I Prayed have prayed
Lord Jesus, it is sad and disappointing when people who claim to be Christians support abortion. Many twist the Scriptures to fit their liberal agendas and confuse the public with statements that are false. We pray for truth to permeate their hearts and for repentance because one day they will stand before You and answer for what they have done.

For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths, 2 Timothy 4:3-4.

The most recent comments of Texas State Representative James Talarico are nothing short of disgraceful and deceitful, but they will soothe the itching ears of those who believe abortion is not a moral choice, but a woman’s “right” to end the life of her baby.

Rep. Talarico, a Democrat who hopes to secure a U.S. Senate seat in the 2026 elections, appeared on the Jamie Kern Lima show, where he stated, “I trust Texas women to make decisions about their own bodies–to shape their own destinies in consultation with their family members, their doctors, their faith leaders. I don’t believe that’s a place for government. I don’t believe it’s a place for politicians–I don’t believe it’s a place for the state. And that’s a belief I hold not despite my faith, but because of my faith. Jesus never talks about abortion. The Bible is silent on abortion.”

While Rep. Talarico identifies himself as a Presbyterian seminarian, his openly held beliefs do not line up with biblical truth. While he speaks of faith, his ignorant words and ideals point to the exact opposite.

Twisting the Scriptures

One wonders what Bible, if any, Rep. Talarico is reading. After all, this so-called man of faith doesn’t seem to understand one of the Bible’s core messages–the sanctity of human life.

God makes His point about life very clear in the Ten Commandments. You shall not murder, Exodus 20:13. This fact is echoed in Matthew 5:21. You have heard that it was said to those of old, “You shall not murder; and whoever murders will be liable to judgment.” Deliberately and violently ending the life of an innocent baby through abortion is nothing short of murder.

Rep. Talarico doesn’t acknowledge abortion as murder because, in past interviews, he has referred to an unborn baby as merely a fetus, an embryo, or an “it.” On the Joe Rogan Experience last year, he was asked when life begins. He suggested, “You know, in Genesis, God creates life by breathing life into the first human being, which we later call Adam–that life starts when you take your first breath.”

Correction is needed for that statement. While Rep. Talarico thinks life begins when a baby begins breathing, here is what God’s Word says.

For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them, Psalm 139:13-16.

Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you, Jeremiah 1:5.

These verses show that God is the One who forms and creates each and every life at conception. It is He who ordains the days and years of a person, even before they are physically born into the world. The Lord is present in the secret place of the womb, fashioning an unborn baby’s body from fingers to toes. Made in His own image, a baby is precious and valuable to God.

A Life is a Life No Matter How Small

Rep. Talarico seems to think that when a life is small in size, it’s not as valuable. Interestingly enough, a middle-schooler knows the truth about when life begins, even if a 37-year-old man does not. Recently, the pro-life poem of a 7th-grade Colorado girl called A Life is a Life No Matter How Small went viral because she was not afraid to stand up for the smallest of all. One line of the poem describes unborn babies who are aborted this way: “They never get to see the light of day before they are cast away. They did nothing wrong except exist and were dismissed. People say women and healthcare, but never think how unfair–they kill a baby for simply being there.”

Rep. Talarico’s latest opinions on abortion are not the first, but stem from a long line of remarks that could be considered blasphemous. His appearance on Joe Rogan in July 2025 showed his true colors. In one particularly disturbing comment, he used the story of Mary becoming pregnant through the power of God as an affirmation for a woman’s “right to choose.”

He unabashedly stated, “I say all this in the context of abortion, because before God comes over Mary, and we have the incarnation, God asks for Mary’s consent… so to me, that is an affirmation in one of our most central stories that creation has to be done with consent. You cannot force someone to create… so that’s how I come down on that side of the issue.”

Child Sacrifice and Abortion

The twisting of Scripture by Rep. Talarico is enough to make one’s stomach turn, but even more gut-wrenching is the fact that he’s clueless when it comes to the parallels between child sacrifice and abortion. In ancient times, wayward parents following false gods gave consent for their babies to be murdered. These detestable acts were condemned by God, and the Lord set His face against anyone who participated in them.

Leviticus 20:2-5 states, Say to the Israelites: “Any Israelite or any foreigner residing in Israel who sacrifices any of his children to Molech is to be put to death. The members of the community are to stone him. I myself will set my face against him and will cut him off from his people; for by sacrificing his children to Molech, he has defiled my sanctuary and profaned my holy name. If the members of the community close their eyes when that man sacrifices one of his children to Molech and if they fail to put him to death, I myself will set my face against him and his family and will cut them off from their people together with all who follow him in prostituting themselves to Molech.”

Deuteronomy 12:29-31 is also very clear:

The LORD your God will cut off before you the nations you are about to invade and dispossess. But when you have driven them out and settled in their land, and after they have been destroyed before you, be careful not to be ensnared by inquiring about their gods, saying, “How do these nations serve their gods? We will do the same.” You must not worship the LORD your God in their way, because in worshiping their gods, they do all kinds of detestable things the LORD hates. They even burn their sons and daughters in the fire as sacrifices to their gods.

Those who support abortion will argue that they’re not throwing their sons or daughters into a fire, or participating in a ritual sacrifice. But let’s be honest. The procedures that are used in modern-day abortion are just as barbaric and sacrificial. When an innocent baby can be suctioned out, dissected, chemically burned, stabbed with surgical scissors, or flushed down the toilet, this has nothing to do with a woman’s choice. Instead, it’s about brutally murdering the cherished little ones whom Jesus adores.

Former abortionists who have repented of the practice will attest that the procedures are barbaric and evil, providing shocking details about the pain even the tiniest babies feel, and their reactions to sharp instruments. Rep. Talarico desperately needs to consult with these experts who will not water down the shocking truth.

Striking details are provided in God’s Word, which prove that He denounces and hates child sacrifice. Exodus 23:24-25 warns, Do not bow down before their gods or worship them or follow their practices. You must demolish them and break their sacred stones to pieces.

Exactly what are the sacred stones mentioned in the verse? It’s highly unlikely that Rep. Talarico understands the link between “sacred stones” and child sacrifice. Archeologists have meticulously documented Canaanite pagan worship sites, which showcase a plethora of “sacred” standing stones. Near them were jars filled with the bones of infants. These innocent babies who were deemed unworthy of life became an instrument of worship to demonic gods. In today’s abortion saturated world, it’s not just bones that are left behind, but also the body parts and tissue that are sold for profit while legislators like Rep. Talarico look the other way.

The Bible is NOT silent on abortion. If anything, it screams about it from a mountaintop.

The Gates of Hell

Jesus, the Savior who proclaims life, revealed that He is the Son of God at Caesarea Philippi. This site is where he boldly told His disciples that the Gates of Hell would not prevail against His church. It’s also where Jesus confirmed that He is the Son of the Living God. Matthew 16:13-19 records the details.

Now, when Jesus came into the district of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, “Who do people say that the Son of Man is?”…Simon Peter replied, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” And Jesus answered him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah! For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father who is in heaven. And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock, I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.”

When Jesus emphasizes that the Gates of Hell will not prevail, He is doing this against the backdrop of sheer depravity and evil. Pagans believed that the cave located in this area was a portal to the underworld (Gates of Hell) where fertility gods dwelled. Turbulent waters fed by a large underground spring flowed through the gaping cavern. It is believed that those who worshipped the half-man, half-goat god known as Pan would throw their helpless children inside, knowing full well that they would drown or be dashed apart by the rocks. All of this was done as a sacrifice to gain favor and prosperity at the hands of a demonic god.

Rep. Talarico is Poking God in the Eye

Many of us may feel angry when we listen to or read the words of Rep. Talarico as he bends the Scriptures to fit his Leftist agenda. The truth, however, is that we should pity this man and pray for him. The words of beloved patriarch Casper ten Boom come to mind when realizing just how lost this man, who claims to be a Christian, actually is.

During the Nazi occupation of the Netherlands, Casper witnessed Jewish men, women, and children being forced into trucks without mercy. Seeing this cruel injustice, he commented, “Those poor people.” His daughter Corrie thought he was talking about the Jewish people at first. But Casper clarified by saying, “I pity the poor Germans, Corrie. They have touched the apple of God’s eye.”

Mr. Talarico has also touched something very precious and valuable to God. Psalm 127:3-5 declares that “children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward.” Furthermore, Matthew 18:10 proclaims, “See that you do not despise these little ones. For I tell you that in heaven their angels always see the face of my Father who is in heaven.”

A Holocaust of babies has taken place, and continues to this very day. Over 65 million abortions have brutally snuffed out the lives of those whom Jesus deems as the greatest in the kingdom of heaven (Matthew 18:1-4).

Former abortionist Dr. Catherine Wheeler admits that the only way many doctors can bring themselves to take the lives of helpless babies is to dehumanize them. In fact, this is what occurred during the Holocaust when Jewish people, the handicapped, and those whom Hitler deemed subhuman, were systematically murdered.

The former Soviet Union, known for having one of the worst records for human rights violations, was the first country in the modern era to legalize abortion. Mass murderer Vladimir Lenin issued a decree that made the procedure legal. Communist China is well-known for its One-Child Policy, which has caused the deaths of millions of babies. Rep. Talarico claims to fight for women’s rights, but his opinions stand in alignment with regimes that have labeled the unborn as less than human.

Jesus Christ loves life, and He adores every child in the womb. That’s the truth.

Lord Jesus, we pray that Rep. Talarico and all those who share his opinions on abortion would repent of their ungodly beliefs and instead fight for the lives of the unborn. We pray they would see that they are poking their finger in God’s eye because they are advocating for the deaths of the most innocent and defenseless of all–babies in the womb. May they turn from their wicked ways and choose life instead of death.

Then the children were brought to him that he might lay his hands on them and pray. The disciples rebuked the people, but Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven,” Matthew 19:13-14.

I was a student at Liberty University in their clinical mental health program. In the counseling textbook, it spoke to the fact, that some “Christians” support abortion based on a women’s right to choose! The books also instructed counselors that they are to support euthanasia if a client wants this and never, “impose” Christian values! NOT ONCE was scriptures used in these textbooks when discussing these issues!

We cannot water down this issue, especially in Christian universities!
