From The Hill. Fourteen Democrats voted with Republicans to denounce President Biden’s “open-border policies” Wednesday, delivering a rare legislative rebuke to the leader of their party on the politically prickly matter of immigration and border policy.

The GOP-led resolution — which also urges Biden to “end his administration’s open-border policies” — cleared the chamber in a 225-187 vote, with all Republicans in support.
Democratic “yes” votes came from Reps. Colin Allred (Texas), Yadira Caraveo (Colo.), Angie Craig (Minn.), Henry Cuellar (Texas), Don Davis (N.C.), Jared Golden (Maine), Vicente Gonzalez (Texas), Greg Landsman (Ohio), Susie Lee (Nevada), Jared Moskowitz (Fla.), Wiley Nickel (N.C.), Mary Peltola (Alaska), Marie Gluesenkamp Perez (Wash.) and Eric Sorensen (Ill.). …
The legislation — which spans three pages — takes aim at the Biden administration’s decision to end the Migrant Protection Protocols and stop construction of a wall along the southern border, and accuses it of “abusing the parole authority.” It also alleges the administration of having “lax” immigration and border enforcement policies. …
The blitz comes as immigration and border security prove to be important issues among voters in the 2024 election cycle, and as they emerge as a weak spot for Biden. A CBS News poll released earlier this month found that 68 percent of Americans disapprove of how Biden is handling the situation at the border, with just 32 percent in approval.

Father God, make clear the lies and deceptions concerning this border thing. For it is far deeper and more dangerous to those that perpetrate it that to those protected before you by your righteousness. I thank you that your word clearly state that what people devise as pits and snares comes upon them themselves and by thatvrighteous judgement you bring their destruction upon them by their own doings and their own plans. I feel that these Democrats waited way too long but better late than never, and some might have acted primarily with concern about their own political future, yet whatwcmver their reasons i am thankful they finally stepped up. Father may you increase this type of Democrat objections within this party and begin to purge this party of liberals and big spenders. populate this party with the type of democrats we had years ago like JFK. it is clear todays Democrats are not the same America loving party they used to be. Father my opinions matter little, you alone see all and know all, and you alone have the ability to raise up moral and ethical politicians and prosper them for the future of America, and you alone can radically save the ones currently in office.
