A federal appeals court has handed down a landmark ruling in favor of religious expression in public schools, affirming the place of America’s biblical heritage in the classroom. The decision is an answer to our prayers for the restoration of biblical truth in our classrooms.

Pray for your fellow intercessor.

From Fox News:

A federal appeals court has upheld a Texas law requiring public schools across the state to display the Ten Commandments—a major victory for religious freedom advocates who have long argued the biblical text is intertwined with America’s legal, moral, and historical heritage.

In a 9–8 ruling, the 17-member Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals held that Senate Bill 10, the law passed by Texas’ Republican-led legislature, does not violate either the Constitution’s Establishment Clause or the Free Exercise Clause.

“Because Plaintiffs fail to show that S.B. 10 substantially burdens their right to religious exercise, their Free Exercise claims must be dismissed,” the court’s majority opinion stated.

The ruling from the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals reverses a lower court’s earlier injunction and allows Texas schools to move forward with displaying the Ten Commandments in classrooms. Supporters argue the law simply acknowledges the historical and moral foundation these biblical principles have had on American law, while critics claim it crosses the line between church and state.

Backers of the law, including Texas leaders and religious liberty advocates, say this decision reaffirms the nation’s spiritual heritage and corrects years of legal precedent that sought to remove faith from the public square. By rejecting older interpretations rooted in the now-abandoned “Lemon test,” the court signaled a shift toward a more historically grounded understanding of the Constitution.

Opponents, including groups like the ACLU, have vowed to continue the legal fight, arguing that such displays could pressure students of different faiths. Still, the court’s decision reflects a growing movement to reintroduce biblical truth into public life and education.

Intercessors, YOU prayed for this victory. Let’s continue to pray that His Word would once again be honored in our nation, that our children would be grounded in truth, and that our leaders would boldly stand for righteousness.
