Since October of last year, former Mesa County Clerk Tina Peters has sat in prison over attempts to protect election integrity. Now, however, following accusations of abuse, the Department of Justice is investigating the state’s prison system—including the facility where Peters is being held.

On December 8, Assistant Attorney General Harmeet K. Dhillon sent an official notice to Colorado Governor Jared Polis announcing the opening of a sweeping Civil Rights Division investigation into the Colorado Department of Corrections (DOC) and the Department of Youth Services (DYS).
The investigation covers conditions across 21 state-run facilities and 12 youth centers, including the facility where Tina Peters is currently incarcerated.
This action comes after mounting reports of constitutional violations, excessive force, unsafe conditions, medical neglect, and religious discrimination inside Colorado prisons.

Peters has appeared on IFA webcasts previously, and we have covered her story in several articles. IFA Contributing Writer Rich Swingle detailed her plight last December, writing that she was found “guilty of seven of 10 counts connected to using county employee Gerald Wood’s badge to help Conan Hayes, a cybersecurity expert, to make forensic copies of the election management server (EMS) hard drive.”
According to The Gateway Pundit (TGP), Peters has faced abuse and unfair treatment in prison. She was reportedly strip-searches and thrown into solitary confinement on November 20. Earlier in the month, TGP says her cell was kept at a low temperature barely above freezing, leading Peters to become very sick. TGP even shared a message from a close friend of Peters’ who said of the former election clerk, “her health is not good and deteriorating as we speak.”
Abuses like these cannot continue, and the Department of Justice agrees. As AAG Dhillon put it, “Prisoners,” despite their crimes and convictions, “have civil rights.” Let’s ask the Lord to guide this investigation!

Thank you, Father, for this investigation. I pray it would reveal all the injustices and force the state to do right by those who do not agree with their political stands. Touch Tina Peters with your healing hand and may the charges against her be dropped as she goes before the Supreme Court and the fines assessed against her will be dropped. Restore her and give her courage. May she not fear for the future, but find new hope in you. Praise your name.
I apologize for wrong information on Tina Peters. She is not before the Supreme Court; there is another case involving someone unjustly put in prison and fined. May God resolve both these cases and bring to these women justice in your name for doing what needed to be done.

Lord we humbly ask that you give Harmeet Dhillon and her department wisdom is dealing with the state of Colorado, and its blatant corruption, we ask that you put your Mighty Hand of Protection on Tina Peters, we ask that you heal her of any ailments and that you would see to it that she is released form prison and that the state of Colorado is held accountable for their corruption. Dear Lord we are calling out for the release of Tina Peters from the CO prison. She is an innocent child of God! She was doing her (required) work as a Clerk of Court, protecting the voters in her district, and because of that, she has been punished relentlessly. Lord, we heard the arrogant judge that sentenced her, and we ask that you deal with him as well. We call out and declare in Jesus’ Mighty and Powerful Name the release and freedom of Tina Peters! We praise and thank you Lord for blessing and protecting her through this horrible ordeal. Amen and Amen
Thank God for Assistant Attorney General Harmeet K. Dhillon who has brought this case to national attention. I have been praying for Tina since she was unlawfully arrested and left to suffer in political prison. God has been with her from day one and will continue to keep her safe until her release. May that come swiftly.
This investigation is an answer to our prayers. May Tina Peters be released and physically healed from the abuse she has suffered. May her suffering not be in vain. Give wisdom to the entire team of investigators. May Justice and fair treatment result. May those responsible for abuses repent.
We pray, Lord, that you give Harmeet Dhillon the wisdom and supernatural insight regarding the Colorado prison system in order that Tina Peters receives justice and is set for free. We ask you to watch over and guard Tina Peters in these horrific circumstances. We stand with her and trust you by faith that you will see her through this ordeal. We agree and decree that you will hold those responsible for applying the law in such a way as to persecute a Christian, a believer in Jesus Christ. This ought not be in the United States of America. The evil and unjust treatment of Tina Peters sparks righteous anger in us who love our Lord and Savior Jesus! I am asking in the mighty Name that is above every name–Jesus–that Tina Peters be declared not guilty and transferred to a hospital to be attended to by godly doctors and nurses who are aware of her unjust imprisonment! Dear Almighty, Eternal God, I believe You reminded me of Joseph who was also falsely imprisoned. I believe You not only kept him from death but You kept him faithful. Please keep Tina strong in body and in faith as You reveal her plan of rescue…I believe it is coming. I TRUST in You alone to provide for her every need…especially those needs we cannot comprehend. May she receive everything we are asking because we TRUST that You hear our prayers and You areour confidence. I am asking this and so much more, in the Name of Jesus Christ. The things going out with Mrs. peters is deplorable

This country is not in a good place from the top of our government down. We need to be on our knees praying in reciting second Chronicles 714.
This country needs Jesus we all need Jesus our focus has to be Christ centered. This evil that seems to invade every face of life!

– dismiss the partisan judge and prison authorities /wardens for miscarriage of justice and human rights abuses – even attempted murder as Tina Peters is a Biden-state political prisoner whose health has been seriously undermined by freezing conditions and nutritional neglect She has suffered human rights abuses such as strip searches.
May she be given an immediate President’s pardon as the US attempts to lead the world in upholding human rights may they clean house. Just as overseas aid is cut for violations, may it happen at state level to stop their pet projects being funded.
And may the judge responsible for wrongful politically motivated imprisonment be removed and the prison governors and wardens responsible for human and civil rights also be dismissed and debarred from working in the sector as they cannot be trusted.
