A NATIONAL ESTHER FAST
PRAYER GUIDE FOR BREAKTHROUGH NOW
PRAYERS ANSWERED: FINALLY, JUSTICE FOR GENERAL FLYNN
WHAT IS MY ROLE IN BRINGING UNITY?
PROPHETIC WORD: “IT’S ALL ABOUT SPREADING THE GOSPEL!”
A NATIONAL ESTHER FAST
A Call to the American Church
It is June, 2020. Much of America is in the throes of race riots, even as our country continues to contend with the coronavirus. Economically we are in deep distress with companies going bankrupt, accelerating unemployment and trillions of dollars being added to the national debt, all in the midst of ongoing trade wars and international upheaval. Because of supply chain difficulties, food shortages are starting to appear even as farmers and ranchers are being forced to destroy the fruits of their own labors. Politically we are fractured, and the cultural divide within our country grows ever larger.
In short, America is in big trouble. The reasons for this are many, but I believe they can be summed up in one sentence. Our nation has turned away from God.
The Creator blessed this country because we – as a nation – chose to honor and obey Him. But as we became accustomed to the fruits of those blessings, we also became complacent in our reliance upon His divine providence. Instead, we have focused upon ourselves: our comfort, desires, importance, abilities, self-sufficiency, intellect, power, leisure and lusts. Our relationship with God became uncomfortable, then inconvenient, and finally irrelevant. Over time we have systematically removed Him from our schools, our workplaces, our government and even – in many cases – our churches. And now it appears that He, in turn, has removed His hand of blessing from our nation.
Having said that, I know that many thousands (if not millions) of people have been praying for our country and its leaders, and for revival in our land. Surely these prayers have been heard, but the church has yet to break through. How then should we pray?
It seems to me that our situation bears a number of striking similarities to the story recounted in the Old Testament book of Esther. We see an ungodly, decadent society; an impulsive ruler often lacking in basic decorum; a group of people with a history defined by racial oppression, discrimination and enslavement; and a defining moment when the conflict between righteousness and evil comes to a head. (If you aren’t familiar with Esther, please read it. It is short, but you will be greatly blessed.)
In the 4th chapter of Esther, we read:
Then Mordecai told them to reply to Esther, “Do not imagine that you in the king’s palace can escape any more than all the Jews. For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place and you and your father’s house will perish. And who knows whether you have not attained royalty for such a time as this?” Then Esther told them to reply to Mordecai, “Go, assemble all the Jews who are found in Susa, and fast for me; do not eat or drink for three days, night or day. I and my maidens also will fast in the same way. And thus I will go in to the king, which is not according to the law; and if I perish, I perish.” So Mordecai went away and did just as Esther had commanded him. – Est 4:13-17
Most of us are well familiar with Mordecai’s suggestion that God had put Esther into the king’s circle “for such a time as this.” But as I meditated on this passage, it dawned on me that the Jews of Susa, the capital city, were likewise positioned for their role as intercessors on behalf of the queen. God had prepared the hearts of the Jews, and the Holy Spirit moved Esther to seek their prayer cover.
It is my personal belief that America is on the verge of destruction. I do not believe that we can spend or grow our way out of this predicament. I believe that we are reaping the whirlwind we have sown, and I do not believe that America’s best days are ahead of us.
Rather, I fear that our country’s days are numbered. That America is under the righteous judgment of God and that we stand guilty before Him. Whether or not this country can be saved, I do not know. But I do know that as David said in 1st Chronicles 21:13, “I am in great distress; please let me fall into the hand of the Lord, for His mercies are very great. But do not let me fall into the hand of man.”
For these reasons, I believe it is time for the corporate Body of Christ to humble ourselves before God and submit to a three day Esther fast. It needs to be nation-wide, ecumenical and publicly declared (not by the government, but by our spiritual leaders). It should be open to all Americans regardless of their faith tradition, as it is God’s business how He deals with individuals. Anyone who approaches Him in repentance and humility will receive of His grace and mercy. (Acts 2:21)
Perhaps God will hear our prayer and save our land. Perhaps it is too late. If we perish, we perish. But until the end comes, the true Church of God must persevere.
Details:
The fast will be held from sundown on Tuesday, June 30 to sundown on Friday, July 3, 2020 (three full days). Both Friday and Saturday are national holidays, so banks, the post office and many other places of business will be closed.
During the fast, those who are physically capable should refrain from all food and drink, including water. (Paul also performed this fast as we see in Acts 9:9.) This is a very difficult fast, but that is the point. If you are not physically able to participate at this level, prayerfully consider how God would have you join us. These are difficult times, and we need to be willing to sacrificially shoulder this burden. The enemy will present every reason, obstacle and justification not to participate, or to do it half-heartedly. Do not give him the victory!
That being said, pregnant women, nursing mothers, the infirm and children should not attempt a full Esther fast. If your job requires you to be outside during the heat of the day, you probably shouldn’t abstain from water. A good guide would seem to be Paul’s admonition (concerning giving) in 2nd Corinthians 9:7 – Let everyone do just as he has purposed in his own heart; not grudgingly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. Consult your physician if in doubt.
Please spread the word to your church, family, friends and social media contacts. And be sure to read the following guide to fasting. It explains the various types of fasts along with important precautions and suggested guidelines. Additionally, you might consider using Zoom, FaceTime, Skype or a similar platform to encourage, support and pray with your friends throughout the fast.
The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit. A broken and contrite heart, O God, You will not despise. (Ps 51:17)

You have not addressed the two central issues… the murder of babies by the millions and human trafficking with paedophiles by the 100s of thousands. This is the cry that goes up to heaven. We should be thankful for a President that addresses these vital issues rather than straining out knots about his decorum. Wake up!
I do not receive that, Pastor
Your comment is contrary to the entire spirit of this call. We did not intend to present a laundry list of the sins of America; we at GovPray are well aware of abortion and human trafficking, as are the rest of the folks on this site.
Our President has done great things, and he also has great faults. He is an imperfect man, not the savior of our country. He needs to be humbled and broken at the foot of the cross, just like the rest of us.
Instead of finding fault with the presentation, you should be leading your congregation in this fast, and on your knees with the rest of us.
Woe to the pastors of America, who lead their flocks in circles while our country perishes.
It’s so good to hear a call for prayer and fasting that has such varied commentary. If you weren’t true, everyone might speak good of you. Because you’re drawing such flack, it makes me realize I need to take this seriously. Lord, please help us each to pray and fast according to Your specific will for us. Give us strength to humble ourselves according to Your will. Thank You for Mr. Nauck and his team. Bless them and use this fast for Your glory and true revival, especially to bless our president with a real relationship with You.
Mr. Nauck, our governor proclaimed a day of prayer and fasting on October 10, 2019. This past month the state of Tennessee banned abortion for any baby with a heartbeat. God is going to bless and work through this! God bless you as He is blessing Governor Lee!
Thank you for your words of encouragement. The Lord has blessed this effort and His army stands ready to begin the battle this evening. We have created a FaceBook group for those who would like to pray in the company of others. Feel free to join if you wish – just search for Esther Fast USA.
God bless you, my friend!
May I say that you always go to warfare prayer from the point of Victory. Jesus said John 16:33 “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
Jesus has overcome death, hell and the grave. Jesus made an open show of powers, principalities and rulers of this present darkness. While it is always good to humble yourself in fasting and prayer, we are not defeated. We are committing ourselves to pray and fast….repent and pray….repent for the Nation and examine ourselves for correction. I believe all believers, that have pressed into God, know that God chose Donald Trump to be the President of the USA. Therefore, it is our responsibility to support him. Never point out his faults, that feeds the enemy. Our job is to uphold him in prayer and leave any correction to Holy Spirit.
Amen
I have been appalled at the many negative responses to this call to fast and pray together. My heart is grieved over this!
I plan to get the word out to my fellow intercessors here where I live.
God bless you, IFA, for all you are doing to glorify our great God and Father! I have told many others about you and will continue to do so🙏
We have posted a video on GovPray.com which interested persons may share with their friends, church or on social media.
The Lord is assembling His army.
My husband and I will be starting at 8:18pm sundown. I want to be strong to do this and my husband and hopefully our grown adult daughters as well. Praying for our God to help us in this unbelievable moment in our history. Agreeing with all our brothers and sisters for the Lord to change hearts of stone into hearts of flesh, for repentance from rampant homosexuality, and transgender Ian, abortion of innocent babies-millions of them slaughtered. God forgive us and forgive our complacency over the years in our homes, communities and especially our churches. We need Your help Father. In Jesus Name amen.
I agree with this notice as The Lord spoke to me this morning, June 25, to fast and pray. I heard Him say: “Fast and Pray for I Am on the Way”. Also Prophet Chuck Pierce has asked us to release a new sound into the atmosphere through song! May you be blessed for sending this and I’ll forward it too.
I have to take issue with the author of this faithless call for prayer. Fear is not a motivator and it should never drive us to prayer. Secondly, I take issue calling the President of the United States of America “an impulsive ruler often lacking in basic decorum.” I think a little respect is in order. God placed President Trump exactly where he is “for such a time as this” and to disparage him in that manner makes me want to dismiss this whole call to prayer. It’s clear the person who wrote this article is not neutral and shows great animus towards him.
Thank you for your post, Stephen. For a detailed response to your concerns, please read our comments below. With all due respect, you do not know where we stand regarding our thoughts on President Trump. Indeed, we purposely didn’t tip our hand in that regard one way or another. This fast is not about Trump, it’s about the future of this country.
I do not fear for my salvation, nor for the sanctified Body of Christ. The Lord is our Shepherd and we shall not want.
However, we do fear for the future of our country. In spite of what others may say, God only has two sets of chosen people: the Jews and the Church. America has been blessed and used by God to an extraordinary degree, but Americans are NOT His chosen people. He can take down this country just as surely as He has taken down many others. He is not a respecter of persons, kings or nations – none are exempt from His holy rebuke. God will only continue to bless and to use America as long as we follow His precepts. And as far much of our government and judiciary are concerned, those days have ended.
Here is the bottom line, my IFA friends:
Those of us associated with this call are not praying that God would rescue our country from its time of distress just so that we can continue to do what we have been doing all along. (By “we,” I mean the apostate, lazy, comfortable Laodicean church.) In fact, if it is going to take Covid, unemployment, economic collapse and privation to bring us to our knees, then that is God’s purpose and our spirits are in alignment with His. We are at a crossroads. Which way shall we turn?
Hear what the Spirit says to the churches. (Rev 3:22)
Come, Lord Jesus, come.
The number of faithless statements written in this article is unbelievable.
“Perhaps God will hear our prayer…” So you advocate for prayer and fasting while at the same time wonder if God will hear? “Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.” (1 John 5:14-15) I see absolutely no confidence in your statement. It’s full of doubt and unbelief. (Remember, a double minded man is unstable in all his ways.)
“We stand guilty before Him” God’s Word tells us that we are not under condemnation (Romans 8:1), so no, we are not guilty. The blood of Christ has cleansed us from all guilt and shame. The Church may have fallen down on our job in the past, but I believe we have awakened, realized our error and have started to line ourselves up with God’s will for this country, praying the prayers of faith.
“America is on the verge of destruction…” Satan is the author of destruction and God’s Word tells us that we have authority over ALL the power of the enemy (Luke 10:19). While fasting and prayer is sometimes necessary to defeat the enemy, and it certainly was in Esther’s day, we have something Esther did not have – the indwelling Christ. During extreme times like this, the Church should fast and pray, but in addition, we are also expected to exercise the authority which Jesus left us, and deal with these situations as His representatives on the earth. The Army of God, Christ’s Bride, has put on her armor and is in battle array. Only those wallowing in doubt and unbelief can fail to discern that fact. What cowardice!
“America is under the righteous judgment of God” The United States is not under judgment, the evil system – the spirit of antichrist and the spirit of empty religion – that has corrupted the soul of our nation is under judgment. Now is not the time to give in to fear, and cower in defeat. When it looks the darkest is the time to double down and stand… having done all to stand!
We are His Church, the vehicle He is using in these last days to restore His glory to this nation, as well as the rest of the earth. He established this country for a purpose and, as He stated in 2011 through Kim Clement, “Do you think I have changed my mind?” God has not changed His mind and until our purpose has been fulfilled, we will continue to be, as we always have been, the nation that God uses to take His Gospel to the rest of the world.
What I have read in this article is a bunch of opinions based on fearful feelings that have nothing to do with standing on God’s Word and His promises. Unfortunately these sentiments seem to be common throughout the Body of Christ. No wonder the Church at large is in such a state of declension. But God will use a remnant – He always does!
There are two words in scripture that seem to create more confusion amongst both believers and non-believers than any others: fear and judgment. I have addressed your issues in my responses to earlier comments. If you read the words of the Esther call in context, the meaning, purpose and biblical basis is clear.
If your spirit resonates with this message and you feel the Spirit leading you to join us in this fast, then we welcome you. If not, then go your way. God has simply given us the task of getting the word out. The growth and the harvest are up to Him.
In addition to our fasting and prayer, local church leaders across denominational and movement lines need to meet at the table and discuss ways to hold special prayer and worship events TOGETHER at least monthly, and discuss, as well, how to do works of goodwill in the Name of Jesus, ministering the Love of God simply as JESUS’ people, by meeting some unmet needs in their communities. The key word is TOGETHER (regardless of differences in doctrinal platforms or different worship patterns). Bring down the walls of division, PRAYING AND SERVING together as believers in Jesus Christ.
I’ve been to govpray.org and I don’t see anything about this fast so I’m a bit confused about it.
Hi Karen,
Wow, we didn’t notice that! The website should be listed as http://www.GovPray.com, though we will have a redirect in place this evening.
Thanks for asking the question!
Part of the confusion may be that it says govpray.org at the top of the article and govpray.com at the bottom.
I fully support everything Elle has written. I also hear “fear” and despair and lack of faith in the call to prayer. Yes the United States and our President needs intercession with prayer and fasting, worship and praise. But let’s examine ourselves at the same time. The Lord has been talking to me His body the church. In Ezekiel 8, God took Ezekiel behind the scenes in the temple and showed him the abomination that was taking place in the temple. There were idols of every kind carved into the walls and standing in front of them were 70 elders of Israel worshiping these idols. They were saying, “the Lord does not see us; the Lord has forsaken the land.” Judgement falls at the house of the Lord first! My question is: has the Body of Christ lost it’s way, worshipping idols and are we approaching the throne of grace in faith? Have we forgotten our first love? Are we embracing and tolerating Jezebel? Is God waiting for us to clean up our act before He begins to work on our behalf in this nation. Are we asking for His Kiingdom to be done on earth or are we asking for our purposes to be done? Are we exhibiting perfect love which casts out fear? Yes fast and pray, but not in doubt, fear, for personal advantage, or in arrogance and pride, or with idolatry in our hearts! “ If My people who are called by my name will humble themselves in prayer, turn from their wicked ways THEN . …
This article uses first person I perspective, however no singular author is stated. (I could only assume the author’s identity in the comments section where Kurt Nauck addressed some points in the body of the article.) A cross reference Search to http://www.GovPray.org did not offer any current publication regarding a three day fast. Is the idea being generated by GovPray.org ? Do I assume that Intercessors of America is endorsing this “Call to the American Church” as a spiritual avenue for the ecumenical body of Christ? Moreover, who are the Spiritual Leaders to declare this approach to be an anointed one? I wait for more clarification, not reasons or history to be presented as to why I must. I find this injunction to fast/pray as an imperative and that disturbs me. Anne Graham Lotz had recently on Pentecost ENCOURAGED women to fast/pray for America during a certain date/time concurrently. She offered prayer points. Perhaps there is more detail to be given that would appeal to the brethren like myself who who are feeling spiritually disconnected from this call.
Hello Mary
Your questions are valid. Confusion has arisen based on the fact that Govpray.org is listed when it should have been GovPray.com. (Both sites are ours, though the Org site still points to the 2018 Meet You at the Polls prayer initiative.) Unfortunately, this error was just now brought to my attention. We will have the Org site redirected to Com this evening.
Who are we? As you will read on our site:

The folks behind GovPray are Bible-believing disciples of Jesus, most of whom live in or near Houston, Texas. We have been tasked by God to call the American church to prayer and repentance based on 2 Chronicles 7:14. We seek no glory for ourselves as this is God’s ministry, not ours. It is unlikely you would recognize any of our names, anyway. We pray together regularly and hold one another accountable. Simply stated, we are ordinary people living extraordinary lives through Jesus Christ.
GovPray is a Christian ministry that focuses on national and governmental issues. We are not a political organization, and we do not support or endorse any particular party or candidate. We do, however, regard the authority of the Bible as instructive when evaluating political issues with a moral component.
GovPray does not solicit outside funds; rather, we believe that this is a ministry the Father has entrusted to us to support and manage. The only thing we covet from the Body of Christ is your prayers and your participation in our prayer initiatives as the Holy Spirit leads.
GovPray collaborates with like-minded ministries from time to time in the pursuit of common goals. Please feel free to reach out if your organization or church might be interested in partnering with us.

Because we do not seek glory for ourselves, you will not find a name on the site, nor did we include a byline on the IFA article. This is not about us. We are Gideon, calling the faithful remnant to join us in this task. We don’t have funding, nor do we have staff. We are believers with jobs, families, businesses and very little spare time. Then again, all we need is a pitcher and a torch, and God can take care of the rest.
Though we are no one special, the Lord has seen fit to grant us favor, not only in the eyes of the kind folks at IFA, but with many other ministries, radio networks and churches as well. (Some are listed on our partners page.) This fast has grown well beyond our own meager abilities, and we are both thankful and humbled by that.
God can and does call His people through men and women of humble state and ordinary means – in fact, more often than not, that is precisely how He chooses to do it. Who is it that validates our mission? The only one who can do that is the Spirit Himself. Ask Him what you should do.
That being said, if you send me an email through the GovPray website, I will let you know how God confirmed this calling to us. Blessings to you, and to all of those who consider this call.
Thank you, Gideon, for your response which clarified and directed me and others to the correct site for further information. May you stand resolute in this humble assignment which you have felt called to undertake with others.
Does it matter if we wait for a leader to call out for the church to pray and fast? We need to just fast and pray in unison! There’s been a call to prayer! – where two or more are gathered in His Name, He is in the midst of them. . . .people, there is a call to fast and pray as the body of Christ – the church. Let’s fast and pray. We need Him to intervene, we need to call out to Him and further we need to inquire of Him just like King David! Hear our prayer Father! Please help us – we are but dust! Please help us.
Our group of 40 has started fasting and praying from May 25 – Nov 3, 2020.
” The Battle Belongs To The Lord”
We prayed with proclaimation, decree and declaration to claim back our beloved country.
“A group of people with a history defined by racial oppression, discrimination, and oppression”
I do not believe America’s history is defined by that statement, but I do believe the Chinese Communist Party and Progressives who would like to overthrow our government want us to believe it.
One of the Chinese Communist Party tactics is to shame people. (That does not come from God. God disciplines and corrects but always out of His love and desire for good.)
Look carefully at Mao’s Cultural Revolution in China (1966-1976) and you will see these strategies.
The United States of America has never been perfect, but it has done many things right at a great sacrificial cost of lives. Remember the Civil War in the 1800’s and the civil rights movement in the 1900’s?
We are defined by the vision that all men (and women) are created equal and working toward the fulfillment of that vision.
May we come to Him with humble hearts filled with gratitude. May God help us correct what needs to be corrected and bless us where we seek His plans and purposes. Praise Him for His mercy, grace, and light to see the Truth.
Read what was said:
The HISTORY of the Jews included 400+ years of enslavement.
The HISTORY of the African American race in the US included decades of enslavement as well.
The HISTORY of the Jews is one which includes oppression and discrimination.
The HISTORY of the African-American race is also tainted by oppression and discrimination, even after they were emancipated.
We pointed out similarities between Esther’s culture and ours. It neither stated nor implied that those exact same conditions exist today. (Even though to one degree or another, they do. So long as man exists on this earth, there will be sin – and that includes oppression, discrimination and captivity. Though our black citizens may no longer be physically enslaved by plantation owners, a great many of them are yet held captive by various spiritual, social and cultural masters.)
No one is claiming that America has not been “a light shining on the hill” for many generations. But we are certainly not the country we once were, and nothing but a humble and broken return to the Lord will change that fact.
Will you join us in this fast?
Your fear is cancelling out your faith!
Please be careful with doom and gloom messages like this.
You “fear” our country’s days are numbered? Not only are you entertaining a spirit of fear within yourself, but also in your writing and consequently you are also subjecting your readers to it as well. You are tapping into Satan’s frequency when you call upon fear and death. I beg you to watch the words that you use. I am truly blown away at the carelessness of this article and the fear-mongering within it, and I am angry because of it.
God is in control of all things and there is nothing that happens without passing through His hand first. Where is your hope in the power of Almighty God? Where is your freedom in knowing that who the Son has set free is free indeed? Where is your mighty armor of God? Where is your righteous indignation to stand and take up the divine authority to destroy strongholds and every proud argument raised against the knowledge of God?
Do you not see that the wicked are reaping what they’ve sown? Do you not see that the lawless are heaping calamity upon their own heads? This country is not being destroyed – it is being cleansed! It is being purged of its lawlessness, corruption, and treachery. Our country is being refined by the hand of the Most High God. What we see before us are growing pains.
The prayers of the true church, the remnant, are being heard! Look at all that is being exposed – the corruption and injustice within the General Flynn situation; the deeply disgusting and abominable child/sex trafficking, sacrifices, and witchcraft of Hollywood and Washington elites; the corruption, carelessness, and abuses of power by Democratic governors and how they are allowing their states to crumble. Things are going to get worse before they get better, but they will get better because God chastens whom He loves and look at the mighty judgement that is at work. He is a God of justice and righteousness and His hand is mighty at work in this nation.
Pray, fast, repent, and cover this nation in prayer. Take up the divine weapons of spiritual warfare. Cover our leaders in prayer – especially President Trump whom Almighty God has prepared and placed in office for such a time as this!
Stop invoking the spirit of fear!
We are not invoking a spirit of fear. We are addressing the reality we face in America today. It is neither unbiblical nor unwise to call a spade a spade. The prophets did it, Jesus did it and the New Testament writers did it. Throughout scripture, people and nations are warned of coming judgment and given the opportunity to repent. Was Jonah preaching a message of fear? You bet he was! But he also called Ninevah to repentance and the people responded accordingly.
Further, we are not Trump bashing. Our President is a very flawed man, as all of us are to one degree or another. But he is not the savior or the answer to our problems. Yes, we need to support him in prayer. But God can use him to either bring blessing or judgment upon this country.
How do we pray for the President? The same way we pray for our Church. We need brokenness and repentance. We need to be on our faces, weeping and mourning before the Father. Our President needs to humble himself before the cross, and if he is incapable of doing that, we need to pray that God would do it for him.
Jesus’ body was broken for us. Now that we are His Body, we must be broken before Him. “The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit. A broken and contrite spirit, O Lord, you will not despise.”
Amen!
This call to prayer article was evolving fear. God honors faith like Joshua and Caleb! Yes, the church does need to repent and turn from it’s wicked ways! Abortion, cohabitating, fornication, pornography, idolizing sports before God, gossip and the list goes on are just as rampant in the church. Pastors don’t preach the consequences of intentional sin anymore. Someone may become offended! How are his flock going to correct their ways? Are they seeking God? Do they even speak of him who comes to steal, kill, and destroy? Pray we must, repent then take the Authority Jesus gave us as believers! (Check out Ephesians)
No, you’re not facing reality, unless your reality is that satan wins. The reality is that God expects us to see things through His eyes, not our own. Peter was walking on the water until he started “facing reality.” The great part of the story is that even when Peter doubted (facing the reality of the situation), Jesus was still there to lift him back up and save him. Stop looking at the problem and start looking at Jesus!
Elle, I am in agreement with you, because Jesus said to fear not. Yes, we can always fast and pray, but it shouldn’t have to be an Esther fast. You could fast one day, one week, or one month. Not everyone can fast but everyone can pray. 2 Chronicles 7:14 calls for God’s people to humble themselves, and pray and seek His face, and turn from their wicked ways. Fasting is not mentioned but let he who is able do so.
I am truly grieved in my spirit at the vitriol responses from so many Christians here. Many of you are living in fear and don’t even know it. The fear of someone having a different point of view from you. It is comparable to the leftists.
If you cannot tolerate a brother, a sister, believing that Americas best days are behind her how will you ever tolerate those on the street who will spit in your face when you mention you are a Christian? Do you fear a negative word? If you don’t want to fast, then don’t. You would not be successful in it anyway. But to some of us this message has stuck a cord. Please, be kind.
Maybe I missed something but I don’t see any Trump bashing. People need to stop worshipping Trump. He’s only a man.
This is the most serious time in America in my lifetime. A house divided cannot stand.
May the Lord grant us repentance “so that [our] sins may be wiped away, in order that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord”. Acts 3:19
Thank you IFA for calling for this fast.
Amen.
Lord God, help us to love one another and to show grace towards one another. Empower us with Your Holy Spirit that the enemy will not be able to use our weaknesses or his tool of offense to separate the Body of Christ. I pray this in Jesus Name
You also might want to have Christian Radio stations announce this fast to their listeners, I know more people listen to Christian Radio in their cars then actually go to church.
This fast is being announced on the Bott Radio Network, several Salem stations and a number of other radio networks. Contact us at GovPray.com and we will email you a Public Service Announcement which you can share with your own local stations.
Yes we the church should be humbling ourselves, fasting and praying for our great country!
But, I do not agree with your doom and gloom forecast for this country or your disrespectful comment about our President!
God has chosen President Trump for such a time as this! It’s curious that God did not even choose a “christian” leader to run this country because we are so weak and pathetic. So, instead of bashing our President let’s lift him up in prayer so that God’s will for this country and world can be fulfilled.
And let the church rise up in the power and authority that has been given to us by Christ himself to destroy the works of the devil and preach the gospel of truth to everyone!
Amen! I agree. Yes it is a dark time in our country, the Bible tells us that things will become very dark in the last days, but God is not angry with his church, in fact he’s looking to bless His faithful. He does want us to fast and pray and be involved with the issues that surround us, but 365 times he said not to worry in his word, and he said he’s ever faithful to stand up on our behalf.
Yes, I agree. We need to stand with President Trump and not bash him. He is just a man, full of faults, but God has placed him in a position to use him forHis glory. We should continually be lifting him up before the Lord.
Amen
fast and pray to the One and only God, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob? absolutely! ecumenical? that would be considered idolatry and also playing into the Antichrist system. Bashing our president is shameful, praying for him definately is what a true bible believing Christian would do, as well as praying for the other false religions to receive the truth of the scriptures so as to be saved!
Well said, Margo.
Thank you.
Every one of us, who is called by His Name, please Pray for our President,
and for our Nation.
Please pray.
Hello Margo
Nothing in my writeup was disrespectful of our President. But we are called to speak Truth, and one thing most people can agree on is that Trump is often “impulsive, and often lacking in basic decorum.”
Bear in mind that both Saul and David were annointed by God as kings over Israel. That didn’t guarantee, however, that they would walk in His ways or that God would bless their efforts.
Trump needs our prayers. America needs our prayers. I hope you will join us for this fast!
My wife and I have prayed morning and night for our President and country since he became the nominee and we saw the spiritual warfare being waged against him. The truth you spoke about him was one sided. It’s also true he publicly thanks God and asks for His blessings, more than any president in my lifetime. This country purchased the slaves freedom with blood, and has continuously acted to eliminate oppression. Minorities are still oppressed, given poor educations and handouts in order to keep them dependent and voting for more handouts. The black on black crime in Democrat minority run cities is an abomination which is ignored by the agenda driven media.
The Supreme Court brought abortion and immorality to this country, not our representatives. Many are lawless, have forgotten God, and are immoral, and there are tens of millions of believers who seek to honor and glorify God.
Isaiah 58 has a lot to say about fasting. Maybe we should be taking action to develope policies that free minorities of their dependency. Isaiah 58 gives several examples of actions we could be taking, that are the kind of fasting the Lord has chosen.
Jehoshaphat called a fast for Judah when they were about to be invaded. So maybe fasting and taking the actions we can take is what’s called for.
I have been feeling God was calling me to fast and pray and I wanted His direction. thank you for this. The Lord has been impressing on me, the story of Elujah and Elisha. As Elisha prepares for His master to die, He follows Elijah to Gilgal ( a place of separation), Bethel ( a place of transformation) and Jericho (a place of occupation). I feel Elijah is representative of Jesus and Elisha is the body of Christ. he is calling us to Himself to prepare His bride to be lights in the darkness. What did Elisha get in the end because He was obedient? The double portion of anointing. We need that in this day …let us pray for one another into this and I would love to hear what others think. This verse in Exodus 19 came to me…Now if you will obey me and keep my covenant, you will be my own special treasure from among all the peoples on earth; for all the earth belongs to me. We cannot know His direction without prayer and fasting. I am lifting up all in prayer who listen to this call…I pray for unity and humility in the body.
From Exodus 19 to 1st Peter to Revelation 5, the mention of a ‘Kingdom of Priests’ keeps recurring. We are heirs to the throne through Christs blood. Yes undeserved or earned, but non the less we are brothers(sisters) with Christ, joint heirs as Paul says. We are also to be priests, those that present the offerings before the throne. Offerings of praise, for sin, for repentance, for gratitude. On behalf of the population- then- in ancient Hebrew culture the priests were representatives, ‘go betweens’ before the throne. Lord let us take the responsibility and authority of both offices; combined, priests and princes seriously.
Being a member of Eastern Star we are familiar with the book of Esther. We will be praying.
