1 in 20 Women Need Additional Treatment After Abortion Pill Fails
Abortion pills are even more faulty than we thought, as a recent study shows that over one in 20 women require secondary abortions after their initial chemical abortions fail.
Have you taken your place on the wall?
CBN has the story:
The newĀ study from the Ethics and Public Policy Center, which CBN NewsĀ has previously reported on, found more than 5% of women had to pursue a repeat abortion within 45 days of taking mifepristone, the leading abortion-inducing pill. The data came from an analysis of insurance claims from 865,727 mifepristone abortions between 2017 and 2023.
A total of 45,498 women needed a second abortion after the pill failed to terminate their pregnancies. Of those women, 24,563 pursued a surgical abortion and close to 7,000 underwent a second round of medication and surgical terminations.
This new information comes on the heels ofĀ another studyĀ that found more than one in 10 women faced āserious adverse event[s]ā after taking mifepristone in 2023. That analysis, commissioned by the Foundation for the Restoration of America, revealed about 11.2% of women suffered critical health complications, which could include hemorrhaging, the need for blood transfusions, emergency room visits, or sepsis.
These two studies paint a sobering picture on the reality of the abortion pill. Not only does this medication regularly harm the women who take it, it also doesn’t even reliably do what it is designed to do.
It is also worth nothing that both of these studies show that the abortion pill is far more dangerous than the FDA claims it is. It is for this reason that Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has ordered a review of the medication, a fact we covered late last week.
This pill is deadly, not just for the unborn child, but also for the mother in some cases. Let’s pray that this harmful, unnecessary medication is taken off of store shelves. Above all else, let’s pray for an end to abortion in America!
