This is yet another attempt to control language and the narrative. Let’s pray that the Lord would open people’s eyes to the horrors of abortion.
From Blaze News. The Associated Press Stylebook, a style and usage guide used by news organizations, forbade the use of the phrase “late-term abortion.” …
Join others crying out to the Lord day and night.
“Do not use the term ‘late-term abortion.’ The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists defines late term as 41 weeks through 41 weeks and 6 days of gestation, and abortion does not happen in this period,” the official account for the stylebook tweeted.
“Instead, use the term ‘abortion later in pregnancy’ if a general term is needed, but be aware that there are varying definitions of the time period involved,” the organization added. “Be specific when possible.”
Many lashed out at the AP for politicizing speech. …
“Call it crushing a baby’s skull and tearing it limb from limb,” said another detractor.
The pro-life website LifeNews.org responded by criticizing the stylebook for relying on a group it considered left-wing.
“ACOG is a pro-abortion group. As a supposedly unbiased news source you shouldn’t rely on partisan groups to determine your terminology,” it tweeted and later added a link to prove its case. …

Language choices are huge in their ability to influence or propagandize. Very important.
Yah, give us the wisdom to use words which will represent your heart well and be most effective. We need the flow of the Holy Spirit when we speak and when we write. Trusting you for this help!
As far as their changing the wording, technically…in the medical world, either an embryo or a baby is aborted. It sounds like they’re splitting hairs by asking writers to properly and specifically define the stage when the murder takes place.
The AP… IS left-wing. They’d announced the winner of the presidential 2020 election BEFORE the Electoral College had even met.
“Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter.” (Isaiah 5:20) This is what they are doing, not calling the killing of a baby what it is, just that – but instead giving it another name. “A rose by any other name” – The same with “gender affirming care” – nothing caring about it and all it “affirms” is the confusion, lostness, desperation, longing for an identity and to fit in of the individual thinking that body mutilating surgery could provide them with the answers, the happiness, the identity that they are seeking in all the wrong places, aided by adults who push these lies and deception on children who we previously protected from all sorts of things until they were at least eighteen years of age. Changing the language around the taking of pre-born lives doesn’t change the reality that babies are being killed, while our culture calls it “reproductive rights” or “women’s health care.” How ironic, that it is literally the stopping of “reproduction” right in the very process of this miraculous event and there is nothing “healthy” or “caring” about the process/act of abortion. The language doesn’t come close to matching the reality of abortion. God’s word is the only true and Living Word, – Lord give us Your wisdom and Your words to call out this evil and put an end to it. http://www.mtothe5th.wordpress.com
As an obstetrical nurse I can see the point, as the profession has worked hard to clarify its nomenclature. The classification of these abortions based on their classification of gestation would be a) abortion after viability, b) at term abortion or c) near term abortion.
Lord give us wisdom and words to use that no one can cancel as we continue Your Holy and righteous battle to end abortion. Bring the darkness to light and give us the power of the gospel to do greater miracles in these last days. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen.
Regardless, it’s the same baby.
