With three promising vaccines for COVID-19 in the pipeline, there’s still uncertainty about how effective they will be.
Albert Bourla, chairman and CEO of Pfizer Pharmaceutical – which has applied to the Food and Drug Administration for emergency use authorization for its vaccine – sat down with CBS’s Lester Holt on “Dateline NBC” for an interview that will air Thursday night.
Holt said: “And then what about the question, Albert, of even though I’ve had the protection, am I still able to transmit it to other people?” according to transcript provided by the network.
“I think this is something that needs to be examined,” Bourla said. “We are not certain about that right now with what we know.”
Biotech firm Moderna on Monday said it will ask the FDA to approve its experimental COVID-19 vaccine for emergency use. Moderna said new data showed the vaccine was 94.1% effective in its late-stage clinical trial, just under Pfizer’s efficacy rate of 95%. . . .
“We believe that our vaccine will provide a new and powerful tool that may change the course of this pandemic and help prevent severe disease, hospitalizations, and death,” Moderna CEO Stéphane Bancel said in a statement. . . .
The FDA’s vaccine advisory committee is set to meet on December 17 to review data from the two companies.
Meanwhile, a third vaccine is also in the pipeline. AstraZeneca and Oxford University last week said their jointly created COVID-19 vaccine has proven to be up to 90% effective and the makers claim it will be easier to distribute. . . .
Stephen Hoge, president of Moderna, said that while there may be side effects from any vaccine, they greatly outweigh the danger of the virus.
“Certainly when we’re seeing efficacy 94%-95%, there’s great reasons for hope that these vaccines are going to be very effective and beat back the virus, but there’s a chance that a year from now, three years from now, we’ll see that people need a booster. Not dissimilar to what we see with other vaccines,” he said.

Lord thank you for the wisdom you are giving the researchers and doctors who are so dedicatedy trying to fight this awful disease. May we be otherinded as we accept the slight unknown risk of the vaccinate fight the know risk if the virus.
Dear Jesus, let us consider the question of whether or not to be vaccinated with a prayer that you give all of us Your wisdom, knowledge and discernment in how to proceed.
But above all else regarding any and all vaccines, Lord, protect us, protect our health, and protect our eroding sovereignty over our own bodies- all vaccines should be VOLUNTARY for every person!!! Please strike down and bind every law that would mandate any person to have foreign particles injected (or otherwise administered) into our bodies against our will, our conscience, & our beliefs; strike down and bind any law that would restrict our freedom of movement & travel, or our ability to participate in activities of any kind (whether social, religious, business, work, or education-related) based SOLELY on our vaccination staus. Also strike down and bind any laws that protect vaccine companies from being legally responsible for any severe consequences suffered by anyone as a result of the products they’ve created. And let every vaccine be produced, tested, and administered in an ethical, righteous, and open way.
Thank You Lord, that YOU are our Great Physician, and in You we ultimately live, move, and have our being, AMEN!
Lord Jesus, I pray that a COVID 19 vaccine will NEVER become mandatory in the United States of America! I ask You to continue our freedoms as Christians, and as Americans, to always be able to make our own decisions about this. I pray off any plans the enemy and his demons have with these vaccines, including using aborted baby cells, using RNA which has proven to change our DNA, the immunity card that socialists like Bill Gates is pressing for, etc! You are our mighty protector Lord! Let us fast, pray and educate ourselves. Let us repent and turn from our wicked ways, so that we will hear from heaven, and You will heal our land! In Jesus holy name, Amen!
I place no hope in any of these vaccines, Lord Jesus, you are our only hope. Deliver us from the false hope these people offer.
