From Just the News. California’s budget deficit has hit $68 billion, the Legislative Analyst’s Office announced on Thursday.

The figure is substantially higher than the June estimate of $14.3 billion, Politico reported, and comes amid a drop in tax revenues across the Golden State. …
The numbers are something of a black eye to Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom, who last week touted the successes of the Golden State during a televised debate with Florida GOP Gov. Ron DeSantis.
Newsom, the outlet noted, will likely have to make significant spending cuts to account for the unexpected shortfall.

Father God by your word we pray for those subjected to the threat of huge and uncontrolled debt. Only by your light, wisdom, and guidance is there recovery from such things. Hush the voices that belittle the problem. Expose the waste that drains away the life blood of the hard working and industrious people of this or any state and nation. Guide them on the narrow pathway out of this disaster hanging over their future. Amen

The size of the debt is only important if you cannot meet the payments. Presumably they can meet the payments or economise so who cares.
Father God help the leaders to see their excessive spending as a condition of their hearts toward you. Forgive them for their rebelliousness and bring salvation. Amen
Lord we ask you to change their hearts. Hinder their plans for more spending. Thank for problem put it your hands. Jehovah lead us out of bondage to spending.
