Division vs Unity at the Super Bowl
This year’s Super Bowl was filled with highs and lows. On one hand, the game began with a performance of the “Black National Anthem,” dividing viewers across the nation. On the other hand, during Turning Point USA’s alternative halftime show, millions hear the presentation of the Gospel.

From Breitbart:
Super Bowl LX fans criticized the NFL after singer Coco Jones performed “Lift Every Voice and Sing,” also known as the “Black National Anthem,” before the game.
The song “has been a source of consternation for NFL fans since the league started to use the song during the 2020 season,” Fox News reported. Jones sang the song “as fans began to trickle into Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California” for Super Bowl LX between the New England Patriots and the Seattle Seahawks.
Breitbart News reported that fans also took to social media in 2025 for Super Bowl LX after the “Black National Anthem” was also performed, pointing out that “there is only one National Anthem.”
Football fans were quick to call out the divisive move. As one X user put it, “Nothing helps spread the NFL’s message of unity and togetherness quite like a national anthem for black people only.”
However, white the Super Bowl chose to divide fans, Turning Point USA shared the ultimate message of unity. As part of the group’s “All-American Halftime Show,” headliner Kid Rock shared a powerful Gospel message.
From The Christian Post:
Kid Rock shared the Gospel message at Turning Point USA’s “All-American Halftime Show” with a cover of Cody Johnson’s chart-topping hit “Til’ You Can’t,” adding a new faith-focused verse he said came to him unexpectedly.
The roughly 40-minute broadcast, organized by Turning Point USA, streamed as an alternative to the Super Bowl halftime show headlined by Bad Bunny. Kid Rock headlined the show, which was primarily broadcast on Turning Point USA’s official YouTube channel, drawing over 5 million live viewers during the stream.
…
The 55-year-old singer first debuted a modified version of the song at the Hondo Rodeo Fest last fall, introducing a personal verse centered on faith and redemption. The lyrics reference returning to the Bible and surrendering one’s life to Jesus. He dedicated the performance to Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk.
As the Post notes, this added verse includes the lyrics, “There’s a book that’s sitting in your house somewhere that could use some dusting off / There’s a man that died for all our sins hanging from the cross / You can give your life to Jesus and he’ll give you a second chance / ‘Til you can’t, ’til you can’t.”
Following the halftime show, Turning Point USA CEO Erika Kirk explained that the goal of the event was to “make Heaven crowded.” She dedicated to performance to her slain husband, stating confidently that “Charlie would’ve absolutely loved it.”
It is shocking that NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said that Bad Bunny was chosen for the official halftime show to create a “unified moment.” While the NFL claimed to preach unity, it actually sowed division through its exclusionary black national anthem and its controversial halftime pick. Meanwhile, Turning Point USA brought the most authentic, true unity possible by sharing the love of Jesus Christ with millions of Americans.
Let’s thank God for the success of Turning Point’s halftime show, and let’s ask God to water every seed that Kid Rock planted!

I am saddened by KidRock NOT commenting on the backlash from his song, Cool, Daddy, Cool. While I will not judge his profession of faith in Christ, this ‘fruit’ of this is disconcerting for me
I realize that we are all sinners (Romans 3:23), but that does not disqualify us from speaking up against concerns like this, yet in a gentle and loving manner (Galatians 6:1)
When I see and hear of questionable actions like this article mentions, it grieves me to the point of, again, realizing, that the only way our lives will change for the better is through desperate prayer for Revival. (2 Chronicles 7:14)
I am thinking now of Isaiah 40:27-31 and realize, joyfully, that God knows what is going on, that He is not silent, but gives those who wait on Him His strength and power to be a persevering witness to the darkness all around us
