Kim Moffitt is IFA’s new State Co-Leader in Massachusetts, partnering alongside Suzie and Lynne MacAskill. Although newer to the state leader position, Kim has been part of the state prayer group since it began three years ago. She has always had a passion for governmental intercession. Like many, Kim believes that Massachusetts is a key state and that what happens here affects the nation.

Hoping to increase intercession efforts for her state, she collaborated with the MA State Leaders and began a prayer initiative. “No matter where I was, I have always loved prayer walks. Whether I was buying a new house or whatever, I would do a prayer walk and ask the Lord to speak to me,” Kim said. 

“As agreed upon by all the State Leaders, we would begin to hold weekly prayer walks on Tuesdays in front of our Boston State House. I was excited because I wanted to know what the Lord had to say. I sent out an invite and asked if anyone wanted to join me on a Monday morning prayer call.” 

“When I sent the invite for the first week, I had a feeling there wouldn’t be much of a turnout, showing up for the time of prayer. But I settled it in my heart that I made an appointment with heaven that day, and I was going to keep it. That day, the weather was not favorable; the clouds were thick, the sky was dark, and it was pouring icy rain. As I had suspected, no one showed up on the first day. But I was fully prepared for it. I wasn’t disappointed. I believe there is a purpose,” Kim said.

“I have many friends who are intercessors spread across the nations, who recognize that the influence of Massachusetts extends well beyond the State House. They messaged me, prayed with me, and encouraged me. Standing in the rain, I held out my cellphone towards the State House, and together we made prophetic declarations calling forth a governmental shift. My friends understand that Massachusetts came first. What happens in our State Houses will affect their state houses.” 

“At the end of the prayer time, I took communion in front of the State House, in the pouring rain.  I make it a habit to have mini proportioned communion cups in my purse. The weather was dark and pouring, but as soon as I finished taking communion, the sun began to break through the dark clouds. It was confirmation that heaven had heard my prayers and the Lord was with me.” 

Two Are Better Than One

“The second week, a woman from our IFA Massachusetts Prayer calls reached out and asked to join me for the Tuesday morning prayer walk after hearing about it on their Monday night prayer call. She was reluctant at first, but craved community. She realized the desperation that Massachusetts is in. She took the train down to Boston, as I did, and we met.”  

I reached out to her early that morning because it was snowing. I told her that, whatever her limitations were, if she didn’t feel up to it, it would be understandable, but I was still going to pray. But she said she would still show up; I said, “Hallelujah!” The Lord has doubled our numbers.” 

“During the ninety minutes that we prayed and walked the perimeter of our beautiful MAState House, we walked in snow, rain, and at one point, sleet. But within a couple of minutes, we didn’t even care about the weather; there was such joy. Because we were doing what we were supposed to be doing.”

The Right Place at the Right Time

“That morning, inside the MA State House, there was a Hearing on a Bill crafted to further remove our protection as citizens by limiting how much access ICE has to enter. The agents have really been villainized. But God knew what He was doing, because while they were inside the State House discussing this bill, there were intercessors outside of the State House praying, and I don’t believe it’s a coincidence.”

We are going to be doing these prayer walks every week, and when I’m not around, if I’m busy, my prayer is that people will continue to go. Our next prayer walk is this coming Tuesday, and the next one all the way through May. We will meet at 11:00 a.m., and I chose 11:00 because Massachusetts is in the eleventh hour,” Kim said.

I pray this encourages you as an intercessor to step out in boldness. Maybe you could prayer walk around your state house, or, if you are in the Massachusetts area, you can join IFA MA and Kim for these weekly prayer walks. I have no doubt that these prayer walks will produce a harvest of righteousness. God has already added another team member. The greatest miracles always begin with someone’s obedience. All it takes is for you to say to God. 

How are you praying for your state?

Father, we come before You and thank You for Kim’s prayer walk initiative and for the IFA Massachusetts State Prayer Group that continues to hold the line and cry out on behalf of their state. I pray that You will multiply their efforts and their state prayer team. Let people whose hearts burn for righteousness find the group and join. And I pray that You will continue to add numbers to the prayer walk. You said, one could chase a thousand, and two could put ten thousand to flight. So, we praise You for the two faithful prayer walkers. 

I agree that this is the eleventh hour for Massachusetts. Your word shows us that at the eleventh hour, it is never too late. We join our intercession and faith and pray for that eleventh-hour miracle. Eleven also symbolized resurrection, so we pray that dry bones will come to life in Massachusetts, and that these founding gates would fling wide open and let the King of glory come in, in Jesus’ name, amen.
