The next few days are critical regarding the Covid Relief bill–On Tuesday, President Biden will lunch with the Senate Democratic Caucus. “This comes ahead of Senate consideration of the Dem covid relief bill, which is still undergoing review by the Senate parliamentarian. Dems looking at potentially opening up debate on relief bill Wednesday and marathon voting session (vote-a-rama) on Thursday.” . . .

According to CNS News, “The $1.9 trillion ‘COVID-19” relief bill that passed the House on Saturday—it’s called the “American Rescue Plan Act”–includes funding for Planned Parenthood, abortion, the National Endowment for the Arts, the National Endowment for the Humanities, the Environmental Protection Agency, public housing programs and food stamps.

The bill, which will now be considered in the Senate, passed the House by a vote of 219 to 212. All but two Democrats voted for it. No Republicans did. . . .

“Republicans are disappointed that Subtitle A opens the door to federal funding of elective abortions,” the committee Republicans stated in the committee report on the bill.

“Every Democrat voted against including the Hyde Amendment protections in Subtitle A,” the report said. “The Hyde Amendment prevents all other federal funds for the Department of Health and Human services appropriated through the discretionary appropriations process, and also mandatory health spending, from being used to fund abortion in the cases where the life of the mother would be endangered if the fetus were carried to term, or in the case of rape or incest.

“Since 1976,” the report said, “Hyde, and similar policies governing other federal programs, have been supported and. Renewed annually on a bipartisan basis, multiple times, for decades.

“Because there are not Hyde Amendment protections many provision in Subtitle A, particularly where funds have been authorized for broad purposes for the provision of health services that are not directly related to preventing and treating COVID-19, will support elective abortions,” the report said.

“For example,” it said, “section 3036 authorizes $50 million in mandatory funding for grants and contracts under section 1001 of the Public Health Services Act which is the Title X Family Planning Program. First, it is unclear to Republicans how Title X funding will reduce transmission of, and illness and death caused by, COVID-19. This funding is being authorized on the heels of President Biden direction the Department of Health and Human Services to reverse the ‘Protect Life Rule,’ a rule that prohibited Title X-funded family planning services to be performed at the same location where abortions are provided. Since existing Title X appropriations have been obligated to non-abortion providing entities, section 3036 is just a way to direct taxpayer dollars to abortion providers, like Planned Parenthood.”

According to the summary of the bill in the committee report, Section 2021: “Provides $135,000,000 for the National Endowment for the Arts.” This is on top of the $167,500,000 that was already budgeted for the NEA in fiscal 2021. Section 2022: “Provides $135,000,000 for the National Endowment for the Humanities.”  This is also in addition to the $167,500,000 that was already budgeted for the NEH in fiscal 2021. . . .

“This section also provides $1,115,000,000 to the Secretary of Agriculture, $1,135,000,000 of which shall be for the Secretary to make grants for each of fiscal years 2021 through 2023 to each State agency for the costs of State administrative expenses associated with the supplemental nutrition assistance program,” the committee report says.

“The remaining $15,000,000 is made available to the Secretary of Agriculture for necessary expenses for management and oversight of the supplemental nutrition assistance program,” it says.

The report goes on to say: “Section 1012 provides $25,000,000 for. The Secretary of Agriculture to make technological improvements to online purchasing in the supplemental nutrition assistance program, to modernize electronic benefit transfer technology, to support the use of mobile technologies, and to provide technical assistance to educate retailers on such technologies. These funds remain available until September 30, 2026.” . . .

“Subtitle D would appropriate $12.8 billion for environmental protections, utility assistance, distance learning, and other consumer product safety,” said the committee report.

“Within subtitle D, chapter 1 would appropriate $5.1 billion to appropriate fund activities related to environmental health and assistance to people for paying utility bills,” it said. “$0.1 billion to the environmental Protection Agency for grants and other activities that enhance environmental justice and to support implementation of the Clean Water Act. $4.5 billion to the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance program; and $0.5 billion for grants to assist low-income households with the costs of drinking water and wastewater services.” . . .

“Subsection (a),” the report said, “provides that in addition to amounts otherwise made available, $19,050,000,000 is appropriated to the Secretary of the Department of Treasury (Treasury) for fiscal year 2021 to remain available until September 30, 2027 to make payments to eligible grantees under this section. $305,000,000 is reserved for U.S. territories. $30,000,000 is reserved for Treasury to administer emergency rental assistance programs and provide technical assistance to recipients of any grants provided by the Treasury to provide financial or other assistance to renters.”
“Subsection (d),” the report continued, “provides that funds may only be used for (1) the provision of financial assistance, including rent, rental arrears, utilities and home energy costs, utilities and home energy costs arrears, and other housing expenses; (2) the provision housing stability services; (3) program administration; and (4) other affordable rental housing and eviction prevention activities that server very low-income families. Eligible renters can receive up to 18 months of financial assistance.” . . .

Vast Majority of $1.9 Trillion Relief Bill Doesn’t Target Pandemic: Rep. Kelly

According to The Epoch Times, “The vast majority of the COVID-19 relief bill isn’t targeted for actual pandemic relief and is intended to back Democratic-controlled states, Rep. Mike Kelly (R-Pa.) told The Epoch Times at the Conservative Political Action Conference on Feb. 28.

The congressman said the $1.9 trillion measure is actually an addition to the $1 trillion already allotted for COVID-19 relief. . . .

Kelly expressed annoyance with the argument that it’s government money and that it’s acceptable for them to spend it as such, pointing out that it adds to the national debt. . . .

In an attempt to bypass the necessity for Republican votes in the Senate, Democrats are trying to push the COVID-19 relief bill through the budget reconciliation process.

Kelly said that if one takes a look at the item-for-item list of where the money is planned to be spent, one can find that a lot of it is allocated to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s (D-Calif.) promises. . . .

All Democratic senators would have to vote in favor to pass the bill, however, Sens. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) and Kyrsten Sinema (D-Ariz.) have expressed objections to including a boost to the federal minimum wage in the bill.

The Congressional Budget Office released a report projecting that an estimated 1 million people would be “lifted” out of poverty with an increase in the minimum wage, but the report also found that the change would result in the loss of 1.4 million jobs.

9% of bill is reported to pertain to Covid. This a blatant lie to the public, 600 pages of meaningless words. The House should be ashamed of their ongoing lack of integrity and honesty. I pray that the Holy Spirit will intercede and enter our representatives soul’s to follow our Commandments and speak only the truth to the American people. This is another dishonorable sham by the House and especially of the so called Christian/Catholic speaker of the house…..dishonest leadership!

This is a money grab. There is very little in this bill that helps anyone with COVID relief. It is so disgusting. We call, we write and nothing changes. There are bad actors in both sides of the aisle that stand to gain from this. There is absolutely no regard for the American citizens. They live in their own little power hungry bubble. This is the beginning of the end. Hold onto your hats. It’s going to be a bumpy ride!

More trick Dem language and the “slight of hand” verbage they use to justify spending taxpayer $ “against our will”. The Dems or anyone that agrees with this bogus bill should be brought up on charges. If this bill doesn’t spur you to action to email and CALL your legislators…then I have no idea what will. This type of bill is nothing more than taxpayer abuse – that is OUR MONEY- NOT THEIRS to do with as they wish!!! If this doesn’t make you righteously angry, nothing will. Please – call and let them know exactly how you feel!

Only 9% of this bill goes toward “COVID Relief.” Why the misnomer? It should be called “the PORK BILL.” May our God and Savior expose misleading, deceptive, and destructive policies and agendas that beguile foolish and naive people who don’t intend evil, but good. May God have mercy on the church that has turned from the truth of His words to the lies of the deceiver. Deliver us from evil, O God! In Jesus’ name and in Your will we pray.

I think and know that this package isn’t for “relief” but rather filled with democratic personal agendas!
If they really cared about bringing help and relief for Americans they would focus the money towards schools, small businesses, rent/mortgage assistance.
I’m totally disappointed in this package because it shows the lack of wisdom, discernment, and real care for what’s happened this past year to the American people.

Praying that this COVID-relief bill will not pass, that Senators Manchin and Sinema will stand strong in their convictions to vote against it and that all Republican senators will vote against it.

We as Americans should unite. We shouldn’t be looking for Republicans or Democrats but PATRIOTS for the security needed to hold on to the constitution, amendments, bill of rights. Unity can be effective as a start by boycotting social media promoting false news and any and all advertisers backing them up. I for one is one that didn’t let my disability during my childhood keep me from my capability as an adult. Social media and advertisement through some movies, kids shows, smart phones ( a no brained ) etc. has caused some confusion to society – with children in harms way. As parents we have a moral obligation to protect them while some of our leaders don’t seem to consider risking their children to the confusion they are causing. One thing to remember prayer is the first step and the second is commitment.

Covid relief can be economic as well as health-related.
The bill also provides relief for floundering multi-employer pension funds. The one with which I am familiar is projecting cuts of nearly 30% to our benefits next year if relief doesn’t come.
Pensioners from these funds have worked many years, sometimes in multiple jobs for multiple employers, and often without other benefits. Some have had virtually no work in the past year and are needing to avail themselves of the pension benefits sooner, foregoing the natural rise that comes with waiting.
