I Prayed have prayed
Lord, though we grieve the outcome of these last elections, we fix our eyes on You and set our hope in You, amen.
Reading Time: 5 minutes

On November 4, 2025, the Democrats won big. Nationwide, believers felt a collective grief over what this means for their states, the nation, and future elections. While the November elections have come and gone, the battle is far from over. Intercessors in New York, New Jersey, Virginia, and California are looking to the Lord and continuing to stand in the gap for their states. The statistics have come out, and here is what we know and, more importantly, how to pray about it.

Do you want state prayer alerts?

First, let’s take a look back at last year’s elections and see how they differ. In the Circle online publication, it was the youth who made the difference in the  2024 Presidential election. The publication says ‘youth,’ but the age groups refer to Gen Z and Millennials. That’s right, our young people were a huge driving force behind the 2024 elections — specifically, young men, voting republican or conservative. Their concerns were the economy and inflation. Younger Latinos also prioritized the economy. In contrast, more young women voted for Democrats.

Women Made the Difference in 2025

The 2025 elections saw a democratic socialist elected Mayor of New York, along with other major losses. While younger voters once again showed up, the statistics released so far indicate that young women were the difference-makers in 2025. Both Forbes and Vogue declared this a massive win for Democratic women and said they are a key to future success. 80% of the voters for Mamdani were young voters, mainly Gen Z, and 84% of the total vote was cast by young women, according to Circle. Most women under 30 also voted Democrat in New Jersey and Virginia. Young people in California were also the strongest supporters and voters in favor of Proposition 50.

The votes were cast in Virginia and New Jersey, both of which had 60% of women, while men made up the remaining 40%. Women voted for reproductive rights and gender equality. LGBTQ and immigration policies were also responsible for the Democratic wins. Young people are showing up to vote, and that is something to thank God for, but they are voting with social justice on their minds, and they are voting for anti-biblical values.  The younger generations need our prayers.

First things first, our young people need Jesus. Without Him at the center, nothing else will matter or make sense to them.

But the natural [unbelieving] man does not accept the things [the teachings and revelations] of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness [absurd and illogical] to him; and he is incapable of understanding them, because they are spiritually discerned and appreciated, [and he is unqualified to judge spiritual matters] (1 Corinthians 2:14 AMP)

  • Pray for the salvation of our youth and young adults, both men and women.

But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them (2 Corinthians 4:3-4).

  • Pray for an unveiling of truth and for spiritual blindness to be broken off of them.

A majority of young women voted against life, and they ironically voted for women who are mothers themselves, yet vowed to protect “reproductive rights.”

And I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit in you. I will take out your stony, stubborn heart and give you a tender, responsive heart (Ezekiel 36:26 NLT).

  • Pray for a generation of young women who will advocate for life.
  • Pray for hearts of stone in women to become hearts of flesh, Lord, give them a mother’s heart.

Young women and men voted for social justice rather than biblical justice. While both care for the oppressed, biblical justice is centered around God’s true definition of justice, where there is no impartiality or human agenda. It is centered around His nature, His holiness, and righteousness, and not man’s.

The LORD executes righteousness and justice for all the oppressed. He made known His ways [of righteousness and justice] to Moses, His acts to the children of Israel (Psalm 103:6-7 AMP).

  • Pray that young people will be taught to know and understand God’s ways and vote accordingly.

The battleground for our young people’s souls begins with their education.

Now that we know how millennials and Gen Z are voting, we must continue to intercede. It is becoming increasingly apparent that our schools and college campuses are focusing less on education and more on indoctrination. Because they are being told that Marxism and Socialism will be the answer to America’s economic problems, they are voting that way. Because feminism thrives and “gender equality” is pushed in schools and colleges, young women vote in favor. Because life is not valued in the womb, but taught as a “right,” women vote to protect that right. It is a battle for the truth.

Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free (John 8:32).

  • Pray for teachers, professors, and those who influence our young people.
  • Pray that lying lips will be silenced. False doctrines, misinformation, and propaganda will be exposed and cut off.
  • Pray and vote in your local elections. What happens in our schools is due to who is elected to the school board, city council, and other positions.

While these elections were a victory for young women, we can thank God that young people are seeing the value of making their voice heard by showing up to vote. While they are not voting as we would have hoped, the point is they are showing up. Men were outnumbered, and let’s not forget the astounding number of Christians who do not vote at all.

  • Pray for men to rise and lead the way. Men are called by God to be leaders, and when they sit back and let women lead, it is out of alignment with God’s will.
  • Pray for Christians to wake up and show up at the polls.

Gen Alpha will be voting soon. How will they be influenced to vote? Will they be voting in alignment with biblical truth, voting their feelings, or will they be like many Christians and not vote at all? Who will influence them, the world or the church?

In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven (Matthew 5:16)

  • Pray for believers, mothers, fathers, siblings, and Christians to seriously disciple these younger generations and instruct them in the ways of God.

Despite the results of these votes among young women and men, let’s not forget that they are experiencing revival. There is a war for the children, youth, and young adults happening right now.  This young generation was prophesied to be a part of a third great awakening. Could this be the reason for the warfare?

For I will pour out water to quench your thirst and to irrigate your parched fields. And I will pour out my Spirit on your descendants, and my blessing on your children. They will thrive like watered grass, like willows on a riverbank (Isaiah 44:3-4)

  • Pray for a continued outpouring of God’s Spirit on our young people in schools and college campuses.

Check those that voted 2 and more times. I don’t believe that the democrats have lawfully won an election since Obama ran for President. FATHER GOD please expose every way that democrats have cheated on elections and let those elections be recounted. Also let the Federal law state that identification must be presented to vote in all national elections in JESUS NAME! Amen!

No credible evidence of cheating has been revealed in these latest elections. You simply state this because you don’t like the outcome. This is not Christianity. It is shameful. Donald Trump shows up at a football game and is loudly booed. He is an incredibly unpopular president, because the policies he is putting in place are both unGodly and unpopular. Shameful that Christians engage in this type of behavior, trying to twist the truth simply because they do not like it.

Roberta, it is not honoring to God to pass on lies and conspiracy theories. Christians should be committed to the truth – even if you don’t like it.

“On November 4, 2025, the Democrats won big. Nationwide, believers felt a collective grief…” Really? If a Christian community experiences collective grief because Democrats won big, then that community has seriously compromised their faith. What unites Christians is their allegiance to Jesus, not a political party. It is sad that this site so often seems to state that Christians should be united under their allegiance to the Republican party or Donald Trump. Trump is defended at all costs here. Nothing is ever reported negatively about Republicans but negative statements about Democrats appear all the time. No mention has ever been made about the Republican group chat making positive statements about Hitler, rape, torturing political opponents. IFA declares itself as a non-partisan religious organization to avoid paying taxes. And then they report in a partisan fashion. This is shameful behavior for Christians to engage in. Again, why is it controversial on a Christian site to say that Christ is what unites us and not our allegiance to a political party.

The Democrat Party voted at their convention in 2012 to remove all mention of GOD from their platform, while Republicans have embraced GOD; having prayers and the Bible prominently embraced during the Republican conventions. Read your Bible where GOD and Faith is prominent in all aspects of life. So it should be in all aspects of our lives. The democrats support killing babies in the womb through the ninth month and even birth. The democrats support men in women’s spaces exposing their genitalia to women and girls. The democrats support lgbtq parades where completely naked men and women parade through the public streets. The democrats support mutilating children to attempt to become a sex they weren’t born with. And on and on and on. Democrats support evil and the devil while Republicans support good and GOD and JESUS! FATHER GOD please send laborers to democrats for salvation. Let them see how their beliefs are against YOU and YOUR WORD in the MIGHTY NAME OF JESUS! Amen!

Read YOUR Bible. Nowhere does the Bible indicate that lying is ok. IFA reports itself to the government as a non-partisan religious group to avoid paying taxes and it clearly takes partisan stands. That is lying. It is wrong, according to the Bible. And your statements about Democrats are clearly misleading. In many places, the Bible teaches that God rejects people’s worship because although, they act religious to justify themselves, they actually go against the teachings of God. Using the name of God does not guarantee God’s approval, this is clear in the Bible. Jesus told the story about the man who had 2 sons and asked them to go work in the field, one said no and actually did what the father wanted, the other said yes and did not do what God wanted. Words mean nothing, actions count. And since you want to read the Bible, read those stories about where people offer sacrifices to God that are rejected, look at why God rejects their worship, the issues are pretty consistent and not what is advanced by the Republican party and are more in line with the Democratic party stands. Which again, is not the issue, what is the issue is our commitment to Christ is what should unite us and not our political stands. On this site, allegiance to Donald Trump and the Republican party is more important than allegiance to Jesus.

If IFA does claim to be a non-partisan religious organisation to avoid tax then it is a shocking failure of ethics. May we expect IFA to face legal action?.

IFA has 501.3 status, granted to non-partisan religious organizations. IFA is granted that status as a religious organization, they have to claim to be religious to get this status to avoid taxes. It is somewhat difficult to get this status revoked. My guess is that a lawyer dedicated to the case could make it happen but there would likely be no legal action, they would just have their status revoked. It is unethical for IFA to report to the government as a religious organization and then be as blatantly biased as they are.

Thank you for this info Gloria. I am researching something similar and as you discovered, women are a key piece of the puzzle when it comes to voting. Your prayer points are an excellent way to intercede on this issue. Great research!

Father, equip our young men to be leaders by Holy Spirit. Bless our families with peace and unity in you to disciple their own children in wisdom and love. I pray for godly examples for our young women that they would want to marry and have children, that they would see the blessed nature of your will. Turn hearts to your word to live in faith and holiness. Raise up godly men and women that will command respect by who they are in Christ. May all who call themselves after Christ seek to live in your wisdom and holiness.

Much of this article and the prayer requests are helpful. This perspective, however, is one of the reasons young women are uninterested in biblical Christianity: “Men are called by God to be leaders, and when they sit back and let women lead, it is out of alignment with God’s will.” There isn’t space here to discuss the larger meanings of leadership from a biblical perspective, but it is not out of alignment with God‘s will for women to lead in places they are called and gifted. And yes, men need to rise up and take their places of leadership as well.

It has been shown that women will follow a man who truly leads. Yes, some women are very capable of leadership, but there is Biblical truth that God calls men to lead.

And Esther saved her nation. And Deborah was a Judge. And Priscilla preached with her husband Aquilla. Only GOD orders our steps. Not tradition or anything g else.

Thank you for this article, for the encouragement to pray specifically. I’ve been praying for this student revival since the late 1990’s. More so now that the fire is lit. Lord, have Your way among our youth. Transfer them from the kingdom of darkness into the Kingdom of light which is in Your dear Son, my Savior, Jesus Christ. Thank You for all You are doing in our midst. I’m watching and waiting for the “bon fire” of revival and spiritual awakening. Hallelujah! Amen.
