Hezbollah and Iran launched a coordinated strike strategy Tuesday, a national security expert claimed, as reports emerged that deadly cluster munitions were hitting Israel in synchronized attacks.

“Hezbollah has fully joined the war, and it looks like they are now very well coordinated with Iran,” Kobi Michael, a senior researcher at the Institute for National Security Studies and the Misgav Institute, told Fox News Digital while speaking from his bomb shelter near Tel Aviv.

Israel confirmed Tuesday that Iran had been firing cluster munitions — adding a complicated and deadly challenge to Israel’s stretched air defenses, The Associated Press reported.

These warheads, banned by more than 120 countries, are difficult to intercept and “often result in catastrophic civilian harm,” according to Fox News. Michael highlighted the fact that Iran is targeting civilians and using “non-conventional weapons,” stressing that the “American-Israeli response must be appropriate.”

Tuesday night, Israel reportedly retaliated against Hezbollah, launching a wave of airstrikes. An Israeli military official also confirmed on Tuesday that roughly half of the projectiles launched by Iran at this point in the conflict are now cluster bombs.

Meanwhile, as Israel battled Hezbollah, U.S. forces reportedly destroyed 16 Iranian mine-laying boats near the Strait of Hormuz.

The Pentagon said U.S. forces destroyed 16 Iranian mine-laying boats near the Strait of Hormuz on Tuesday.

The minelayers were among multiple Iranian naval vessels “eliminated” by the United States, U.S. Central Command said in an X post.

President Donald Trump, in an earlier post on his Truth Social platform, warned Tehran that if “for any reason mines were placed, and they are not removed forthwith, the military consequences to Iran will be at a level never seen before.”

As Operation Epic Fury continues, President Trump has made protecting the Strait of Hormuz a priority. While 20% of the world’s oil usually passes through the Strait, traffic has come to standstill as Iranian forces threaten traders. This has caused oil prices to skyrocket, leading to a sharp increase in gas prices in America.

As conflict continues, neither side seems willing to back down. Iranian military officials claimed yesterday that they are prepared for a lengthy “war of attrition.” Meanwhile, President Trump told Axios yesterday that the operation would end “soon,” as there is “practically nothing left to target.” “Any time I want it to end, it will end,” the President claimed.
