Rep. Mark Green (R-Tenn.) is set to introduce a bill to help companies move their manufacturing from China to the United States as momentum builds for the country to “decouple” from the Chinese regime as a result of the pandemic. Green told The Epoch Times that his forthcoming bill would allow firms to deduct the entire cost of capital spending associated with relocating from China—known as “immediate expensing”—to lure companies to move to the United States. The bill would pay for this with money collected from U.S. tariffs on Chinese imports, he proposed.

The idea of covering 100 percent of moving costs was also recently endorsed by White House economic adviser Larry Kudlow, who said it would be “a very good thing for American companies.”
The move comes as the Trump administration pushes to cut its supply chain dependence on China. The pandemic’s disruption of global supply chains along with the Chinese regime’s mishandling of the outbreak has propelled the United States and other countries to find alternative manufacturing bases.
“Any efforts to decouple is … wise for us, both from an economic standpoint and from a national security standpoint,” Green said.
He said the bill was slated to be introduced by the end of the week.

Green recently introduced another bill aimed to stop China from acquiring U.S. companies vital to national security, as asset prices fall due to the pandemic.
“Right now, they are on a buying spree across the globe for companies with a significant national security implication,” he said.
The congressman cited as an example United Airlines’ recent sale and lease back of 22 planes to Bank of China Aviation, the Hong Kong-listed unit of Chinese state-owned Bank of China.
“Now China has 22 large aircrafts that they could take off the market if they wanted to hurt the United States,” Green said.
The head of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) also warned of such developments.
“Some may seek to use the economic downturn as an opening to invest in our critical industries and infrastructure,” NATO General Secretary Jens Stoltenberg said on April 15.
Green’s SOS ACT (Secure Our Systems Against China’s Tactics) would incentivize Americans to invest in companies critical to national security by having the Treasury back 50 percent of the investment. In this way, if the investments fail, investors can recover half of their initial costs back, Green said. To pay for this initiative, the bill would set aside $10 billion from the CARES Act, the virus-related relief package.
Making Beijing Pay
The congressman criticized efforts to blame President Donald Trump for his handling of the pandemic when the attention should be focused on the Chinese regime’s coverup, which caused the global spread of the disease.
“I think this is a strategic effort of the media to frame Trump for something that’s not his fault,” Green said. “China clearly could have stopped this.”
He said the regime’s failure to disclose what it knew about the virus in the early stages, including its contagiousness and severity, meant that the United States was making decisions based on incomplete information. . .

We should get as many of our companies back from China as possible. They have proven not be trusted.
They are collaberating with the deep state & the democrats to keep this so called pandemic going to bankrupt America & cause small businesses to fail.

I have wondered for a very long time why we were selling out to China. So much of our production has been moved there. And more and more of our needs are being produced in China, rarely do you see a tag that says made in the USA. We have become way too dependant on imports from China and other nations for our vital products.
WE SHOULD CUT OUR TRADE WITH CHINA…. AMERICA SHOULD GEAR UP AND START MAKING OUR SUPPLIES HERE IN AMERICA. IT HAS BEEN YEARS THAT THE MANUFACTURE GROUPS WENT TO CHINA TO MAKE MORE PROFIT.. THEY SOLD OUT AMERICA…. OTHER PRESIDENTS MADE IT POSSIBLE FOR THE BAD TRADE DEALS…..MONEY AND GREED….THEY ARE DEALING WITH THE ENEMY….. WE SHOULD NOW SEE THE TRUE WRITING ON THE WALL DEALING WITH CHINA………….THEIR LEADERS HAVE BEEN AGAINST AMERICA SHORTLY AFTER WWII. While I myself buy US as much as I can, I don’t want to support Communist China, and I do have suspicions based on info I have been reading about the questionable response towards the US about this virus biz, I don’t know how to respond to this bill. And I did and will vote for Trump again. I believe he is trying to help everyone. Yes it seems like a good plan on paper. OTOH as others have mentioned there seems to be a lot of red tape involved in building a business here. I mean really, paying almost double for say deodorant than I did a couple of years ago. Why does the consumer need to keep paying more for the same things that they buy for years? I support business building. But not at the expense of my pocketbook. The GREED factor in this country is far from attractive? More about greed than relationship? And the produce is really lousy tasting and yuckier, especially from California. Like the farmers don’t rotate the soil. And the consumer doesn’t notice the difference?i do! But does that mean you pay more for best produce? Idk. There are over 1500 verses in the Bible about finances. There were no banks in the Garden of Eden. Did God intend for us to be greedy? And how about the price of a stamp???? And how the PO wants their pensions? Has anyone noticed how disagreeable the post office people are and how they don’t care? And we are paying for that?

Who you going to train to work? Where are the manufacturing facilities? Need to build and rebuild,so that takes time. Government contracts out of this world in cost. Need steel production, steel mills closed by EPA. China has the worst pollution, we will once again. Nothing has helped the air and water pollution here by sending all our manufacturing elsewhere. You have instant buildings and education in your pocket???!!!
The medicines, and medical supply chain absolutely necessary. In the news too is China’s control of our food chain, the company’s they own here must be stopped from controlling production and delivery of food being harvested and then distributed to all of America. Any and all food and medicine chain or communication firms owned, operated, or otherwise controlled by China need to go into receivership, and we should never allow any country to do this inside the United States again. End times in the Bible covers all these things, and Christians need to wise up when they vote this time.

I read recently where New Zealand will no longer allow foreigners to even buy a house there.

Other countries should not be allowed to buy companies and land in the USA. Thailand does not allow those from other countries to buy land. They must have a Thai national buy it. I appreciate what President Trump, and others, are trying to do, bringing industry back to the USA.
We manufacture in China. We are a small to medium business located in TN. It will take time to bruins up a factory. and our laws will prohibit some items due to EPA.

Yes, there is a lot un-said here. We were sold out because of greed, and I question whether that has changed. We need to ask God for moral men and women in politics and business. Many people today believe all that matters is the profit factor and that excuses any corruption necessary, not like with past generations. Perhaps the Church is no longer “salt.”

We pray that this new bill created by Rep. Mark Green to help the US companies come back to US and create jobs for our people would be approved. The US businesses should not be under China control or any one controll. It is beginning to look like, the US, is the only place where there is TRUE freedom, and there is NO PRICE TAG on that, Because without freedom, there is DEATH and who wants to DIE? Your leading and teaching in this matter of the United States of America to move their manufacturing companies from China is greatly important. Therefore,Father God, I humbly pray that you teach, lead and Grant’s the US leaders wisdom, understanding and knowledge to carry out their plans, so that the purposes of this relocation of the US Complanies from China to the US would be perfect and highly beneficial to the people of America without any regrets or whatsoever, in Jesus name.
