Elderly Pro-Life Activist Sentenced to 2 Years in Prison
A 75-year-old pro-life activist has been sentenced to 2 years in prison. She did break the law, but it this truly a just punishment?
From Townhall. President Joe Biden’s Department of Justice (DOJ) has been quite eager to prosecute prayerful pro-life activists using the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act, including an elderly grandfather. Since then, more grandparents have been sentenced, including grandmothers in poor health.
Have you taken your place on the wall?
Late last month, 59-year-old Heather Idoni was sentenced to 24 [months] in prison. She’s already been incarcerated for nine months, which will count towards time served. It’s been far from a pleasant experience for the grandmother, as Live Action News revealed …
Paulette Harlow was the final defendant sentenced in this case. She was sentenced last Friday, also to 24 months. As Live Action News highlighted about this more unique defendant, the 75-year-old grandmother is in particularly poor health. This case has received particular attention, given Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly’s callous attitude toward Harlow, and how her husband pled for mercy [Emphasis added]:
Defense attorney [Allen] Orenberg emphasized that Harlow’s health is rapidly declining, and that interrupting her current care by sending her to prison would be detrimental to her already-fragile condition. “She cannot continue to exist without support, especially that of her husband,” Orenberg stated. He also noted that Harlow is a mother of 6, including 4 adopted children, and a grandmother of 8, as well as a respected member of both her civic and church communities.
John Harlow spoke next, delivering a heartfelt emotional statement on his wife’s behalf. “I feel like Paulette is dying,” he said. “In my heart, I think she’s having a hard time staying alive.” He referred to himself as his wife’s “valet,” explaining that he provides all of her necessary care, and expressed that he would gladly take her place in prison, if he could. …
Judge Kollar-Kotelly echoed the accusations of the prosecution in her closing comments, claiming that Harlow violated abortion-seekers’ civil rights, describing the rescue action as “violent,” and characterizing Harlow as lacking in kindness and remorse. After pronouncing sentence, Kollar-Kotelly made a cryptic statement regarding her hope that Harlow would “make an effort to remain alive” because that is a “tenet of [Harlow’s] religion.” …
Like the judge, prosecutor Rebecca Ross appeared dismissive about Harlow’s health, even claiming the defendant used her poor health as an “excuse” to “escape the consequences” of her actions. She recommended a sentence of 33-41 months for Harlow. …

Almighty Father grant wisdom so that all life can be celebrated.
In Jesus’s name Amen
Heavenly Father, we appeal to You for this one faithful lady values the lives of the unborn. Truly, it is an abuse of justice for her to have been sentenced to prison for 24 months. We pray that You would give her favor, to have her sentence cut short. I pray her sacrifice is not in vain, that her action of protest would ring in the consciousness and consciences of mothers who are seeking abortions, that these women would come to see that they carry life and that it is not for them to cut life short. Truly transform these women in crisis, that they would seek You. We also pray You would grind to a halt the abortion mills that are still far too prevalent across the country. Change many hearts to value life. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
Father God- Please protect Paulette as she goes to prison. Make her a shining light in the darkness. Protect her life and heal her body as a testimony to Your grace. Give her and her husband peace in this. Help her to count it all joy to be able to make this testimony on the behalf of the unborn. Keep her safe from the enemy and help her to be released as soon as possible, according to Your will. In Jesus Name, Amen
He delivers… “Thou doest hide them in the secret place from the conspiracies of man; Thou doest keep them secretly in a shelter from the strife of tongues.” Psalm 32:20
Father God, I lift up Paulette and her family to you. I pray that the glory of the LORD will cover them, bringing supernatural healing, joy, peace, etc.
Psalm 92:12-15 The righteous will flourish like a palm tree, and grow like a cedar in Lebanon; Planted in the house of the LORD, they will flourish in the courts of our God.In old age they will still bear fruit; healthy and green they will remain, to proclaim, “The LORD is upright; He is my Rock, and in Him there is no unrighteousness.”
Lord God, if it’s your plan for Paulette to go to prison, we pray now that the GLORY OF THE LORD will fall upon the prison that she’s going to — to cause the GREATEST REVIVAL THAT THE WORLD has ever seen.
Father God, put a mark upon Paulette, that nothing of evil can touch her while she’s in prison. Ezekiel 9:4,6 Then the glory of the God of Israel rose from above the cherubim, where it had been, and moved to the threshold of the temple. And He called to the man clothed in linen who had the writing kit at his side. 4“Go throughout the city of Jerusalem,” said the LORD, “and put a mark on the foreheads of the men sighing and groaning over all the abominations committed there.” ….. ” But do not touch anyone with the mark.” In Jesus name, amen
Dear Heavenly Father, I agree with Anita’s prayer and I also ask for You to “put a mark on the forehead of Pauline as she is suffering over all the abortions taking countless little lives.” ….. Please let this mark be visible to everyone and do not allow her to be touched but may she touch countless through her faith and love for You. I ask this in Jesus’ Name. Amen
Father God, I lift up Paulette to you for mercy grace and protection and a reversal of this insane sentence imposed upon her. In Jesus Name,Amen!
Lord I pray that in judgement you’ll remember mercy I ask that you’ll deal with these unjust judges who have preverted our justice system to oppress the elderly and young people speak to your daughter’s and comfort them Paulette will live and not die in the name of the Father the Son and the Holy Spirit! amen
My heart, thoughts, and prayers are with all – especialy Paulette. It is disgusting how the left can destroy things, murder babies, loot, harm other people and not do anytime but this woman was trying to SAVE some lives and she is punished along with others that were doing the same. Disgraceful!
Lord, please intervene and work Your miracle for Paulette and John Harlow. Give them hope and peace in Your powerful righteousness and sustaining love. Grant Your mercy and a reprieve from this onerous sentence. Release her from the enemy as You released Peter miraculously from prison. We pray this in the matchless and mighty name of Jesus.
