I Prayed have prayed
Father, we ask you to protect Cathy Miller and others like her who are standing for their constitutional rights. We pray for boldness, wisdom, and favor.

Years ago, we saw LGBT activists attempt to force a Christian baker to make a cake celebrating a gay wedding. Now, history seems to be repeating itself as another Christian baker is facing a similar situation.

Pray for your fellow intercessor.

CBN has the story:

AdĆØle Keim, senior counsel at Becket, told CBN News that baker Cathy Miller, owner of Tastries shop in Bakersfield, California, has been in a years-long battle after declining to make a cake for a same-sex couple.

…

In 2017, the situation came to a head when a same-sex couple requested a wedding cake. Miller reportedly politely declined and offered to instead send them to a willing baker.

But that couple reportedly became frustrated and filed a complaint.

Miller has been fighting for her religious freedom for years. According to CBN, California won on appeal and the state’s Supreme Court declined to hear the case. That leaves Miller with nowhere to go but the U.S. Supreme Court.

Keim argues that the SCOTUS has been sympathetic to cases like Miller’s, referencing the similar case involving Jack Phillips of Masterpiece Cake Shop:

ā€œIt’s the California Civil Rights Department that has gone after Cathy for these past seven or eight years,ā€ she said. ā€œDuring this time, this seven or eight-year period, the U.S. Supreme Court has said twice … when it comes to the wedding vendors who have a conscientious objection, ā€˜Back off. Back off.’ They said that in Masterpiece Cake Shop, which also involved a cake artist in Colorado, and they said it in 303 Creative, which involved a wedding website designer.ā€

The current Supreme Court seems quite sympathetic to religious freedom cases like Miller’s, but it’s not clear whether they’ll decide to hear the case at all.

Miller, meanwhile, is reportedly facing threats and an ā€œendless streamā€ of hate, according to CBN. In light of this, Keim is asking believers across the nation to pray.

Let’s pray for Miller and others like her. Let’s pray that God protects her and that she emerges from this fight victorious!

Father, I lift up AdĆØle Keim for justice in her plight. Again, let the court take the case and make a clear declaration that what she is doing is not wrong, but fits under religious freedom. I pray for her strength and faith that she might face this battle knowing you are by her side and she is being prayed for. We praise you that we can fight these issues and bring righteousness back to our nation.

According to Psalm 58, unjust judges don’t know the meaning of justice, they don’t judge fairly, they plot injustice, they spread violence throughout the land, they are wicked from birth, they lie and do what they want, and they spit venom like a snake. However, there truly is a reward for those who live for God; surely, there is a God who judges justly here on earth. Therefore, I command the fangs of all unjust judges to be broken off and the jaws of these lions smashed. May they all disappear like water into thirsty ground. May their weapons be useless in their hands. I decree they are all swept away faster than a pot heats over burning thorns. Thank you, Papa, that by your Spirit, this Word is accomplished for Cathy Miller, as well as all who are subjected to their injustice. I ask you to restore double for the trouble they have caused her. How awesome are your deeds, O God! Your enemies, these unjust judges, cringe before your mighty power. Hallelujah! In Jesus’ name, amen.
