I Prayed have prayed
Father, we pray for these kids, that You would supernaturally move to restore to them what was lost. Help our kids recover, Lord, and don't let them be hurt like this again. Thank You, Lord!

Our children are under attack from every angle. We must cover them with fervent prayer.

From The Center Square. Pandemic learning loss could reduce the lifetime earnings of students by $70,000, according to a study from a Stanford economist.

The study, based on math test scores, projects the losses could total $28 trillion over the course of the century, said Eric Hanushek, the Paul and Jean Hanna senior fellow at the Hoover Institution of Stanford University. …

“Looking across the nation, the average score for eighth-grade math fell for every state, with a national average decline of eight NAEP scale score points,” Hanushek wrote. …

He estimated the losses were equal “to 0.6-0.8 years of schooling lost.” He further estimated that loss could reduce the lifetime earnings of students who attended school during the pandemic by $70,000. …

The lower lifetime earnings could reduce state gross domestic product significantly in the coming years. …

“The abstract nature of the discussion belies both the seriousness of the problem and the certainty of economic harm that lies ahead,” Hanushek wrote. “Without action, not only will individuals in the COVID cohort of students suffer long-term income losses, but also the individual states will see shrunken economic activity.”

The solution is obvious, and easy. If school systems would focus on teaching the basics–reading, math, writing, etc–instead of wasting time on gender ideology and the like, our students would make up the losses quite quickly.

Teachers should quit moaning about the losses and get back to what they should have been doing all along–EDUCATING!

O Lord, grant us a return to common sense! Amen.

Someone once said that if you put all the economists in the world end-to-end, they would still all point in different directions.

Studies like this will be used as a basis to legislate more spending to bolster the influence of the state run school systems.

Maybe we should be praying that we would be more mindful of the Scriptural guidance to be anxious for nothing.
