I Prayed have prayed
Lord, use this film about some who were killed in A.D. 203 for being Christians, to target our prayers for those persecuted today.
Reading Time: 2 minutes

A film about Perpetua — who was martyred for her faith about 1,820 years ago — is now available to watch online and with your church. Not only does it bring to life the first book we know was written by a woman, but it also shines a spotlight on the 360 million people being persecuted for their faith in Jesus Christ today.

Pray for your fellow intercessor.

I’ve been connected to this project since 1992, when I prayed for Christian performing artists of excellence to be raised up in New England, where I was attending Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. That very year, Jasmine Myers was given a VHS cassette for a musical about the Book of Acts that she watched over and over from the time she was 2. In the summer of 2021, I was blessed when she cast me in her film, The Diary of Perpetua.

I caught up with Myers and two cast members — Nooshig Salvador (who plays a deaconess who serves Perpetua and the other Christians before they’re fed to wild beasts), and Leah Fisher (who plays one of those Christians) — at the Content2022 Film Festival and Media Summit, after the New York City premiere and at the Christian Worldview Film Festival, to talk about their participation in the film. Also, Tim Shields, director of Content2022, expresses his appreciation for the film and prays that it will inspire many.

Salvador is glad the film is giving her a platform to talk about today’s Armenian Genocide in Azerbaijan. She and Father Andreas Garabedian did an interview to talk about the siege of an Armenian village that has lasted for about 120 days.

Post your prayers below for The Diary of Perpetua and for today’s persecuted Church.

Nooshig Luz Salvador sent a link to this page where people can take action to stop the ongoing Armenian Genocide: https://anca.org/blockade-alert

Praying many reach out to our leaders and that relief is given!

How should we now prepare should persecution come to the U.S.? It is possible that we are entering the end times. Having a supply of food and water is a good idea in case of an emergency. Should we move somewhere? If so, where? I am considering a move but I need the Lord’s direction.

Lord, I pray that you would use this film to make more people aware of how Christians are persecuted today, especially in today’s Armenian Genocide!
