President Joe Biden on Feb. 14 urged Congress to strengthen existing laws concerning gun ownership on the third anniversary of the mass shooting at a high school in Parkland, Florida.

“The Parkland students and so many other young people across the country who have experienced gun violence are carrying forward the history of the American journey. It is a history written by young people in each generation who challenged prevailing dogma to demand a simple truth: we can do better. And we will,” Biden said in a statement.

“This Administration will not wait for the next mass shooting to heed that call. We will take action to end our epidemic of gun violence and make our schools and communities safer. Today, I am calling on Congress to enact commonsense gun law reforms, including requiring background checks on all gun sales, banning assault weapons and high-capacity magazines, and eliminating immunity for gun manufacturers who knowingly put weapons of war on our streets.” . . .

After the shooting, a number of Parkland students and parents began agitating for stricter gun control laws, arguing that Cruz shouldn’t have been able to obtain a gun. . . .

Biden said during his 2020 campaign that he supports stronger gun control; last week, administration officials met with gun control advocates, including Shannon Watts, founder of Moms Demand Action, and John Feinblatt, president of Everytown for Gun Safety.

White House press secretary Jen Psaki told reporters later that the administration is ready to move on the “ambitious plan” Biden laid out during the campaign.

Biden said on his campaign website that he will “defeat” the National Rifle Association (NRA). Among his proposed actions is repealing the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act, which protects gun manufacturers from some lawsuits, banning so-called assault weapons, as Congress did for 10 years in 1994, and forcing people to either give up certain guns and magazines or register them with the federal government. . . .

Gun-control advocacy groups are pushing both executive orders and legislative packages they believe will help lead to fewer deaths by gunfire. . . .

Reps. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Fla.) and Ted Deutch (D-Fla.) on Feb. 14 also mourned the shooting anniversary.

“As we honor the anniversary of this tragedy, we must also find the strength as a nation to prevent such tragedies from ever being repeated. With President Biden in the White House, we finally have the opportunity to make real strides to end gun violence. No survivor should endure another year of inaction. The fear of mass gun violence for Americans doing the most normal of activities, as well as gun violence in too many neighborhoods across the country, must be brought to an end with congressional action,” Wasserman Schultz said in a statement.

Deutch added, “On this day, I recommit to ensure that the names of the 17 victims are never forgotten in the halls of Congress and to honor their memory with action that will make our communities safer from gun violence.”

The second amendment is for us to protect ourselves from a corrupt government. Why do you think this ad- ministration is so determined to take away that right?

I do not believe in owning a gun, but I am getting close to purchasing one! There are no other countries to run to for freedom. My parents ran to the USA from Cuba, 90 miles away (legally) to give me opportunities. Check history, Castro asked the citizens what kind of guns people had with the lie that he was going to provide them with ammunition for them. He them had knowledge of what guns were out there and who had them. Here the government via registrations knows what people have. What’s next “Turn your guns in anonymously for a gift certificate” like I have seen. LOL The Founders, who all considered themselves English citizens, had seen the British army disarm the public. They believed this was an improper use of government power. Sound familiar

They are trying to take our rights from us , no matter the way they do it.

We pray Lord for this people that they will come to their senses and open their eyes and realize that the real cause of all these tragedies is the lack of The Bible in the schools and The Commandments posted at the entrance of the public schools and the Courts.
Removing guns from people is not the solution for this matter.
Even when someone enters the school and the courts they can read:
“Do not kill”
“The cause of all this Lord is the lack of your Precious Word in this country that You have blessed so much.
They are trying to destroy the Constitution of this country in subtle ways Lord.
We stand in The Precious Name of JesusChrist against all this corruption they are trying to implement in the school system to change Your laws Lord,
We stand in Jesus Name against the forces of hell that are trying to destroy this Nation.
In Jesus Mighty Name Amen

Our Bill of Rights gives us the right to own guns. It does not specify what type, therefore no type needs to be registered or banned. It is not guns that shoot to kill, it is criminals. Laws to arrest and prosecute criminals with laws strong enough to deter criminal activity is needed. More police who are given freedom to enforce those laws in high crime areas is needed. Citizens need no restrictions on their on constitutional rights.

Father in the name of Jesus I lift this up to you. We Have a right to bear arms and keep our guns. To provide food on our tables, to kill a rabid animal, or deadly snake. Protect our neighbors from crazy people that want to bring harm. Protect our homes from people just want to barge in. Holy Spirit help end this ignorance of the Democratic Party that they will never gain control over our lives. We will not bow down to the demonic through them in Jesus name. (Let them be like a tumbleweed that blows away like chaff (Psalms 83:1) burns up by the fire mow them down and cause them to disappear, and have every evil thing they wish on your people to go back on them. In Jesus Name

If more money was allowed for law enforcement, And if the guilty would have severe enough punishment, the “epidemic” of gun violence would cease. No need to take the guns away from law abiding citizens.

I sincerely pray our guns will not be confiscated from us. Totally unacceptable. Lord I pray that our politicians will not ignore or disregard our Constitutional rights of owning a firearm. In Jesus name. We need some kind of protection!

Once again, this is unacceptable. Biden is trying to ignore the Constitution. Lord, please give our legislators wisdom and discernment regarding this, and all freedom-restricting issues that Biden proposes. In Jesus’s name we pray.

Father, we know that there are reasonable gun laws now that go broken by those with evil intent and we know that passing more laws doesn’t stop those people or the killing they want to do. We also know that the minds of those people are warped and the6 do not belong to You. We know Your healing power of mind and spirit. So I ask that You come into their lives and change their hearts so that the violence stop, the killing stop, the hatred stop. We ask that You intervene on behalf of those who truly own guns with wisdom and safety. It is a constitutional right. The constitution says nothing about passing a psychological exam that we know woukd be biased to begin with. Make this stop, Lord. Stop these continuing threats to personal freedoms, take these people out of office if their minds and hearts are too hardened. Get them out and replace them with persons who will know that all freedom comes from You. Lord, it’s all part of a bigger plan to control people. And Your word gives us guidelines to live by and yet You give us the freedom to disobey! How marvelous if politicians could understand that and also bow to Your authority only. Remember us, Lord. In Jesus Name

We pray against all attempts to abrogate or abolish by formal or official means; annul by an authoritative act; repeal: to put aside; put an end to any aspects of the Bill of Rights and the Constitution, In Jesus’ Name. We also bind away from the United States and all those in power in the federal and state governments in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ any spirits whose name or function is to abrogate our rights. We cast these evil spirits into the abyss in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ and we ask You, Lord, to fill all vacated spaces with Your Holy Spirit. Accomplish this by the power of the Blood and for Your Name’s sake. Amen and Amen

I pray that people would understand that guns do not murder others, people do. If a person is intent on destroying life, they will find a way. Also, past evil regimes always started with disarming the public. The most recent example was the National Democratic Party of Germany (NAZIS). Make no mistake, those intent on lawlessness will always find a way to purchase weapons. Disarming the public will ultimately make them readily accessible victims…

As I was growing up I remember seeing photos of piles of Jewish people who had been murdered because they had no way of defending themselves. All their businesses & guns had been taken from them. People had been told that they were less than human & hate was built up towards them. Nazis indoctrinated the German people to believe the lies. Is it possible that their hatred was because Jesus was Jewish? I don’t leave anything less than that up to the devil.
Well if the guns are taken away from Constitutional abiding citizens then they will have no way of protecting themselves; the criminals will always have a way of getting the guns they want; then where will we be? We put our trust in the Lord of the Angel armies. He is our only hope in a world gone crazy!!!

Mary Doris Dock, it certainly wasn’t true Scripture believing followers of Jesus that committed those horrible murders. I believe that I have been grafted as a wild olive branch onto the root of Yishai, the root of David & Yahusha Ha Messiach. I believe we are sisters & will see each other one day! Praise The Most High! You are absolutely correct about disarming any others than the lawless! Bless you my Sister!

Thank you for your message. God knows our hearts; may our motives always please Him. He is more than enough & will never allow us to be overcome with any evil that will try to confront us. He’s all we need; may He enlighten us with all the aspects of His wonderful personality. Can’t wait to look into His beautiful eyes & see His love just flowing. What a day that will be!!!

Father Yhovah, I know that when Messiah was sending out the disciples the second time He told them to sell their cloak and by a sword, recorded in Luke 22:36. We are expected to defend ourselves. i pray for Angels to bind and render powerless those attempting to take away our 2nd amendment rights. I pray for our God-based Constitution to stand firmly, not defiled by the evil government. I pray in Messiah’s authority, so be it!

Until there is a real and enforced consequence to violence the criminal will continue to ignore any laws, common sense or not. Only by making the results real and final will the criminal think hard before violence. Yes, I support capital punishment. Trace America’s historic increase in violence and you WILL find a relationship to reduced consequences. As a Christian I believe that all of us face a Judge Whose knowledge is complete and righteous. Yes, there are errors in some executions, but the Judge of all the earth will do right. Consider the numbers of innocent victims of violent crimes compared to the innocent erroneously executed individuals. We want justice, yes, but ultimately we appeal to the God of Heaven.

Using this terrible event to push more gun laws is wrong, there is NOT a single gun law written that an evil person will not ignore to commit their heinous act, law enforcement had ample opportunity to follow up on and arrest this young man prior to him committing his evil he made it well know what he wanted to do prior, they dropped the ball (and I fully support police etc..) the threat was never passed on or followed up on by the local FBI field office. We need only look to a place like Chicago where they have the strictest gun laws in the country but the highest gun violence rate to understand that more “common sense ” guns law need to be written, we only need to enforce the current laws on the books because criminals by nature do not follow laws.
God bless

Biden is attacking the Constitution. We have rights to hold guns for good reason. We live in a world where people choose to do evil. It is always a choice. We cannot prevent all tragedies or deaths perpetrated by people who have an intent to harm. Biden wants the gun manufacturers to be held liable. It’s ridiculous. Should all car makers be liable for deaths caused by their automobiles? My parents always said first they take the guns away and then the communists take over. That’s the plan. RLR

Is this the answer to stop the rise in shootings, or only put law abiding, gun owning citizens at higher risk? Our problem is not the guns but who holds the guns. Our nation is under judgement and unless we repent from the mass murder called abortion, we will continue to decline. According to the CDC, in 2019 there were 891,000 aborted (murdered) unborn children, where as in 2019, accordeing to CDC there were 39,567 firearm deaths.
Repent Christians for supporting the killing of unborn by your vote, the crys of the innocent shed blood is heard in Heaven. Our Gracious Father longs to heal our land but more so He longs to heal our broken hearts and sins. Return to Him for Forgiveness, He is our Jehovah Rapha, and His Love is Amazing.

During OBAMA administration there were much more shootings going on.
Biden has the bad habit of putting the blame on the Trump administration. Blaming Trump for every conceivable think.
Biden’s agenda is pure evil and he has no right to try and change the second amendment.
When Biden got in office he was like a little boy that had to get revenge against Trump. Biden has the mind of a kid and all that he changed has only hurt America.
Now he wants to take the guns away so he can really implement communism in this country. That is my opinion of him. GOD BLESS and keep a hedge around GOD’S PEOPLE.

I have lived in a country where regular citizens do not carry guns, but those who can, have them as a hobby, not so much for self defense. They must be registered. Security guards are ubiquitous, so are smuggled firearms and unregistered ones. Drunken offduty police often injure people. Criminals have all they need. Laws need to be enforced to be effective.
