“In prosperity God is heard, and that is a blessing; but in adversity, God is seen, and that is a greater blessing.” This was said by Charles Spurgeon, a humble preacher who never lived to witness the rise of artificial intelligence and a vast network of digital infrastructure. And sustainable goals, carbon footprints, globalism — none of that was on his radar. Nonetheless, he knew that adversity would reveal God’s almighty hand to those who trust in Him.

It’s important to remember this quote when thinking about the convergence of events happening in 2024. Just recently, the World Economic Forum held its annual meeting in Davos, Switzerland, where top leaders have vowed to stop misinformation, battle fictional (?) diseases, control the climate, and even alter what it means to be human.

Future Shapers and a Future Roadmap

But all of that is only the beginning. There is more to come as the World Governments Summit meets in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, on Feb. 12–14, under the theme Shaping Future Governments. As the largest annual global gathering convenes, international organizations and leaders in government, industry, technology and banking will plan a “future roadmap” for the nations of the world. The “future shapers” attending include Klaus Schwab (chairman of the World Economic Forum), Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus (director-general of the World Health Organization), Ajay Banga (president of the World Bank), Kristalina Georgieva (managing director of the International Monetary Fund), Sam Altman (CEO of OpenAI), Alex Karp (CEO of Palantir Technologies), Eric Schmidt (former CEO of Google), and Dario Gil (director of IBM Research).

Topics to be covered include government acceleration and transformation; artificial-intelligence regulation and ethics; reimagining future economies; the future of societies and education; sustainability and global shifts; and global health.

When asked about the difference between Davos and the World Government Summit, Al Gergawi, the UAE minister of cabinet affairs, stated that Davos focuses on current crises while the World Government Summit looks ahead to the future.

Unfortunately, the COVID-19 “crisis” enabled governments around the world to take extreme measures. Medical, religious, and individual freedoms were infringed, while the powers of the global elites were heightened.

As world governments look to the future, have they learned from past mistakes?

In the midst of this, it was at the 2022 World Government Summit that Pippa Malmgren famously stated: “What underpins a World Order is always the financial system… we’re on the brink of a dramatic change where we are about to abandon the traditional system of money and accounting and introduce a new one.” Malmgren was referring to a digital banking system that could allow governments to have a “perfect record of every single transaction that happens in the economy.”

As government leaders in Dubai and Davos work on forging a society where financial habits, free speech and carbon footprints are monitored by a digital economy, the WHO and the United Nations are prepping for two of their biggest events in 2024–the 77th World Health Assembly, to be held May 27–June 1, and the Summit of the Future, scheduled for September 22–23.

The World Health Assembly: Poised to Control All Health Care?

The World Health Assembly is lining up all their ducks for their annual meeting by “moving at unprecedented speed to push at least 300+ amendments of the Working Group of the International Health Regulations (WGIHR).” Liberty Counsel warns that these amendments and the Pandemic Treaty could give the WHO “legally binding control and authority over the vast majority of the world’s population,” because “the proposed ‘treaty’ will change the WHO from an advisory organization to one whose directives are legally binding.”

The WHO wants control over travel, trade, imports, exports, production of goods, medicines, vaccines, and medical supplies. They also want to censor “misinformation” and “disinformation.”

As the WHO keeps warning of a mysterious Disease X, it doesn’t take long to put the puzzle pieces together that these “agreements” are the infrastructure they need to make their vision of One Health a reality.

Several months later, at the Summit of the Future, leaders will adopt a “pact for the future,” which asserts that “no one will be left behind.” In the Zero Draft of the pact, they affirm, “we will accelerate the use of science and digital technologies to help us to realize the 2030 Agenda.” This includes pursuing equitable global economic governance by reforming the international financial architecture. Additionally, “bold, ambitious, accelerated, just, and transformative actions” are needed for their “rescue plan” because of evolving biological risks, which could be caused by “natural, accidental or deliberate release.” Furthermore, the pact requires a “strong science-policy-society interface in order to build trust in science,” and the U.N. must play a stronger role.

Global Governance and the Transformation of Society

Other areas that this pact addresses include mandatory sustainability reports for large corporations, sustainability ratings, regulation of bank and nonbank entities, and the sexual and reproductive health of young people.

All these meetings have a common vision: to use global governance for the transformation of society. Of course, this is all unfolding under the direction of leaders who have histories that actually fly in the face of human freedom and democracy. The director-general of the World Health Organization (the U.N.’s health arm), is Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, a man who has close ties to the Chinese Communist party, as well as the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Before becoming secretary-general of the U.N., António Guterres was secretary-general of the Portuguese Socialist Party (1992–2002) and president of the Socialist International (1999–2005).

2024 should be a year in which intercessors focus on praying for world leaders to boldly reject globalism, which is communism rebranded. They should also contact their legislators and local authorities, stressing that U.S. sovereignty cannot be given away to “global shapers.” Most of all, this battle must be taken to Jesus. There is no higher global authority than He.

And in the days of those kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that shall never be destroyed, nor shall the kingdom be left to another people. It shall break to pieces all these kingdoms and bring them to an end, and it shall stand forever … (Daniel 2:44 ESV).

Let’s pray now:

Lord Jesus, Your global kingdom is the only one that is just and sustainable. Even as world leaders forge ahead with plans of their own devising, we can see You working behind the scenes. You are king over adversity and sovereign over all manmade plans. Help us pray and act according to Your will.
