We reached out to the author of the Mississippi pro-life law that led to the overturning of Roe for her thoughts on Friday’s historic decision. Mississippi state representative Becky Currie is a nurse who ran for office and used the opportunity to introduce the law that defeated mandated abortion in America. Intercessor, we never know how God will use our obedience.
Here is what Currie said:
Today the Supreme Court made the correct ruling. It was never in the Constitution that there was a right to have an abortion. I am not able to put into words how I feel today. I have written a bill that saved millions of babies lives. God has had His hand on this bill since the beginning and I hope He is looking down saying job well done.
Currie joined IFA in Washington, DC in December on the eve of the oral arguments in the Supreme Court. She told us that she introduced many pro-life bills during her time as a state representative. The bill at issue in Dobbs was different for her. She said that when this bill was passed, she sensed that “this was it.”

Thank You, God, for raising women like Becky Currie, to uphold Your plans and purposes, to uphold Your precepts. Bless and protect her, O Lord, and continue to empower and use her to uphold Righteousness and Justice in the nation. Move upon the hearts of those who have been elected to public office to repent of their wicked ways and turn to YOU, O God, asking for Your forgiveness, and receiving Your Son Jesus as their Saviour and ONLY HOPE of salvation. Take out their hearts of stone and give them hearts on which You’ve written Your laws, such that they align with Yours. In Jesus’ Name, I pray and give You thanks, for hearing and answering prayers.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for the life of Becky Currie, thank You for choosing her. As I think about the numbers of individuals supporting her legislation, I’m humbled. I believe You used Becky to accomplish Your Purpose. May Your strength and authority remain on her as I believe You have “taken her aside.” May she never be deterred in whatever she faces. I pray this for each of us Father. And as so many still support death, I pray we continue in the battle for life. May we battle valiantly for those who call abortion, healthcare. May we be willing to battle as valiantly for their salvation. Seeking to do “the will of the Father” was the one dominating concern throughout our Lord’s life. And whatever He encountered along the way, whether joy or sorrow, success or failure, He was never deterred from that purpose. “…He steadfastly set His face to go to Jerusalem…” (Luke 9:51).

…the work we do is of no account when compared with the compelling purpose of God. It is simply the scaffolding surrounding His work and His plan.
“He took the twelve aside…” (Luke 18:31). God takes us aside all the time. We have not yet understood all there is to know of the compelling purpose of God.

The fact that the federal government stepped outside of its duties by lying that there is a Constitutional right to an abortion speaks to the fact that they used it to gain more powers than allowed by the Constitution! This is why Waters, Pelosi, Biden and the rest of their cronies are so very upset! This ruling restores the power back to the people and their elected officials and takes it out of the feds hands! Hallelujah! Also hopefully our tax dollars will no longer fund planned parenthood! Thank YOU FATHER GOD for always causing us to triumph in CHRIST JESUS! I repent for America killing millions of babies and ask forgiveness and for America to be cleansed of all unrighteousness in JESUS MIGHTY NAME! Amen!

We thank you for this reversal – it was a monumental decision and truly a Victory for America and all nations. Now we stand and watch the domino effect from this overturned unlawful legal decree that has bound our nation. We declare America will be saved!
