I Prayed have prayed
Lord, strengthen the body of Christ and may we be more united than ever before. Give us courage to stand up for what is right.

Now that Joe Biden has been sworn in as the nation’s 46th president, what may lie ahead for the United States? Will Americans experience greater freedom and prosperity, or might Big Tech help government impose more restrictions that help to create a new totalitarian normal?

It was a rare display of force – one normally seen only in third-world, totalitarian countries – 25,000 National Guard troops in the nation’s capital were on a massive security mission: protecting Joe Biden and those attending his swearing-in ceremony. . . .

In 1861, the U.S. Cavalry stationed sharpshooters on rooftops and troops along the inaugural route to protect then unpopular president-elect Abraham Lincoln as his carriage traveled down Pennsylvania Avenue to the Capitol.

Five weeks later, the first shots of the Civil War rang out over Fort Sumter.

Now, 160 years later, some people believe a divided America is on the precipice of a second civil war. But the Senior Editor of The American Conservative, author Rod Dreher, believes the country may be on the brink of what he calls a “Father Kolakovic moment.” . . .

Kolakovic organized student prayer groups to prepare for suffering. Dreher said they became the backbone of Eastern Europe’s underground church.

“I firmly believe that we are in a similar moment here in America. Now Christians of all kinds – Catholics, Protestants, Orthodox – have got to take advantage of this moment of liberty. We have to get our networks in place to prepare for persecution,” warned Dreher. . . .

“It’s not going to have gulags, secret police – the thing the Soviets had. Rather, this is something that is going to be done mostly by Big Tech limiting access to the economy, keeping it so only those who conform with what the regime wants can participate in the economy,” explained Dreher.

Social media speech censorship and Amazon’s recent shutdown of servers for the popular conservative website Parler could provide a clue as to what may lie ahead.

“It’s going to come from big business and Big Tech who will be using their freedom in our free-market society to marginalize and oppress ‘deplorables,’ which includes political conservatives and religious conservatives,” Dreher insisted. . . .

“We’re going to see people designated as terrorists – people who have no interest in terrorism at all who do not support violence, but who simply question the way things are done in this country and they do so from the right,” predicted Dreher. “I believe that Christians – conservative Christians – are going to be targeted too and there will be no discrimination between us peaceful conservative Christians and those who want violence.” . . .

“It has put us in a position and a mindset of fear and control and where we can be open to being told what to do by the government. And I think that this has been a dry-run, if you will, for greater control,” he said. . . .

It’s already happening in China where the communist government has implemented a social credit system that forces citizens to conform to what the government wants. Those deemed to be good communists are rewarded with full access to the economy, travel, higher education, and good jobs.

“I think we’re going to see an informal version of that happen right here in America,” said Dreher. “And the hammer is going to come down on conservatives and traditional Christians.” . . .

Dreher warns U.S. Christians need to prepare.

“We in the American church know nothing about suffering. We have had it good for a long time. The people who grew up under communism – I talk to in my book Live Not By Lies – they know what it’s like to suffer for the faith,” Dreher explained. “We have to start learning from their experience and we have to be prepared to be steadfast and to suffer without hating our enemy.”  . . .

Proverbs 9:10-12

10 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.

11 For by me thy days shall be multiplied, and the years of thy life shall be increased.

12 If thou be wise, thou shalt be wise for thyself: but if thou scornest, thou alone shalt bear it.

The fear of the LORD is what is needed in this land and in the whole earth.
May GOD bring HIS fear upon all who oppose HIM, and that would include nominal Christian and non-Christian alike. In Jesus Name, Amen.

Without fear, walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, please Him in every way…know we are being strengthened with all power according to His glorious might…Give Him thanks as we are qualified to share in the inheritance of the saints… We have been rescued from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of His beloved Son, we have been redeemed, our sins are forgiven. I pray all the powers of darkness tremble and fear as we continue to Praise our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen

Does sadness fill my mind?
A solace here I find,
May Jesus Christ be praised!
Or fades my earthly bliss?
My comfort still is this,
May Jesus Christ be praised!
When evil thoughts molest,
With this I shield my breast,
May Jesus Christ be praised!
The powers of darkness fear,
When this sweet chant they hear,
May Jesus Christ be praised!

If we read our Bibles and pray without ceasing and spend time with the Holy Spirit, we ARE preparing ourselves for persecution. I don’t have to buy and read one of Rod Dreher’s books. I’m not totally on board with Rod Dreher and some of his views.

That last paragraph of this article about “the American church knowing nothing about suffering
…” is a little off… maybe as a collective whole, but there are plenty of American individuals who have and are still enduring.

Read Matthew 24 and 25. Read the OT prophecies. The Holy Spirit is our Counselor, Advocate, and Helper.

We can rest in Him and not work ourselves up into a frenzy “preparing for persecution.”

“Whenever you are arrested and brought to trial, do not worry beforehand about what to say. Just say whatever is given you at the time, for it is not you speaking, but the Holy Spirit.”
Mark 13:11

I think we need to take with a grain of salt some Christian sources of news and articles, some of it is just sensational.

Perhaps, but it may be the opposite as well, and what is to come may be a serious trial indeed. Look at how swiftly these decrees have been made and in such volume. Should we somehow expect an abatement in the near future? Dead’s speak louder than words, and we can certainly know this batch of of false prophets of wokeness by their wicked fruit. Better to expect the worst and be prepared than to lull oneself into a sense of false security.

Lord you alone can help us. We see that there are certain people in our world who care only about power and control because their lives are devoid of you and they have no moral compass. People who willingly cheated and lied in order to win and don’t care about our nation and the people. We pray they will find salvation somehow. We pray that Your conviction will never relent from their conscience and that it will cause them unrest for their remaining days on earth.
Give us strength during these times Lord. In you alone can we find peace of mind.

John 17::14: Jesus has given us His word; and the world hates believers because we are not of the world, just as Jesus was not of this world. Jesus did not pray that we be taken out of the world but that we are kept from the evil one. God is sanctifying us by the word of His truth. We stand in unity, all heeding the call of Christ to corporately and individually heed the call in obedience to do what He is calling us to do. We stand in unity against the present day evil, and being faithful servants/workmen while it is still day. In Jesus name we pray

Lord God, Almighty, Everlasting, Sovereign One,
We praise You for Your Power and Goodness. You are faithful and righteous and You know all things. Nothing is beyond You! We praise You for You have given us life. You have set us apart and continue to sustain and protect us. Nothing that we have experienced or will experience has happened outside Your mighty hand. You alone can be trusted! This is a time of chaos and deception. You warned us that in the last days we would see and experience the birth pangs of Your wrath. Although we will be spared, suffering will be part of our experience as it has been from the beginning of time. BUT GOD! You have provided The Way through Jesus Christ! He lives and His Spirit of Power and Truth lives in every follower of Christ. Strengthen us and encourage us through Your Holy Spirit. Remind us of Your faithfulness and great love for us that we may not grow weary of well doing. Keep our eyes fixed on the Author and Finisher of Our faith. Lord Jesus, draw many to yourself. Help us to love all whom You love and to shine Your light in the darkest of places. Restore and revive us! Lead us to full repentance and grant us the courage of Daniel and Ester to stand firm and hold fast to Your unchanging Truth. In Your Holy and Powerful Name we pray! Amen

Dear Heavenly Father it has already begun. Our nation is in the grip of evil, and those who wield power are trying to force conformity with their contrary and ephemeral agenda. What they say is right one day is likely to be wrong the next but either way, they expect us to shake our heads in agreement with their declarations. Lord, their chaotic and constantly changing proclamations are in such contrast to the simple truths You provide. I am reminded of Isaiah 5:20, which I think is one of the most important passages with regard to these days: “Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!” Lord, anyone who knows even a fraction of Your teachings can see the deceptions that have already begun, while so many around us seem oblivious to the deception. Daniel 12:10: “Many will be purified, made spotless and refined, but the wicked will continue to be wicked. None of the wicked will understand, but those who are wise will understand.” The wicked are already beginning to label the just as bigots, racists, hateful, and now terrorists, while they characterize the truly evil, violent, and hateful as “mostly peaceful protesters.” Father deliver us from their evil. Save our nation and our youth from their evil backwards teachings. Save us from their slander and abuse. Expose them for the evil they do and the wicked criminals they are. Guide us on this path of darkness Lord, for I believe we are setting off on our own journey through the valley of the shadow of death. We need Your light to guide us. In Jesus precious name I pray O’ Lord, Amen.
