From The Epoch Times:

With its $9 billion top line in cuts, the bill represents one of the largest rescissions ever passed through the Senate under the Impoundment Control Act of 1974. It’s $400 million less than the original House-passed package, after cuts related to an anti-HIV initiative were stripped from the bill.

Most of the bill’s cuts—$7.9 billion—stem from rescissions of funding for the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). These are linked to several controversial international social projects undertaken during President Joe Biden’s administration, identified by the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

The other $1.1 billion comes from funding cuts to the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, which oversees NPR and PBS.

The Senate did remove a provision that would have cut $400 million from the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) program, initiated by President George W. Bush. The removal of this provision ensured a yes vote from Senator McConnell, who had strongly opposed the cuts.

In the wake of the 51-48 vote, several House Republicans expressed disappointment with the revisions made by the Senate. Representative Glenn Grothman was especially critical. According to the Times, he said:

“We’re aware that under normal circumstances, the Republicans in the Senate are not as fiscally as responsible as the Republicans in the House,“ Grothman told reporters. ”So this is disappointing but not surprising news.”

While this measure may not have pleased every Republican, it’s important to focus on the fact that the Senate passed $9 billion in cuts to the bloated federal government. Let’s praise God and pray for more measures like this in the future!

So grateful this passed. It’s time to hold the government responsible for spending taxpayer money. Thank you Jesus!

We have learned that some of the democrats receive personal (?) and campaign funding from the billions of taxpayer dollars spent on things that none of us taxpayers voted on. Saints it is time for us to review the pet projects of our senators and representatives that are freely receiving and spending our tax dollars, and VOTE THEM OUT OF OFFICE UNLESS THEY ARE REPRESENTING US WITH THEIR SPENDING
VOTES! FATHER GOD please speak to our entire Congress about being fiscally responsible with our federal budget because it is not free money!! It is our money that we work hard for!! Also please remind Congress that they are not in Washington for themselves, but to represent our interests in JESUS NAME! Please remove every self-serving individual in our government! Let there be a mass exodus of the selfish and sending of the ones that put their constituents needs and desires above their own in JESUS MIGHTY NAME! Amen!
