Two Republican lawmakers — Reps. Louie Gohmert (Texas) and Steve King (Iowa) — are sounding the alarm over the death of Philip Haney, the former Homeland Security official turned whistleblower during the Obama administration.
In little-noticed speeches on the House floor on Feb. 28, both congressmen bucked claims that Haney died by suicide.
“I’m standing on the floor here saying, Madame Speaker, I don’t believe that Phil Haney committed suicide,” King said. “I expect that we’re going to get a thorough investigation. The evidence that is coming to me indicates that he was murdered.”
“Phil often said, ‘I would never commit suicide,'” King explained, adding that he was a good friend of Haney’s.
Meanwhile, Gohmert explained in a lengthy speech that he, too, was good friends with Haney, so much so, in fact, that he and Haney had made a “mutual pact.”
“I’d been concerned about his safety, with all the information he knew and people who could’ve gotten in trouble.” Gohmert said. “We had a mutual pact. It said: Either one of us ended up committing suicide, then the other is going to make sure that the truth wins out.”
King and Gohmert both explained that Haney always kept a thumb-drive around his neck containing a cache of highly sensitive documents related to allegations that the government could have prevented domestic terrorist attacks by Islamic extremist perpetrators. It is not clear what happened to the thumb-drive.
Haney was a DHS whistleblower who testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee in June 2016 that he was forced to delete a trove of documents on people connected to Islamic terrorism.
Police revealed on Feb. 21 that Haney had been discovered dead on the side of the road 40 miles east of Sacramento.
Police initially said that Haney died from a “a single, self-inflicted gunshot wound,” but later called the statement “misinformation.”
“Unfortunately, there was misinformation immediately put out that we have determined Mr. Haney’s death to be a suicide. This is not the case. We are currently in the beginning phase of our investigation and any final determination as to the cause and manner of Mr. Haney’s death would be extremely premature and inappropriate,” the Amador County Sheriff’s Office said in an updated statement.
Continue to pray for answers in our friend Philip’s death. Truth and justice. May the information he was prepared to share that was a threat to some, be revealed!

IFA, thank you for this information. I confess I only heard about his death about 4-7 days ago. It sure looks suspicious. May his two congressional friends have safety, from God, in investigating what happened to him and all those involved. I also pray the thumb drive will be found with everything on it that he put on it.
Father, give usA righteousness and justice in the cause of Philip Haney’s death. His life mattered to You and usA. He was Your servant in all he did and suffered much for our sake. His life deserves that truth come forward and the perpetrators be brought to justice and his personal items are restored to his family and friends. Lord God, too many people have died in mysterious circumstances that have been called suicide. Interesting that a person can shoot himself in the back of the head three time execution style and it be called suicide.

Lord, I have felt a renewed prompting during the past few days to pray for the investigation of Philip Haney’s death, which clearly seems to be murder. May anyone with knowledge of what happened to Philip be convicted to bring this information to the investigators. May the investigators seek Your wisdom and persist until the truth of all that happened is revealed and justice is done. May the investigators do their work with the renewed assurance that You love righteousness and justice, as expressed in Jeremiah 9:23-24.
I come in agreement with all the statements above and the fact that it is already being questioned is an answer to prayer. The minute I heard of his “suicide” I started praying – no one goes out in the woods far away from home and shoots themselves with a rifle. If I am going to commit suicide I do it with a hand gun at home or thereabouts!! Please God let there be a few copies of that thumb drive. His life has been in danger for years and he knew it!!!! Protect anyone else that has that information. PLEASE LORD BRING IT TO LIGHT!! Please bring the President into the investigation and protect him and all that may be working on this case!! Dear Lord if there was wrong doing and murder please shine the spotlights on the guilty party and let your Justice be done. Let all information come forth to clear this man and protect the interests of the innocent and seal the dome of the guilty. You said Thou Shalt Not Kill.

Father, in the name of Jesus, I also stand in agreement with all others that ask you to reveal the whole truth about Phil Haney’s murder. Please cause the person(s) who ordered the hit to be thoroughly exposed as well as the identity of the person(s) involved in carrying out the murder. Phil Haney is your child and an American hero who used his intelligence and vast knowledge to protect the American people. We know Obama did everything he could do to delete the knowledge Phil Haney wrote into the counter terrorism knowledge base. I pray that the level of Obama’s treason and any involvement in the murder of Phil Haney be exposed to all the American people as quickly as you are willing to do this for us.

We cannot let this attack on Phil Haney, which was also an attack on all decent American people, be allowed to covered up and dropped from the news cycle and almost forgotten as so many others have been dropped. I pray that President Trump would also comment on this travesty because his comments do carry a lot of weight thanks to the position you gave him.
