“Is HE Worthy?” The question itself is extremely offensive!
To even ask anyone to question the worthiness of our LORD and Savior is egregious!
I’m so sorry you were offended because it means you missed the glorious message of the song. Even Paul in his writings would often ask a seemingly startling question just so he could give a resounding and unequivocal answer. That’s this song — of course, He IS worthy!
Would you even dare to ask our LORD JESUS to HIS face if HE is worthy?
GOD Himself said, “This is My Beloved Son in whom I AM well pleased.”
The angels in Heaven bow before HIM saying, Holy, Holy, Holy!
Only the devil causes people to question Christ’s worthiness.
Putting the devil’s evil question to music is a mistake at best . . . .
As I said, I’m sorry you’ve missed the joy of the song that proclaims His worthiness. The question is rhetorical, not heretical.
I would strongly suggest that you would pray about this.
Anybody who asks the question “Is HE Worthy?” has no idea of the price that our LORD JESUS CHRIST paid on the cross nor the agony of HIS Father as HE watched it from Heaven. There are some questions that should never be asked and your “song” is one of them. Who are you singing to? The angels in Heaven and on earth must have put their hands over their ears at the first line of that song.
