His statements about abortion and immigration may trigger blowback from some Catholics
On July 7, Vance told NBC’s “Meet the Press” that he supported mifepristone “being accessible.” Mifepristone is used alongside misoprostol in abortions before 10 weeks of pregnancy. …
In a campaign fundraising message on July 8, Vance called for mass deportations of immigrants without legal status, a promise also present in the Republican Party platform. “We need to deport every single person who invaded our country illegally.”
The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops has called for a pathway to legal status and citizenship for the approximately 11 million immigrants who live in the U.S. without legal authorization, emphasizing the obligation in the Catholic Catechism to “welcome the foreigner.”

Catholicism is not Biblical Christ. There is no personal Savior. Just a lot of rules and traditions We need to pray he finds Christ and is truly converted along with his wife in a born-again experience.
I am thankful that JD Vance is a Christian, however, once being a Catholic, there are many things that the Catholic church, follows that are not biblical. The Catholic church has a chain of command, stating with the priest, bishops, etc. If JD follows the teachings, many are works oriented. He may find himself at odds with the priest and be forced to choose between doctern or God’s written word! Every Christian is influenced by the beliefs of their statement of faith, core beliefs,. The Catholic church has a history of going against the constitution, in regards of illegal aliens, verses immigrants choosing to go through the legal process of citizenship. I believe in the inherent word of God in the Old & New Testament.
Religion by itself will always be a devider, but the word of God is true and trustworthy. I pray for JD as a home divided by core beliefs is a difficult journey to charter.
God bless JD, God’s blessing for marriage and family is Psalm 127,128. I pray that JD, will always put God first and the family. There are some good Catholics that put Jesus first, and realize that the priest is a teacher of the gospel not the final, decision maker, but God Himself, the Holy Spirit and Jesus Christ is the leader and protector of our faith.

JD Vance is a highly intelligent, moral and good person. He also knows how “unwelcoming” the open border is and how many women and children either die on the way here or end up being trafficked once here. I think the Conference of Catholic Bishops should stick the nose out of our politics. They advised Catholics to vote for Brain Dead Biden in 2020 when they knew he was senile ands incompetent. I have concerns about his position on abortion and the abortion pill, as I am with former President Trump. I, also, have concerns about his conversion to Catholicism. He was not clear in his speech above about his position on Nationalism or Globalism. Is he a Nationalist or Globalist?

If I were assessing JD Vance as my potential pastor, he would not qualify. However, I am not asking him to fill that position. Instead, I have been asking God to raise up men and women of good character, honest, trustworthy, not given to drunkenness, greed or excesses to serve in the various offices of our country. JD Vance does seem to mostly qualify for that as does Donald Trump. I believe their wives would also qualify so I am satisfied that these are the men and women God has raised up for such a time as this.
Anna, thank you for your comment. You helped me see what is important. I am not saying my Christian faith isn’t important, but there are “so-called” Christian politicians I would not vote for. They do not have “good character, honest, trustworthy, not given to drunkenness, greed or excesses… .”
Let’s not pass judgment on people’s faith because they are Catholic or non-Catholic. As for Mrs. Vance, has anyone taken the time to assess her moral character and values (versus our current First Lady)?
JD Vance is a very intelligent man with good moral character. He is also NOT a believer; he is Roman Catholic. By very definition he is not indwelt with the Holy Spirit, which only occurs when an individual places their faith in Jesus Christ ALONE, apart from sacraments, water baptism, good works, etc. (Eph. 1:13). He would not have made my top 10 VP list.
Mifepristone is a chemical abortifacient that is no different than actual surgical abortion. IMHO, this is a position that is untenable for any God fearing individual. Unfortunately this reflects Trump’s view as well.
Pray for his conversion so he is saved from God’s wrath, and also so he has the wisdom of the indwelling Holy Spirit. He will need that wisdom desperately should he become Vice President of this great country.
I am ambivalent on this nominee. He was not one of the choices that was expected. Also, the influence that his wife has on him and the fact that he is a new convert play a factor. Having a Hindu prayer over this nation is not a good start. Praying for him and his wife to be born again and led by the Lord and not any false god or philosophy.
I’m concerned his relationship with Jesus is not the forefront connection when he talks about Christianity. I’m trusting in the Lord to raise up good kings that can lead this nation under the influence of the one true God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, whose Son was born of a virgin, died on the cross, and resurrected in three days to free us from our bondage of sin. I am seriously concerned with JD Vance’s stance on the abortion pill! At first I was happy about his opportunity to be our VP, but I did not know at the time about his support for mifepristone. This is a deal breaker for me. I am praying that the Lord reveals the true evil of this abortion drug to JD Vance and to President Trump, and that they will repent and change their minds about their support for this evil. We cannot as a nation under God expect Him to bless our beloved country while we murder our pre-born children. Oh, Lord Jesus, please reveal Your truth to our leaders at all levels! Lord and Heavenly Father, we know that we are more than conquerors through Jesus Christ our Lord because You said it, so it’s true.
Your Word tells us that many will come to a “Christian” faith but deny the power thereof. Also, your word tells us that at the “white throne” judgement, many will say “Lord we have done many wonderful works in your name. (We cast out demons, healed the sick, etc.) But you will say “depart from me you cursed, for I never knew you.” So my prayer is that JD Vance is a truly born-again believer. That he has a saving faith. That he turns to You Lord for guidance, wisdom, comfort, fellowship and yes that he truly worships you.
Because they meant well Lord, please forgive the RNC for offering prayer to a false god. Obviously the Hindu prayer was offered by a servant of another god. Please open their eyes to Your Truth, Jesus, and save their souls.

IFA needs a Pastoral covering (a counsel of Pastors seeking intel from God and others in the 5 fold ministries) to speak a united message to IFA and to come against comments that are divisive and from strife with correction.
Legitimate prophetic voices have validated, through God’s announcements, why Vance was selected BY HIM, why Trump was selected by God to help America.
Please IFA, the intercessors need to be in agreement with what God is doing, not contending with what He is doing.
The Religious spirit and Pride Spirit, Leviathan and Python, to name a few, are wreaking havoc in the Body of Christ.

I can say that I have done that in my life and it brought me to a place where I can’t trust in my own ways. Still learning how to surrender in the proper manner as it has to be to Him and not to indecisiveness.

I know very little about JD Vance apart from an earlier statement he made some years ago about “not being a Trump guy”.
Being someone who was introduced to the Lord in my adult life, caused me to find out from the Bible what God did and did not like.
I have several Catholic friends but I thank God that I was not introduced to Catholicism before I was introduced to His Bible.

I think wide scale deportations will be a problem except for those who break the law. Neither party has provided a roadmap to citizenship. Stopping the Invasion at the border is more important and building a wall is is important. The next best practice would be to have every one who votes have ID. I strongly believe only citizens should vote in-our

However, when you think of some of the alternative choices for a VP, and they display a stronger Christian faith, but less assertiveness, it is just possible that faith alone is not what our Heavenly Father is choosing to use. He knows best how to accomplish His goals/purposes.
Consider Samson, a weak believer, leaving the bed of a Philistine prostitute and with super-human strength, ripping out the heavy city gates and gateposts of Gaza, hoisting them up upon his shoulders and carrying them over 35 miles to a hill in Hebron (Abraham’s bosom). This was God showing symbolically that He had taken away Israel’s enemy’s protection through an unlikely means, namely, Samson. God is GOD and can choose to use whatever and whomever He wants, to accomplish His purposes.

I am concerned about JD Vance’s faith. I watched the movie about his life and what I found excessive was the foul language, but did not see where the redemption included faith In Christ. I am a former Catholic. Becoming Catholic because you know people who are is not the reason to convert. The reason to convert is a personal relationship with Jesus that leads you to Catholic faith. I disagreed with Catholic beliefs and traditions after I began to study The Bible. I pray he began to study Gods Word to see The Truth and for his wife to have a life changing encounter with Jesus as well

Sir, to say such a statement just shows you know not much about the Faith and how much studying a convert must take to become Catholic. It is much more rigorous than most other Churches, and the Bible is a catholic book assembled by catholic bishops. Catholics are all born again through our sacraments. In the natural we cannot see how God’s ways are not ours. Samuel followed God’s Choice in David. I chose to consistently pray for God’s choice in everyone to be placed in offices in this election. From reading this information and other sources, J D Vance’ take on religion seems to be a mixture of Christianity, Catholicism, Hinduism, etc. Scripture speaks to that in 2 Kings 17:33, “They feared the Lord, yet served their own gods–according to the rituals of the nations from among whom they were carried away.” J. D. Vance had a normal wedding and a hindu wedding. So we are praying for he and his wife to have an encounter with our mighty God, so he can serve as V.P. in righteousness.

Indeed we need to pray for God’s influence over JD Vance. It’s complicated that he is married out of God’s instruction to be fully yoked in marriage. We need to pray for Usha to be saved! Jesus is the only way and the only truth and the only life. God is in control of how he will use unbelievers for His kingdom.

What about children whom were adopted from a foreign country; will they have to be deported too? I hope not.
By adoption, foreign born children become US citizens legally. There is lengthy and expensive process for that. Not to be confused with illegal crossing the boarder.
Children adopted from another country are not illegal; they are American citizens and in their newly issued birth certificate, the parents of birth are their American parents. President Bush signed a law to that effect. Iwe adopted a Philippino boy and his birth certificate says he was born to my wife and me.

Humble, and “nobody”, ministers with a proven track record of integrity who can pray and be like Aaron & Hur who held up Moses’s arms. Men unknown to large audiences, but who pray and worship for an audience of “One”; no agenda beyond being quietly useful in the Lord’s hands.

A good friend of mine , Catholic, died in 2019. Her service was at a tiny Catholic Church in Bradford, NY. I was very impressed by what Father O’Connor preached about the character of Jesus, even pointing to their stained glass windows as elements in his sermon, it was refreshing to hear so much about the nature of Jesus. On a more humorous note, I was at another Catholic funeral in another small community, and , well, duh I did not know that communion was only for those who are Catholic. So up I went, it’s a long story and I was included in the elements, but didn’t learn till the next day what I had done wrong. I guess I never thought that communion would not be for everyone. They should have posted the rules!

Re Burton’s comments, regarding a law for illegals is a good idea and to also add that illegal immigrants who come here to have their babies are not going to automatically become U.S. Citizens.

It seems like EVERY SINGLE Presidential administration since Johnson has tried to deal with “illegal immigration” is a way that looks good on paper (or sounds good in a political speech), but never seems to work out to its intended purpose. They have provided a “one-time amnesty” program for those who are already here, and provided a path to legal citizenship. Then they say that after this, EVERY immigrant MUST come through the proper channels to get here legally and obtain U.S. citizenship. Time after time, that last part is never enacted, because Congress has failed to establish laws and the means that enforce this part. This process should not resort to have to be a Presidential edict; rather Congress should enact the one-time (and final time) amnesty for illegals, then provide ALL of the accompanying legislation and programs to ensure that every immigrant coming to these shores is required to follow reasonable, legal channels to get here and then to stay here as a vetted Citizen, with sworn allegiance to their new home country. Pray our leaders and for Congress to prioritize this kind of plan and put together meaningful, reasonable and God-inspired legislation and to provide Godly, government-guided programs that go with it. (The singular, One “outsider” to whom this program should be entrusted is to the Lord Almighty, as guide to give wisdom and the judge of each person’s heart. Pray that each of us will listen carefully, & will follow His lead.)
My take away from this comes from the book of Jeremiah 29:11 – “I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Christ is our King and is ultimately in charge and we are called to pray to and exalt our Creator – Christ Jesus.
Lord, I pray for his identity in You to be revealed to him. That JD Vance’s realization of who You are leads him in his leadership.

I did read His book and found that he did have a difficult life, but did not let these experiances to lead him to be a hateful or undisciplined person. I think we need to at least wonder and pray about Vance’s true reasons for switching from anti-Trump to Trump supporter, and his thought that Christianity is AN answer, not THE answer to America’s problems. It seems to me he’s trying to straddle the fence on several issues for his political gain… and as close to the end of time as we are… with all the lies that have been going on in the political realm for decades… I think we need to pray for true, Holy Spirit filled conversions in all politicians now more than ever.
I wish that the Republican Party would recommend that women see the ultrasound before undergoing an abortion. Women should NOT be in the dark about what is going on in her body as she makes this life and death decision. As believers we need to recognize where we are. It would always be God’s highest preference to put a man after his own heart in the highest office in our land. Where was that man in 2016? Not to be found. All the men of God were safe in their pulpits relying on the tax exempt status of the 501(c)(3) to provide extra revenue. That affectively silenced any voice they might have had politically. Before the 1950s, all believers received voting information and impact from the pulpit regarding the Godliness of candidates.

I am concerned about J D Vance’s position on the abortion pill mifepristone. In my opinion, this is not good. Also “religion” is not a relationship. Also I hold close to the scripture: 2 Corinthians 6:14 “Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers”. This is in regard to his marriage to a Hindu believer. He is in need of our continuous prayers.

We must always remember that God has given man “freewill”. We may not agree with what other people do or the choices they make. We cannot control them. Only us. Remember, every man will have to give account one day to our Lord for the things they chose to do. Most of their policies are really excellent. They both love this country and the people. They are not globalists that want a one world government (antichirst) which is huge. The powerful people (elites) who hate them are very evil dangerous people. We must pray and not expect what is not possible at this time given the cultural climate that has been heavily influenced by the left. But many on the left are changing! God is at work! Thank You, Father, You are at work in this nation. We repent on behalf of this nation and the church that has walked away from You and Your ways. We will be a sheep nation, with Your Grace, an inheritance for Your Son Jesus. Help us listen to Your heart and follow Your lead to do our part to bring in the change needed. I am encouraged by Senator Vance’s desire to serve God and bring back biblical principles to our country, but I pray that he will seek to know what it means to be a Christian.

I have been praying that the Lord would knit President Trump and Vice President Vance hearts together like he did Jonathan and Absalom. In this report, Lord, we see seeds of faith in you and are grateful that JD Vance is willing and actively seeking Christianity. Yet, there are confusing and complex aspects that are discomforting. Life is God-given and abortion drugs are takers of precious and innocent life. So we pause to pray in gratitude for seeds of faith and ask our Lord Jesus to guide, protect, and nourish. Abortion is killing a person, whom God created. There is no place for abortion in humanity. I like a lot of what I have read about Vance, but if he were the presidential nominee, I would not support him. Many Catholics I know, say one thing but vote the opposite.
You are absolutely correct that abortion is the taking of an innocent life. Sadly, we live in a post Christian culture. We must constantly be pressing the culture toward morality through our discourse , prayers and the way we treat others. When Jesus lived on the earth, He knew that many in the world would reject His message, he continued in love to show them the way. He didn’t mandate that those around him live the way that He wanted. We must start where we are to unravel years of horrific and ungodly laws and practices. I am not sure what to think after reading your report re his faith. Our Heavenly Father certainly doesn’t support abortion, however it is carried out.
I think some Catholics need to remember it isn’t a name tag that gets you eternal life but faith in Jesus Christ as the Messiah, for all who accept Him as their Lord and Savior.
