The Department of Justice has sued the state of Idaho over its pro-life legislation, claiming that it violates federal law. Is this what our federal employees should be doing with our tax dollars? What do you think of this politicizing and weaponizing of the DOJ?
From The Daily Wire. The Department of Justice sued the state of Idaho on Tuesday over its near-universal ban on abortions, the first lawsuit of its kind since the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade.
Who is praying on the wall?
Attorney General Merrick Garland announced the lawsuit in a press conference on Tuesday afternoon. The Biden administration’s chief prosecutor claimed that the Idaho law illegally restricts access to abortion in some cases where the life of the mother is at risk….
“The State of Idaho, however, has passed a near-absolute ban on abortion. Once the Idaho law takes effect on August 25, 2022, Idaho Code § 18-622 will make it a felony to perform an abortion in all but extremely narrow circumstances,” the lawsuit states. “The Idaho law would make it a criminal offense for doctors to comply with [Emergency Medical Treatment and Labor Act] requirement to provide stabilizing treatment, even where a doctor determines that abortion is the medical treatment necessary to prevent a patient from suffering severe health risks or even death.”
Governor Brad Little (R-ID) said the lawsuit amounted to “federal meddling” in the state’s newly-secured authority to set abortion law. Biden “continues to ignore issues that really should demand his attention – like crushing inflation and the open border with Mexico,” Little said.
Idaho Attorney General Lawrence Wasden issued a separate statement saying the federal government is misinterpreting federal law to find conflict where none exists….

Lord we declare over Idaho the right to stand for life. We declare boldness and courage to the state government to continue to stand strong with wisdom, understanding and strategy to overcome the reckless overreach that has reared it’s head against our state. We bless their efforts with grace and favor to successfully push back knowing the blood of Jesus is our advocate in His Court. We thank You Lord for your angelic support as we guard and steward our state. Amen.
Praise the Lord. We will protect the right to life in this state in Jesus name. Federal government will not usurp the rights of the individual states to make and uphold their laws.
The DOJ is totally corrupted and out of its jurisdiction. I pray Lord Jesus that you will protect us from this evil that has corrupted our judicial system. It is a horrible cancer that is causing much damage to our citizens and our government. Only you Lord can cure this cancer. In Jesus name I pray, may your will be done. Amen.

The government is overreaching their constitutional authority. We ask Father, that the courts would view this as such and shut it down. May your people be faithful to pray against this and see it come to nothing. And may our government use tax money for legitimate uses.
This is now a states rights issue! Why is this Administration wasting my tax dollars on this? Does not matter where you stand on the abortion issue – that is up to the states.

I wish you would have stated exactly what the Idaho law actually says. By only quoting the Attorney General, it leaves readers to believe his lies are true.
As an Idaho resident, this greatly greives me greatly. I’m proud my state is standing up for the unborn. But we also care about the mother and her medical condition, and the doctors doing all that is necessary for her.
I pray for the truth. I pray the lies will be exposed. I pray for strength and wisdom for Idaho’s Supreme Court Justices. I pray for our Attorney General. I pray for Idaho’s precious unborn babies. And I pray for God’s mercy and His will to be done.

No doubt it is like other states who are simply setting out guidelines, reasonable guidelines.
This RN hopes to assure all who care about women, they will be protected by the federal EMTALA laws. Doctors and hospitals simply need to have policy’s in place and educate, educate, educate staff in best practice. Make sure doctors are trained well, to recognize emergency’s early. To act in the patients best interest in potentially dangerous conditions.
My hope is we will all expect the highest standards of best practice from every facility that provides healthcare and provides any procedure on a woman. This requires providing the truth about procedures. And a clear policy when complications arise on what to do to save the life of the mother and prevent permanent damage to her.
Garland needs to be fired for his radical leftist action and not abiding to the Constitution
Lord, we pray for ID. Give them strength, knowledge and wisdom in the face of Fed gov’t tyranny. We pray for Merrick Garland. He is so lost Lord. Save him if possible. Each day You reveal to us why he was never confirmed to the SC and just how much the Obama administration “his” from Americans about who Garland truly is. We pray for You to change his heart but to also remove him from his position.
Give victory to ID and all the babies that You are the creator of. In Jesus name amen.

I am absolutely prolife. The two medical conditions I would say would say would be 1) ectopic, 2) what’s called missed abortion.
In the first, the pregnancy is not in the uterus. It is usually in the Fallopian tube but can also be in the pelvis. There are very few exceptions for the pelvic cavity as babies don’t get the nutrients they need to thrive. If we can “remove and transplant to the uterus” there might be a greater chance of survival, however there is an issue of disrupting the placental attachment from the pelvis. Ectopics in the tube are a medical emergency for mom’s. Can lead to severe bleeding into the pelvis when it rupture, and lead to death. If surgery is done prior to that point, mom can be spared. Methotrexate can be given to dissolve cells to help prevent rupture, as an alternative.
At times as well, embryonic cells grow to a certain point and then stop. This can be a chemical pregnancy or a missed abortion (the body doesn’t recognize the fetus is no longer alive and does not pass on its own). All situations heartbreaking for the mom/dad.
In these cases, I feel would be exceptions and only these. I would want confirmation with blood work and/or ultrasound, which almost all docs would do. Almost all OB’s would perform these procedures and there are some that, much less that also perform abortions.
Thought? I’m up for changing my stance, if need be….

Agreed Rena. EMTALA covers both to allow a doctor care for mom. That was even true in pre Roe days. At least for docs who could document well.
Lord, help Idahoans stand firm in their decision to state sovereignty. Thank You for their stance on life. Lord, Merrick Garland is not following Biblical principles. Change his heart and mind, or please move him out of office. Block the attempts of the DOJ in this federal government overreach. Take away their money. Thank You. Amen.
Father I would ask You to give the people of Idaho, impeach him for malpractice and garnish his wealth to pay for his folly.
Praise you Lord God creator of all for men who are willing to stand up for the unborn and be men if courage. Father I pray you would give them strength and courage to fight the good fight to stand strong in the face of the enemy Help us your body to stand with them to be a voice of truth and light and no longer sit back quietly. Place your wall of protection around these men and their families and give other states the courage to follow Idaho and stop abortion. Forgive our silence and let us speak truth in love but speak. In the name of Jesus I ask You to protect the state of Idaho’s right to determine laws for the citizens of that state. I ask that You use all Your power to defeat the federal Department of Justice’s lawsuit against Idaho’s abortion law, and remove every corrupt person in the federal government.

Amen. I am happy to read of the lawsuit to my new adopted state. It’s one reason my husband and I recently moved to Idaho from Washington. There is life here; there is freedom for every person, even in the womb.
It doesn’t take long and you notice people are happier living here. God’s favor is on this state.
(Budget surplus $1.9 billion, to name one.) We have lots of liberal neighbors and they are reaping the benefits and don’t understand why. Yet!
Our nation, I believe, will follow suit.
Rochelle, I agree that I want God to defeat the Feds DOJ lawsuit. I don’t mean to be facetious, but I don’t think the Creator God is going to need to use all His power. I agree with you about removing every corrupt person in our Federal Slums of the Bureaucracy.
