I Prayed have prayed
Father, we pray that Your will would be done in the midterms. Raise up Your chosen candidates and inspire them to lead boldly and righteously, God.
Reading Time: 2 minutes

How should Christians treat the midterms, or any other election? Should we vote? Would Jesus vote? What do you think?

From Fox News. When election season rolls around, Christians tend to go to one of two extremes. For some, the election becomes all-consuming. …

Get prayer updates from IFA.

Others view the election with distaste. They do all they can to avoid and ignore it. …

We have to ask ourselves: Is there a better way? Should Christians vote? Would Jesus vote?

Jesus gave direction for how Christians should relate to politics and culture in the Sermon on the Mount. He told us to be His salt and light (Matthew 5:13–14). As “salt” in the world, Christ calls us to influence our culture rather than isolate ourselves from it. …

It’s our job to vote for the candidate and the party whose policies will best contribute to the common good. …

But to Christians who view elections as all-important, there’s a caution in order. Don’t forget that for a Christian, political change is not the ultimate goal. Politics is important because it can help us continue pursuing our true goals.

The Christian’s highest calling is to show the light of Christ to the world. We do that by sharing the good news of God’s forgiveness which comes through faith in Jesus Christ. Earthly governments can either hinder or facilitate that proclamation. …

Christians aren’t called to save America. We’re called to save Americans from God’s judgment by sharing the good news of Christ’s forgiveness.

So, yes, Christians have both the right and responsibility to vote in this election.  But remember why you’re doing it and what ultimate purpose voting serves.

What America needs most is not a politician or a party. We need a genuine spiritual revival that only God can bring.

My prayer — without ceasing, especially on this election day — is that we be led by Divine Wisdom and Power back toward our original, unique founding feature of being “one nation under God” — setting America apart from all other nations before and since.

I pray our nation to once again be mighty and strong with morals and values once again. ‘One nation under God’ if it be your will Lord. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.

I think one of the biggest issues Christians have and maybe non-Christians too, is that we don’t like politics. There is good reason for that, because there is division. I would just like to point out that if you want to use your disdain for politics to justify your reasons for “not voting”, you might want to think about what Moses would say about this. He was obedient to the plans of God as God used him to save a whole nation, the Hebrew people in Egypt, a place of captivity where God wanted to save and rescue all of them in captivity. We cannot all be Moses at that level, but God has a plan and a purpose for all of us at many levels, and we can know that Jesus gave us the authority and power to trample serpents and scorpions and all the power of the enemy, so nothing shall injure us (Luke 10:19). Think about the sins of omission when we do nothing! Lord, I pray for obedience that we would pray FIRST for kings and authorities in our nation . . . (1 Tim 2:1-7) so that we can have peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness. Let us vote for godly leaders to seek the righteousness and justice of God. Thank you Father for the blessings you give to us in America.

Jesus told us to render unto Caesar what is Caesars in to render on to God it was God’s. If that is the case then our tax dollars are rendered to “Caesar” which gives us a voice in our government. Besides the fact that this country was founded on biblical principles and for the glory of God to spread the gospel around the world and be a light in the world. We can’t do that if we’re not a Christian nation. Therefore our vote counts and we should be voting for righteous leaders

We definitely should vote. And vote Biblical principles. And pray God’s will will be done.

Jesus paid taxes and urged us to do so. He participated in the rights and obligations of government. I think Jesus would vote.

“But to Christians who view elections as all-important, there’s a caution in order. Don’t forget that for a Christian, political change is not the ultimate goal. Politics is important because it can help us continue pursuing our true goals.” A wise statement. Father, may we remember as we vote that it is all in your hands. May we vote wisely but not trust politics to be the answer for only you are the answer.

In order for us to see change all Christians around the United States need to go out and vote we will never see any change unless the church comes out of their comfy pews and building and start doing something in the Bible God expects us to go first and if you’re not doing anything don’t bother to complain father God I lift up all the Christians that you will steer the heart to go and vote tomorrow and vote for the right candidates in Jesus name I pray
