In a recent memo, Republican consulting firm Targeted Victory accused Google of sending GOP fundraising emails into recipients’ spam folders. Google reportedly did this while allowing similar Democratic fundraising emails to reach recipients properly, calling into question the company’s political bias.

The memo revealed that emails containing links to the Republican platform WinRed were frequently flagged as spam, while identical emails with links to the Democratic platform ActBlue were delivered without issue. “The only difference between the two emails was the link,” the memo stated, adding that this pattern persisted even for high-profile accounts such as those of President Donald J. Trump and Representative Elise Stefanik (R-NY). Targeted Victory warned: “If Gmail is allowed to quietly suppress WinRed links while giving ActBlue a free pass, it will continue to tilt the playing field in ways that voters never see, but campaigns will feel every single day.”

Research has previously identified disparities in email filtering practices. A 2022 study by North Carolina State University found Gmail flagged 59 percent more Republican fundraising emails as spam compared to Democratic ones during the 2020 election cycle. The study’s authors noted that spam filtering algorithms exhibited biases based on political affiliations.

According to the Pulse, Google has denied the allegations, and a spokesman defended the company’s spam protections. Targeted Victory reportedly contacted Google at the end of the June to resolve the situation, although the tech company initially denied responsibility. Later, it did acknowledge that WinRed links were flagged as “suspicious.”

This is far from the first time that Google has been caught favoring the left wing of America politics. In fact, IFA published an article last year showcasing the many ways Google has used its influence and power to prop up Democratic candidates and bury Republicans over the past several decades.

IFA is a digital, online ministry, and millions of believers across the nation use Google’s services every day. Let’s pray against this overt political bias, and let’s pray that conservatives would not be silenced, shamed, or censored!
