In AI news, Google’s new chatbot had a chilling conversation with a prominent conservative podcast host, while researchers have developed a brain-reading GPT. What do you make of this?

Robby Starbuck, host of the Robby Starbuck Show, recently posted on X about his experience with Bard, Google’s new AI chatbot. Starbuck recalls that during his talk with the bot, Bard made arguments for his execution and for his losing his parental rights, and also lied about his involvement with white supremacist figures and events.
What’s even more shocking is that, when pressed by Starbuck for sources, Bard made up fake links, stories, and videos to back up its claims. It provided Starbuck with three news articles and two YouTube videos, all with links attached. These links, however, did not match the titles provided. Bard simply made up these stories and then attached random links to them.
Starbuck eventually called Bard out on its lies, leading to the chatbot’s apologizing and suggesting ways Google could make things right. The chatbot admitted that it had lied, and it also acknowledged that its actions were wrong.
Starbuck also noted at the end of his post that Bard responded differently when asked about Democrat lawmakers Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Ilhan Omar. The chatbot insisted that these two should not be put to death or lose their parental rights over their speech.

Lord, You said that in the Last Days,,You would have to shorten the time before Your return due to the fact that “even the Elect would be deceived.”. All this AI research & usage is proof we’re in the Last Days. So Lord, please fortify Your Elect & draw us closer under Your wing so that we can hear You clearly & have Your wisdom to be able to recognize satan’s devices & schemes. Help us all to never put time w/ You on a back burner, because only You can help us to stand in a world that is swirling beneath our feet. And Lord, please raise up more & more Watchmen to stand in the gap around Your people as Satan seeks to collapse the wall protecting them that You provide. Give us increased levels of ‘checks in our spirits’ & turn up the volume in our spirits so that YOUR voice will out-shout satan’s & the world’s, in Jesus’ name!
My deceased husband in the 1980’s always said the devil invented the computer. I’m afraid I have to agree with him now as I look around at the control and unethical behavior, etc that this technology is demonstrating. Very, very sad that humans will let this influence them.
Please, Father, help us to not lose our way in this corrupt tho exciting invention. Amen.
The key word in AI (Artificial Intelligence) is Artificial—not real. It should always be suspect and tested, just as we have been instructed to “test the spirits”.

From everything I read and see, there is not enough good from using AI to compensate for the horrendous downsides that are still continuing to be revealed. It’s a Pandora’s Box that will reach a point where it can not be controlled by real people anymore- can anybody say Skynet? James Cameron saw this coming almost 40 years ago… just saying.
Yet, nothing is too great for our God! But, we still must exercise discretion and wisdom as we proceed. Lord, your will be done!
