In an effort towards establishing Palestinian statehood, just under three-quarters of the United Nations General Assembly has voted favorably, pushing the Security Council to accept a Palestinian State as the 194th member of the UN. However, the vote doesn’t actually grant statehood, despite the proposed new “rights and privileges,” as the looming obstacle of the Security Council’s final sanction remains. Notably, nine defiant voices included the United States and Israel, among others, opposing the resolution; with Israel’s representative, Gilad Erdan, dramatically tearing a copy of the U.N. Charter on stage, asserting that the movement for inclusion of a Palestinian state contravenes the Charter of the UN.

The SAVE act, designed to prevent illegal immigrants from voting in federal elections, is awaiting a vote in the House as evidence surfaces demonstrating illegal immigrants are already participating in local elections. Representative Chip Roy, lead sponsor of the SAVE act, refers to documents detailing a DC training program guiding illegal immigrants on how to vote in local elections. Despite Federal law only allowing citizens to vote in federal elections, without requiring proof of citizenship, concerns about the influence of non-citizens on federal ballots highlight the need for measures like the SAVE act to verify voter citizenship.

In an assertion that’s raising eyebrows, an Iranian parliament member, Ahmad Bakhshayesh Ardestani, has proclaimed that Iran already possesses nuclear weapons, a claim he made on the Iran-based outlet Rouydad 24. This announcement from Ardestani, who was just re-elected to Iran’s quasi-parliament in March, emerges amidst warnings from the United Nation’s atomic watchdog agency that Iran has accumulated enough uranium to fabricate “several” nukes. While experts advise caution in interpreting Ardestani’s comments given his potential lack of access to the regime’s nuclear decision-making circle, the bold statement undeniably adds a new dimension to the ongoing debate surrounding Iran’s nuclear intentions.

A year before the DOJ conducted a raid at Mar-a-Lago, a federal agency had already transported document boxes related to Donald Trump’s presidency to the same site. The General Services Administration revealed in emails that two of six pallets filled with items from Trump’s tenure were sent directly to Mar-a-Lago, though the specifics of the documents and if they played any role in the ensuing raid remains unclear. Both the National Archives and Records Administration and the GSA deny having any knowledge of the documents’ contents or any involvement in the raided materials.

Let’s pray about these issues. Holy God, we lift up the United Nations before you. Make this global organization into a strong ally of Israel at this time, and stop its members from siding with those who seek to divide Your land. We lift up our elections as November draws nearer. As the open border persists, we pray that You would keep illegal immigrants from voting in our elections. We also pray that Iran, a country dedicated to Israel’s downfall, would be kept from holding and using nuclear weaponry. Finally, we pray for the truth to come out in Donald Trump’s classified documents trial. Let any evidence tampering or other instances of injustice come to light! In Jesus name, amen.
