Republican senators filibustered a major voting bill on Wednesday, blocking Democrats’ plans to allow same-day voter registration and to make Election Day a holiday.

It is the third time Democrats have tried to overhaul voting laws this year and the third time Republicans blocked them.

The issue has become one of the key battle lines in American politics since then President Trump claimed he had been robbed of election victory last year by voter fraud.

Vice President Kamala Harris was present for the vote and said Democrats would keep pushing for reform.

‘We’re not going to give up,’ she said.

‘We’re not deterred, but there’s still a lot of work to do, and I think it’s really a sad day.’ . . .

At a time when Republican-controlled state legislatures were introducing tighter election security, egged on by Trump and his unverified claims of fraud, Democrats sought a federal bill to protect voter access.

But it stalled in the Senate, where several Democrats said they could not stomach changes to the rules to prevent Republican filibusters.

Since then they have sought changes that would make it more palatable to the GOP.

The latest version sets out national rules for running elections, limit party influence over delineating congressional districts and force disclosure of many anonymous donors. . . .

Some of the changes were pushed by Sen. Joe Manchin, a key centrist Democratic senator, including limiting – rather than banning – voter ID requirements.

It still allows same-day voter registration and no-excuse mail voting, which are opposed by Republicans.

They have repeatedly accused Democrats of trying to rig the system against them.

Conservatives were quick to celebrate the 51-49 vote, which meant the bill would not move forward.

Alfredo Ortiz, president of the Job Creators Network, said Republicans had prevented a national takeover of elections.

What are your thoughts about the Senate Republicans blocking this voting bill?

I think it’s crucial to ensure election integrity. 1 vote per CITIZEN of the United States. Voter ID should also be required to vote in any US election. What’s the need to continuously rehash this defeated bill? There isn’t any.

Once again, WHY is this proposed piece of legislation even being considered again? Why do these failed pieces of proposed legislation continue to “hang around”, when they have been defeated? I praise God that it has been defeated. My big concern, is WHY are our legislators forced to consider the same failed nonsense legislation over and over? I would hope that they would have better tasks to perform- like legislating laws that might just benefit this nation. Dear Lord, please, show our elected officials in Washington, that there are more beneficial usages of their time and efforts than continuing to consider over and over, failed legislation , whereby they are wasting our taxpayer dollars. In Jesus’ name.

Father, You say, “Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who turn darkness to light and light to darkness…” And Your Son, our Savior tells us, “the eye is the lamp of the body. If our eyes are good, our whole body will be full of light. But if our eyes are bad, our whole body will be full of darkness…” When I was still deeply in sin, You saved me. You drew me near and You enabled me to confess Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. You did this all for me. I humbly pray You would do the same today in the lives of our darkened leaders. I humbly pray You will open their eyes to see the light of Christ and expose ALL the darkness hidden in them. Father, You are patient with us, You don’t want anyone to perish but everyone to come to repentance. So I pray it would please You to save these lives today and I pray this great salvation would be to Your Glory Father God, in the Name of Jesus Christ, The Messiah. Amen

All glory to God! Thank You, Father, for the unity and courage of conviction in the men and women who filibustered for truth in the elections of the United States of America. Make us mindful to pray for the righteous and the wicked leaders. In the name of Jesus, Amen

Voter fraud has given Satan a greater stronghold on the America God created. We must be diligent in our warfare for our country or it will disappear before our eyes… Use 2 Corinthians 10:1-6 ….v4.. the weapons of our warfare are mighty to the pulling down of strongholds . We can even take captive the evil influences which are against the knowledge of God,v5. When we realize this and obey God , he will avenge us of our adversary, v6. !!!!
Be blessed this day my fellow warriors!!!!!
