GOP and Dems Target the House Ahead of the Midterms
With the excitement from the off-year elections over, Republicans and Democrats alike are gearing up for next year’s midterms. And with only 3 seats separating the majority from the minority in the House, the President’s agenda is at stake.

From Fox News:
Democrats, energized by their convincing victories earlier this month in the 2025 elections, are betting those results foreshadow a House flip in next year’s midterm showdowns.
The party out of power needs a net gain of just three seats to grab back the majority from the Republicans, who’ve controlled the House for nearly three years. And the party in power, which nowadays is clearly the Republicans, traditionally faces political headwinds in the midterm elections.
…
“We’ll take back the House in 2026,” Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee chair Rep. Suzan DelBene of Washington state told Fox News Digital.
Just like the Democrats, Republicans are also focused on these three seats, with the GOP desperate to protect what Fox calls “their fragile majority.” Though Republicans have controlled the House for three years, their slim majority has often slowed down or even stopped critical legislation from making it through the lower chamber.
Polling shows that Democrats are favored to take the House back in 2026. Fox notes that high-profile wins this year in New Jersey, Virginia, Georgia, Pennsylvania, New York City, and California paint a sobering picture for Republicans.
Additionally, according to DelBene, affordability is the most important issue to voters right now, with many concerned about rising costs. Although Republicans won on this issue last year, a recent Fox News national poll found that 76% of voters feel the economy in America is doing poorly right now. Many reportedly blame the President for this.
Will Republicans be able to hold the House in 2026, or will Democrats regain the control they lost under Biden’s disastrous administration? As the midterms draw closer, let’s pray for God’s will to be done!
