other hostages from further abuse. We bind all plans of the enemy to harm, lie, distort, and deceive. We lift the mighty name of Jesus up among the nations and and pray you will use this conflict to draw the masses to Yourself.
