Father, we thank You for Your power to heal even the deepest wounds and restore lives that seem beyond repair. We ask You to help, heal, and bless all those deluded by the lies of transgenderism.

For years, Jessica Rose believed becoming a man would protect her from the pain and trauma she experienced growing up. Instead, her journey through gender transition left her wounded, empty, and searching for answers. Today, however, she shares a very different testimony—one of healing, redemption, and renewed identity in Christ.

From CBN:

In 2019, Jessica transitioned to becoming a male through hormone therapy and surgery, though stopping short of having a hysterectomy.

“I had a double mastectomy, free nipple regrafts, and they cut my chest,” Jessica said during an interview with CBN News.

Jessica also shared that she even married a woman.

“I became a husband,” she said. “I started to build the American dream. We got a house together. I had the cars. She had a child already, so I became a stepparent and I was building this life I felt that I wanted. I was finally looking like the man I thought I wanted to be, living a life that I thought a man should live.”

After realizing that her choice didn’t erase the pain of her childhood, Jessica attempted suicide.

“I still was not happy because I never addressed the wounds,” said Jessica. “I had never told anyone I was molested. I had never told anybody about the pain, but instead I hid it and said I was born this way. In my suicide attempt, I swallowed a bunch of pills, and I was waiting to die.”

Jessica’s story highlights an issue increasingly discussed in both Christian and secular circles: the connection between childhood trauma and gender confusion. According to her testimony, years of sexual abuse, family instability, and the absence of a father figure contributed to a deep desire to escape womanhood. Rather than addressing those underlying wounds, she sought a new identity through relationships, hormone treatments, surgery, and eventually a complete social transition.

Yet even after achieving what she believed would bring fulfillment, Jessica found herself overwhelmed by unresolved pain. Following her suicide attempt and a stay in a mental health facility, she encountered the gospel through believers who shared God’s love and forgiveness. That message became a turning point in her life. In 2020, she surrendered her life to Christ and began the difficult process of reclaiming her identity as a woman.

Her journey did not end there. Jessica sought guidance on how to care for her body after years of testosterone use and transition-related procedures. Through a connection at her local church, she met Heidi Matzke of Alternatives Pregnancy Center in California. The ministry provided free medical care, counseling, and support as Jessica pursued hormone reversal treatment and learned how to navigate life as a woman once again.

According to Jessica, the pregnancy center’s staff approached her with compassion rather than condemnation. They helped her understand her health needs, walked alongside her through the challenges of detransitioning, and continually pointed her back to Christ. She credits their care and the grace of God with helping her experience healing in areas she once believed were beyond repair.

Jessica’s testimony serves as a reminder that many people struggling with questions of identity are also carrying deep wounds. Her story challenges intercessors to respond with both truth and compassion, recognizing that behind every public issue is a person in need of hope, healing, and the transforming power of Jesus Christ.
