Analysis. Twitter’s new CEO Elon Musk has shaken up the company, the tech industry, and all of Washington, D.C. with his takeover of the company.
Connect with others in your state in prayer.
For those not on Twitter, I can tell you that Twitter is THE social media platform of Washington, D.C. Every pollster, journalist, lawmaker, political advocate, and D.C. influencer is on Twitter. Many journalists get their story ideas from Twitter. It is the center of fast-moving political discourse in America. It also has major influence around the world.
And now, after censoring countless right-leaning voices, new leadership is in charge with the promise of free speech. Shouldn’t we be covering this transition in prayer?

For this article, I spoke with a D.C.-area tech expert who works on tech issues with the federal government. He gave a prophetic perspective on what is happening in tech and how we can be praying.
He highlighted three key things God is doing right now: disruption, correction, and cleansing.

What is God doing in the tech industry right now? If I could distill it down to one word I would say disruption. There is a massive disruption happening right now in the tech community at large. Technology has been the single greatest disruptor of our lives and our generation. Technology has disrupted everything…Two big events happened this week in terms of disruption. First, the tech community has had the largest and worst quarters in terms of earnings. In fact, Facebook, otherwise known as META, had its worst earnings on record, and I believe this speaks to what they call in the markets a correction. The financial markets are saying, ‘hey, these markets are having a correction. They have been overvalued.’
My source said this correction in terms of the stock prices and valuation of these companies, is indicative of what God is doing in the tech world right now. He is bringing correction into that area. Now, we see many times that God can bring correction or that correction can happen by a disruptor or a disruptive person making big moves. We are seeing the same thing now with Elon Musk. Controversial, however, he is a disruptor. Twitter, one of the largest communication platforms in the world has been acquired by Elon Musk, a disruptor. So we have this word of “disruption.” We have this word of “correction.” But I also think there’s also something God is doing which is cleansing.
My source said he thinks it is no accident that Musk brought a sink into Twitter HQ, saying it is a sign of the cleansing to come.
I think it’s very, very interesting that the first thing Elon did was walk into Twitter HQ with a sink. As I’ve been praying about the sink, two things come to mind. When we talk about the sink, we say ‘hey throw the kitchen sink in there,’ especially when cooking. What does that mean? We are throwing any and everything together, and I believe they have been throwing any and every thing out there to drown out the truth.
Many narratives, many opinions, many things are being thrown in there, but I believe this is a strategy of drowning out the truth. There has been a history of censorship when it comes to big tech companies, specifically Twitter, controlling narratives. So, I believe the sink that Elon is bringing into Twitter headquarters is a prophetic sign that there is cleansing to come, specifically around the controlling of communications to our nation. This is also important as we move into a new election cycle coming up here in two years. We need to be aware that God is cleansing communication cycles such that I believe places that have been stifled can be heard.
So, let’s pray for this disruption, correction and cleansing to spread throughout the tech industry. We are at a pivotal moment. We can’t miss it!
With that in mind, let us pray:
-Father we ask You to disrupt, correct, and cleanse Twitter! Do it Lord, for Your glory, Your Kingdom, and Your people!
-Lord, don’t just do it at Twitter but all of Big Tech! Establish Your throne over the mountain of technology and information in this nation.
-Father, we pray that You would bring these tech companies into proper alignment financially, spiritually, and in their relationship with the government. Bring balance and restraint, Lord, and let Your wisdom reign.

Each day technology and many words in the news are confusing to me so I really appreciate your explanation of disruption, correction and cleansing. I have said only God can straighten this mess out and that is the way I have been praying. I prayed your prayer out loud to God and for Elon Musk’s protection in this crazy world. God has blessed America and loves America so is bringing us His people to our knees. I am 94 and have never seen anything like this. Thank you and God bless you indeed.
Elon Musk realizes that life is short and he only has a very limited time to try to make life better here on earth. I wish he could balance his time or have time for his Country and his Family and God. Yes he is spending way over the average time at his work with Tesla, Space-X, and now Twitter. But also he is a gift from God to advance the lives of people here on earth. But is he a, “Born Again Christian”?

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senators Rob Portman (R-OH) and Chris Murphy (D-CT) today announced that their Countering Disinformation and Propaganda Act – legislation designed to help American allies counter foreign government propaganda from Russia, China, and other nations – has been signed into law as part of the FY 2017 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) Conference Report. The bipartisan bill, which was introduced by Senators Portman and Murphy in March, will improve the ability of the United States to counter foreign propaganda and disinformation from our enemies by establishing an interagency center housed at the State Department to coordinate and synchronize counter-propaganda efforts throughout the U.S. government. To support these efforts, the bill also creates a grant program for NGOs, think tanks, civil society and other experts outside government who are engaged in counter-propaganda related work. This will better leverage existing expertise and empower our allies overseas to defend themselves from foreign manipulation. By building up independent, objective journalism in places like eastern Europe, we can start to fight back by exposing these fake narratives and empowering local communities to protect themselves,” said Murphy. “I’m proud that our bill was signed into law, and I look forward to working with Senator Portman to make sure these tools and new resources are effectively used to get out the truth.”
NOTE: The bipartisan Countering Disinformation and Propaganda Act is organized around two main priorities to help achieve the goal of combatting the constantly evolving threat of foreign disinformation from our enemies:
The first priority is developing a whole-of-government strategy for countering THE foreign propaganda and disinformation being wages against us and our allies by our enemies. The bill would increase the authority, resources, and mandate of the Global Engagement Center to include state actors like Russia and China as well as non-state actors. The Center will be led by the State Department, but with the active senior level participation of the Department of Defense, USAID, the Broadcasting Board of Governors, the Intelligence Community, and other relevant agencies. The Center will develop, integrate, and synchronize whole-of-government initiatives to expose and counter foreign disinformation operations by our enemies and proactively advance fact-based narratives that support U.S. allies and interests.
Second, the legislation seeks to leverage expertise from outside government to create more adaptive and responsive U.S. strategy options. The legislation establishes a fund to help train local journalists and provide grants and contracts to NGOs, civil society organizations, think tanks, private sector companies, media organizations, and other experts outside the U.S. government with experience in identifying and analyzing the latest trends in foreign government disinformation techniques. This fund will complement and support the Center’s role by integrating capabilities and expertise available outside the U.S. government into the strategy-making process. It will also empower a decentralized network of private sector experts and integrate their expertise into the strategy-making process.

It seems that Elon Musk has some values and does things right on the outside (just not sure about what his feelings are in the inside). He has done some great things for mankind and I commend him for that. Not quite sure he is a Christian (his costume says no) but he can always come around to accepting JESUS as his Lord and Savior. Elon is a smart guy and I’m sure we all could learn from him. I pray that he means well and leads us down a righteous path.
God has brought Elon Musk to the scene for His purposes but we must keep in mind that he is one of those in the forefront of the AI movement. We do pray for his acceptance of Jesus as Lord and Savior.

A word of encouragement. The Lord is great! He will lead us into victory. But to establish his Kingdom, we must stand and decree or it will not happen. We can pray for that. Meanswhile, he needs prtoection that he is not swayed and can withstand all the things being thrown at him by the devil. He still has good intentions and he needs to stand strong just like Trump.. I was very excited about Elon buying Twitter and making Twitter free again. I waited about a week after I heard about the purchase being final and joined Twitter again. I’m very hopeful because Twitter is a pretty good platform if ran and managed properly. Which that is my hope and prayer that Twitter and Elon will continue to improve in a positive way. I also pray that after seeing Twitters quick turnaround the other Big Tech Companies and Big Corporations will see that getting political and trying to cancel someone else’s opinion and censoring is not exactly the best way to fix things and that it will not age well. Then by the Grace of God may they actually prioritize the users not just their own interests. I also realize that there are celebrities and those who express their opinions very strongly so I realize that it’s not all entirely these companies faults. However one truth in this is if you choose to worship man out of fear of rejection vs. Trusting in God and knowing the difference between right and wrong and having that discernment to be able to say that their opinion matters but that does not mean everyone should have to be forced to agree with it.
It seems Elon Musk has some Godly values. I think he’s friends with some Christian folks at The Babylon Bee. I’m praying that he will accept Christ as his Savior if he hasn’t already.
I am hopeful that it will lead to more openness in communication and less censorship of those with whom the tech giant leadership disagrees.
I have watched this story from the beginning. I have hope that Mr. Musk is an answer to the problems we are seeing today.
Journalist Whitney Webb spoke this week of this. She takes a deeper look and sees some of the people behind and around Elon Musk. There is a serious possibility that Musk takes the platform much further to an all encompassing platform similar to a Chinese platform that could eventually be much more controlling. On the surface we may see more free speech but we must be vigilant and keep our eyes wide open.

In my job, I support a number of Big Tech company projects. I have been praying for a revival to take places among the leaders and especially the younger generation that work at these companies and adopt their worldview. Imagine how different their influence would be if there was a massive outpouring of the Holy Spirit within these corporations! God can do it!
We have been praying among many other things for the Truth to be known. We know that the truth is being censored in many ways. We too, have prayed that the enemies of the truth would be confused and fight among themselves and that their counsel would be null and void. We also are praying that all who have been deceived in our nation would come to know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. We are asking for mercy for the lost and to set the captives free. The lost people in our nation are not the enemy. Satan is the enemy. We believe too that God can use whomever He wants to perform His will. The King’s heart is in the hand of the Lord, like rivers of water; He turns it wherever He wishes. Therefore, a disruption of this type is helpful in confusing and thwarting the lies. A correction and cleansing would be helpful in allowing the truth to be heard. Please Lord, let the truth be heard. Save the lost. Save Elon Musk and his family. Thank you for your mercy and hearing our cry!
Elon Musk sits on top of the world with SpaceX, in the air with Twitter and on the world with Tesla. Do you see a problem with that? With the electric car limiting your travel, Twitter limiting your speech and SpaceX monitoring your movements, he is the China regime in the making in the Western world.

Just after Musk fired the twitter board I was permanently suspended for persisting in speaking out about the 2020 election and deSouza’s “2000 Mules”. My tweets were termed violent, abusive and voter suppressive.

Human nature is human nature on all sides. Those now in charge will be tempted to stifle other voices, too, and to do what the other “side” has done. Also, influences from abroad will still try to use it both with bots and humans.
Christians need to realize that all these “voices’ need to be put up to this barometer: “My sheep know MY voice.” Siren songs can come from all camps and draw us to follow after ” the world, the flesh, and the devil” which manifests itself in so many ways. We all, too, can be tempted to become “the accuser” of “other” and to malign others’ motives when we do not know them. God has led me to pray for politicians of all stripes this way: “Lord, show them their hearts.” It sounds self-righteous and like a finger-pointing prayer, but, in truth, the first person the Lord goes after when I pray this is MOI. None of us will repent until we see our hearts, and that is not always a guarantee that we will repent, but when we do, we look back and see it was indeed our first step. All of us who name Christ as Lord are in process and forget when we “accuse” another Christian, a real one, of not living the Christian life, that that individual is in process, too, and likely wearing binders about some aspect of his/her life (just as we may be).
I have been led to pray for hours both for Putin and Mr. Biden since March,…asking Jesus to plead for them since they but name Jesus as the head of their faiths. The “twitter-like” feeds and narratives that guide their lives, as in ours, need course correction. What praying for them has done for me is to give me a heart of mercy toward them, wanting the Lord to shower them with his mercy in the midst of course correction. Do we see we are just as “blind” as they are about our own sins? Lord, have mercy on us all and bring us to the places and spaces you would have us fill. Make perfect intercession for them/us when we don’t know how to pray. Your words are Truth alone. Guide us into all Truth and keep us from all sins of presumption.

I agree with what you say but I also pray for all those people that were laid off from Twitter. Most of them or just ordinary working people within one day and don’t have a job. Let us not forget about the ordinary people caught up in this

I have reservations about Mr. Musk, however, I know that God used the Assyrian army and the Babylonian army to bring correction to God’s people and the surrounding nations. God can and will use anyone that He chooses to accomplish His purposes.
I am thankful that God broke through the armor of the tech communication world so that truth could once again be seen and heard. If Twitter is the THE social media of the “movers and shakers” then I smile that the Lord chose THAT one to be the one to allow truth to flow freely again.
I see the Lord at work. I do not exalt a man nor do I put my trust in a man. I place my hope and trust in the Almighty God and I marvel and celebrate His strategic moves and victories. I pray for Mr. Musk to be like Nebuchadnezzar, who discovered that Yahweh is THE ONLY God and served Him at the end of his days. Mr. Musk needs an encounter with the Lord like that.
