I Prayed have prayed
Reading Time: 3 minutes

Angus Buchan is a South African evangelist who is known for the movie about his life, “Faith Like Potatoes.” Many see him as a spiritual father to this nation. Earlier this year, Buchan was challenged by a video posting from a local farmer pleading for Buchan to call the nation to pray for peace due to increased violence and crime.

“I was very challenged by his passionate plea and could not shake it off. Early the next morning, while going for a run, I felt the Holy Spirit speak two things into my heart: First, ‘It’s Time.’ And second, ‘One million people.’ I posted these two words on our social media sites. Within a few hours, thousands upon thousands of positive responses were made from all over the country. Our nation is in a very troubled time, and people are desperate for change. A change only our Lord Jesus Christ can bring,” Buchan said. (This quote is taken from Gateway News; see link below.)

On April 22, 2017, just six short weeks after that posting, 1.7 million people had registered online, and thousands more gathered on a farm in Bloemfontein, South Africa, for Buchan’s “It’s Time” national prayer assembly. His call to prayer brought people from around the world who wanted to stand with their brothers and sisters on behalf of South Africa.

One of those who responded to this call was Lucas Nel, a native South African now living in Virginia. He gives his first-hand account of the experience:

The weather was very pleasant with the sun shining in the cloudless sky and with an occasional breeze blowing to keep us cool as the day got warmer. At one point, Angus started sharing Acts 2:1-4: ‘When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting.’

“As he was sharing this with us, Buchan asked God to “do it again.” The wind started blowing and picking up. We heard a commotion behind us in the crowd and we jumped up from our seats. I saw a ‘whirlwind’ coming towards us from the back of the crowd pulling up umbrellas, scarfs, balloons, and all the flags were stiff because of this wind!

“As it passed over us, I stuck the Christian flag that I have mounted on the monopod of my ActionCam high up in the air. The wind almost pulled it out of my hands! At the same time, I felt a tremendous peace come over me and I could tell this was not the same type of breeze we had experienced throughout the day, but that it was indeed the Holy Spirit moving mightily amongst us!  Angus then led us to pray for our nation.”

Buchan prayed that their country would take the Word of God literally. He prayed that the government would be God-fearing and that Parliament would, once again, open with Bible reading and prayer. He prayed for stability and justice for the armed forces and that the crime, violence, rape, and murder would stop. He prayed for families to be healed and restored and for the strongholds of addictions to pornography and alcoholism to be broken. He prayed that racism would stop and that there would be respect for all people.

Mr. Nel concluded with these words:

“In closing, [Angus] led us to repent for compromising the nation, the family, and the future and he called on everybody to start living in truth and justice. The entire prayer lasted less than 5 minutes.”

After his short message, Buchan allowed people to pray on their own. The crowds prayed – some in whispers, and others loudly. Some were on their knees and others held their hands in the air as they cried to their God. “Here I stand looking at a miracle. The face I am seeing… It is just a miracle,” Buchan said. “Today we are making history, because people said it was impossible to organize such a gathering in six weeks. But here we stand today. What a Jesus miracle!” (This last paragraph taken from Assist News Service; see link below)

The Lord who planted the president in the white house neither sleep nor slumber. Let’s not given in to the devil. He is behind the scene working and he is using these human agents to do his dirty job. We love you president Trump. The devil is under the feet of the master. God bless our president and his team. Amen

Right on FrancesEve Drake, I was calling friends last night as Holy Spirit was urging me, to cry out against the apathy since election amongst many churches not publicly taking a stand in heart-felt prayers for our President and our Nation.

THIS IS URGENT CHURCH! YOU WANTED HIM ELECTED, SO LET’S NOT WALK OFF AND LEAVE HIM ON HIS OWN. THE FUTURE OF THIS NATION ISN’T ALL UPON HIM, IT’S ON YOU, IT’S ON US.

LET’S UNIFY AND SHOW THE ENEMY WE HAVE OUR PRESIDENT’S BACK, AND WE HAVE AMERICA’S BACK. FUTURE GENERATIONS WILL THANK YOU IN HEAVEN LATER.

That is what is DESPERATELY needed in the USA today. It seems that after the election people have just gone back into their cozy “safe places”.

Don’t you realize that your entire Republic is on the line this week?

If you do not start praying for President Trump — INTERCEDING — you will lose your country to marxists and more than likely have Barack Hussein Obama for your dictator.

It seems unbelievable but given the current events it is likely.

I am not partisan. I don’t come from your country neither do I vote in your country but I pray for your President and your country.
