During a phone call with President Trump, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky accepted a partial ceasefire deal. As Ukraine and Russia inch closer to peach, Zelensky posted on X that he believes “lasting peace can be achieved this year.”

The call came one day after aĀ similar conversation between Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin, and centered on many of the issues previously discussed in that call. Letās give President Trump and all the other nations working on a lasting peace in the region. With Godās guidance it can happen. Stand strong on the wall invite others and trust in God. ššš
What does Trump’s so called ‘peace’ look like to Ukrainians? One fifth of Ukrainians trapped behind an ‘iron curtain”, unable to see or communicate with relatives in the ‘free’ Ukraine and family members detained and tortured. Their schools taken over by Russians trying to brain wash their children. Their language and culture suppressed. Free Ukraine watching helplessly while Russia rearms and strengthens its military knowing that it is only a matter of time before they are attacked.
Some of the people who post here know nothing about the history of the region (canāt help but wonder why they post at all). During Holodomor, the man-made famine created by Russia, 3.5 to 5 million Ukrainians died. Historians agree that it was engineered to destroy Ukraine resistance to Russian rule. āStalin saw Ukraineās cultural autonomy as a threat and sought to destroy the Ukrainian peasantry and intelligentsia to prevent independence movements.ā
Yes, that is one reason why there are people of Russian descent in Ukraine. Russia tried to replace the Ukrainians who died with Russians. But most of their descendants are fighting against Russia. They saw how Russia treated the people in Crimean. (You mean your news sources aren’t telling you this!!!!)
Many donāt understand. If Zelensky agrees that Russia can retained the territory it captured, the civilians who Russia has arrested (but not charged with anything) in those areas (many of the men, 10,000 and upward) have no status and disappear. They are not considered POWs. Their names have never been released. Zelensky would, in effect, have disowned Ukrainian citizens living in those areas and be turning them over to the Russians. This is about more than land.
There is no reason to believe that Putin intends to abide by a peace agreement any longer than it takes for him to strengthen his military. He has publicly stated his goals. This is his third attempt at what is turning out to be a successful attempt to expand Russia territory.
I donāt understand. IFA prays for Putin, but not Xi or Zelensky (who is Jewish) to receive Christ (i.e. pray for all THREE).
Lord. President Trump is a negotiator and wrote “The Art of the Deal.”
The first meeting with President Zelenskyy did not go well and now
he wants to talk about it again. President Trump had a great call
with President Putin and it seems like they are both wanting to come
to the table and agree on something. There will be a lot of talking and
negotiating going on. This Ukraine and Russian War needs to end.
It is going nowhere. Only death and destruction. We need Peace through Strength.

Lord, we would love to see peace between the countries of Ukraine and Russia. I believe that Pres. Putin may be willing to negotiate that peace. I do not feel that Zelenskyy is willing to cooperate in an honest effort. He seems most interested in financial help from the USA, but we feel we have given way too much in this area. If Zelenskyy is not willing to do the will of his own people, then please remove him and replace him with someone who doesn’t want to see more blood shed. In Jesus’s Name, we declare and decree that this be in alignment with Your Will, Father. Amen and Amen!

The Ukrainians have been fighting against being absorbed by Russia for a very long time. Even before WWI. They have a separate culture. They have a separate language. Russia’s domination of Ukraine has been brutal.
The Ukrainians in the areas that Russia has taken over are resisting Russia. They see themselves as Ukrainians and are remaining loyal. MAGA, isolated and seeking out only news sources that tell them what they want to hear, don’t seem to be aware that Trump is asking Zelensky to abandon his own people.
MAGA doesn’t seem to be aware that the rest of the world understand this which means that MAGA appears uneducated, and their religion appears selfish and ugly.
Please work in this situation to bring about Your will and purposes for this region, these people groups, and these nations, that they may have opportunity to align with You and fulfill their God-given destinies.
God’s will is not to turn over people to an oppressor.
The article above does not mention that within hours after Putin agreed to not attack Ukraine energy, Russia launched attacks against them. So much for Putin not violating agreements he makes with Trump.
If one follows your reasoning, the good Samaritan should have bypassed the man lying beaten in the middle of the road because ‘it was God’s will’. If God gives you the means to help someone, it is your responsibility to be His hands.

I do, Liz. I set myself in alignment with God’s stated desire – He wills that none perish! (2 Peter 3:9) But I also recognize that God’s Word tells us “Go in through the narrow gate; for the gate that leads to destruction is wide and the road broad, and many travel it;Ā but it is a narrow gate and a hard road that leads to life, and only a few find it.Ā Mat 7:13-14 We never know who the “whosoever” will be, so we leave that in His hands, but pray for an opportunity for them to hear and respond to the Gospel – and if we are able, be the answer to our own prayer. Ā

I want to remind you that Ecclesiastes says, ‘there is a time for war and a time for peace.’ The peace making you are talking about is when two neighbors or two brothers who are in a disagreement. It is not about ‘peace making’ with Satan by agreeing to his demands. It is not about turning over a victim to be exploited.
While MAGA sees itself as ‘peace makers’ because they have isolated themselves and only listen to their own feedback loop, the rest of the world sees MAGA as being without understanding (or the realities of what is happening in Ukraine or of history) or compassion. This could turn out to be one of the most shameful periods of American history.
If Jesus was here today, he would have put MAGA on the same shelf as the Pharisees.
