After only 24 hours in office, President Trump has already passed several executive orders. What do you think of his day 1 actions?

Donald Trump began signing a slew of executive orders soon after taking the oath as president Monday, looking to quickly implement his agenda, with his plans including declaring a national emergency on the U.S.-Mexico border, ordering construction on his border wall to resume, and terminating diversity programs in federal agencies.

The first order he signed before a crowd at the Capital One Arena revoked approximately 80 executive actions that had been signed by former President Joe Biden. He also signed a freeze on new regulations, as well as a hiring freeze on federal workers. And Trump also withdrew — again — from the Paris climate treaty. …
The orders are part of a broad plan that’s expected to include more than 50 items in total signed by the new president following his inauguration, as he seeks a quick Day 1 start. …
Other orders his team has said he’d sign by the end of the day include a directive to bring an end to birthright citizenship, transition officials told reporters in a call ahead of the actions Monday.
Birthright citizenship has been understood to be required under the 14th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, which states: “All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States.”
Democrats and some legal groups have vowed to challenge in court any Trump attempt to do away with birthright citizenship. …
Immigration overhaul
Trump’s other executive orders on immigration would reinstate the “Remain in Mexico” policy from his first administration for those seeking to enter the U.S. through Mexico, while another is set to designate cartels and migrant gangs, specifically MS-13 and Tren de Aragua, as Foreign Terrorist Organizations. …
Trump’s declaration of a national emergency at the border would allow the Defense Department to deploy the U.S. military and the National Guard to the border. …
Reversing diversity initiatives
Not all of the executive orders are about border and immigration policy. One is set to do away with diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) initiatives within the federal government. …
Another order will say it’s the policy of the U.S. to recognize two sexes — male and female — including on all government documents such as passports and visas. …
Reforms — and cuts — for government workers
As had been previously announced, Trump will also sign an order creating the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), which will have a mission of cutting government spending, according to Karoline Leavitt, the incoming White House press secretary. …
On Trump’s agenda as well is an order reimplementing “Schedule F,” an executive order that strips job protections from nonpolitical career officials in policy roles throughout the federal bureaucracy. The move makes it significantly easier for a president to fire them. …

My husband and I thank God for giving us President Trump to help get the USA back on track. He is reversing many of Biden’s erroneous laws and regulations that hurt the country and the American people. I feel that his job includes bringing the American people back to belief in God and giving the honor and glory to God for all things. I watched all the events unfold with JOY in my heart. I had wondered at GOD allowing Biden to take office over the past four years and slowly realized , it was to awaken my nation to the depth of the depravity that leftist thinking and goals were being foisted upon us. The firm hold on the media that tried to influence our thinking…..but in the end had the opposite effect on the major population. The overwhelming rejection of the evil administration was evident on Election Day. Glory to God ! HIS wisdom is far above mine. HE anointed a Warrior in President Trump to lead us back courageously from the precipice. I’m thrilled at the choices made for the cabinet, too. The signing of the proclamations was refreshing to my soul. How open our NEW President is. Answering questions as he signed a slew of historical documents… and many freeing us from bondage to petty ungodly ideals. God be Praised!! We are free at last!! We cannot be complacent… the enemy will kick back, and the leftists will try every legal trick to block this progress. Keep our nation in prayer. God bless America and every one of us. Amen.
I highly agree with Pres. Trumps executive orders EXCEPT changing the name Mt. Denali back to Mt. McKinley. It is an affront to the Alaskan and Athabaskan Natives to change the name of the mountain they named and called it for centuries, rather than it being an affront to former President McKinley.
There needs to be great reform in the federal government and many restraints need to be put on it to protect the people from the government’s overreach and corruption. However, I am somewhat concerned about the partnership with Elon Musk and the President’s declaration to collaborate with the building of multiple, massive AI plants.
I agree with the President’s choices and I pray these will help the U.S. It will be interesting to see how DOGE plays out. In the past administrations have added unnecessary positions to reward their political supporters. This had created a Bureaucracy that is constantly tripping over itself. I will use the DOD of the 1990’s as an example. Over 300,000 civilians were added but 1/3 were just high paying overhead positions, not workers. It would be nice to make the government more efficient.

I’m concerned about the Schedule F battle. Schedule F stripped job protections from career officials in policy roles throughout the bureaucracy and made it significantly easier for a president to fire civil servants. Advocates are focusing on two paths to stop Schedule F or a similar initiative. One is an Office of Personnel Management (OPM) regulation, introduced in September, that would both tighten job securities for civil servants and limit the positions that could have those protections removed. The second is a legislative effort led by Rep. Gerry Connolly, D-Va., along with Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick, R-Pa., and Sen. Tim Kaine, D-Va., that would require congressional approval for any plan to create new employee designations within the federal workforce.

According to Your word in Proverbs 14:34, may Your righteousness exalt our nation, as sin is a reproach to any people. I don’t know the details of every executive order or policy, as I’m learning about each one, but I pray that every wicked policy that does not further Your purposes, be eradicated, in the name of the Lord Jesus, Yeshua, Son of the living God. Our nation must stop the practice of always looking for something to criticize. If we have mandated a change in our nation’s leadership, and we have, then we need to support our leadership with prayer and prayer that they will hear from God and then act.
