I Prayed have prayed
Father God, You gently lead those who have young, lead us to equip our children for such a time as this. Increase our trust and faith in You and guard our words.

In what kind of world will our children grow up?  I am sure many of us have asked ourselves this question recently.

As a grandmother, I will admit this has crossed my mind at times.  Especially in this past year when I saw chaos, deception, and rage across our nation.  It is certainly not the atmosphere I would prefer for my grandchildren.

At times of uncertainty like these, I am more thankful than ever for the Word of God and the promises of God.

How do we respond in our current climate when we have small children who will be affected by it?  How do we keep them strong and protected in such a world?

First, we pray.

The earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available [dynamic in its working] (Jas 5:16, Amplified).

Secondly, we teach them the Word of God.

And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up (Dt 6:6-7).

Finally, instead of worrying, we equip them for what lies ahead.

Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it (Prv 22:6.)

Teach them and remind ourselves they were born for such a time as this.

Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you (Jer 1:5).

Before our children and grandchildren were formed in the womb GOD KNEW THEM.  He caused them to come forth at this time.  God doesn’t make mistakes and it is not a coincidence.  They were born in His timing!

We must teach them to meditate in the word of God, knowing as they do, they will have success.

This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success (Jos 1:8).

We must teach them that when there is chaos in the world, peace can still be found in the presence of God and in His promises.

And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus (Phil 4:7).

You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You (Is 26:3).

We must teach them that God is powerful, and He will work on their behalf. Remind them, through God, they can change the world!

The Lord your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love; he will exult over you with loud singing (Zeph 3:17).

I can do all things through him who strengthens me (Phil 4:13).

We must teach them to love.  First, to love God with all their heart, mind and soul. Then to love their neighbors in the same manner in which God loves them.

And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love (1 Cor 13).

We must remember, our sweet little children are no different from David, Moses, or Daniel.

Each of these mighty men of God were once someone’s child. They each had a mother and a father who loved them and wanted them to live a peaceful, successful life.  Still, they equipped them to change the world.  How do I know?  Because when their moment of destiny came, they were victorious in God.

Our children can be overcomers – if we equip them to be. They were created by God for such a time as this. To overcome every challenge that comes their way.  We must trust God in that.

Don’t be afraid for your children.  Instead raise them up fully equipped to face every obstacle in life with faith and trust in God. Do not let them see fear in you when the world seems to be going crazy.  Let them see your immovable faith in an unchanging God.  Don’t speak negative words to them in times of crisis, continue to speak the word of God.  Let them see your faith in action.

Know that God chose them to be born in this time.  He chose YOU to equip them to impact the world.  He chose YOU to teach them who they are in God and who He is in them.  Empower them to become world changers.
