Elon Musk, tech-CEO-turned-political-firebrand, announced that his time as a special government employee is coming to an end and thanking President Trump for giving him the opportunity to “reduce wasteful spending.”

āAs my scheduled time as a Special Government Employee comes to an end, I would like to thank President @realDonaldTrump for the opportunity to reduce wasteful spending,ā Musk wrote in aĀ postĀ on X. āThe @DOGE mission will only strengthen over time as it becomes a way of life throughout the government.ā
CNBCĀ reported that as part of Muskās role as a āspecial government employee,ā he is only allowed to work for the administration for ā130 days in a calendar yearā …
Breitbart, quoting the New York Times, notes that this departure comes as Musk has become “disillusioned with Washington and frustrated with the obstacles he encountered as he upended the federal bureaucracy.” In a separate article, Breitbart reported that Musk was disappointed in the “big, beautiful bill” that was recently passed by the House:
Musk said, āSo, you know, I was like, disappointed to see the massive spending bill, frankly, which increases the budget deficit, not decrease it and undermines the work the DOGE team is doing.ā
Musk had also announced previously his intention to step away from politics altogether. Perhaps he is disillusioned with the results of the money he spent to help Republicans take control of Washington. Alternatively, perhaps he is simply tired of facing relentless personal attacks as a result of his work in Washington.
Whatever his reason it for stepping back, it seems that Elon Musk’s time in the political world is coming to a close, at least for now. Let’s pray for him as he leaves, but let’s also thank God and pray for what he accomplished with the Trump administration. Let’s pray that, like he said in his post, DOGE will become “a way of life throughout the government.”

I worked for the government for 32 years & saw a lot of fraud, waste, & abuse. I was even able to stop a little of it through management audits & budget reviews that I did. Sometimes itās hard to stand up against wrong. I had even received threats for doing my job. Mr. Musk should be honored & blessed for all he tried to do. God bless his patriotism & good heart.
