In a letter to his GOP colleagues sent Sunday, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy discussed this week’s one-year anniversary of the Jan. 6 Capitol riot. The leader once again condemned the actions of those who broke the law, but also warned that Democrats in Congress will continue to leverage the events as a “partisan political weapon to further divide our country…”
“Our Capitol should never be compromised and those who broke the law deserve to face legal repercussions and full accountability,” McCarthy wrote. “Unfortunately, one year later, the majority party seems no closer to answering the central question of how the Capitol was left so unprepared and what must be done to ensure it never happens again. Instead, they are using it as a partisan political weapon to further divide our country…”
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has announced a several events this week at the to mark the anniversary of the riot including lawmakers’ eyewitness testimonials, a prayer vigil with members of the Senate. However, the House is not in session until next week.
McCarthy’s continued criticism of Democrats’ handling of the post-January 6 investigation dates back to Pelosi rejecting his five picks to serve on the select committee…
Pelosi responded by calling the panel a “beautiful committee” that is ” bipartisan, patriotic, solemn and serious.”
McCarthy has repeatedly questioned whether the committee is capable of reaching an unbiased conclusion pertaining to its investigation, and if the panel is really focused on the question of the security failures that left the Capitol vulnerable on January 6, as opposed to a partisan investigation into various members of the Trump administration and their congressional allies.
Many news outlets are reporting that the January 6 anniversary will be an opportunity for the Democrats to pass sweeping voting ‘rights’ legislation. How are you praying for Congress this week? Please share your insight and discernment in the comments.

Any issue can be wielded as a “political weapon,” and both parties are well practiced at it.
The main goal of this investigation is to assure that such an event does not happen again.

I don’t think it should have taken a year for an investigation. The US is very slow to determine fault or give the public answers. Is there an ongoing investigation regarding the protests last summer or the current “smash and grab” incidents plaguing businesses? Those involved are on camera, so why not?
I pray for the filibuster to continue as this is the only way to keep the party in charge from passing whatever legislation they please.

It is said, hindsight is 20/20. Trump holding a rally anywhere near the Capitol after the 2020 election was not a wise decision. When the enemy has you in his sights, one tactic he uses is “guilty by association”. Just being in proximity to the riots gave the enemy an opportunity to link Trump to the bad behavior. With the media and democrats in the house, it was fairly easy to snowball this event. The enemy develops a narrative, then feeds it to keep it going and get all he can out of it to steal, kill, and destroy.
Oh Father, give the leaders we support wisdom and discernment to open their eyes to the tactics of the enemy. It is only through the power of the Holy Spirit that can reveal these spiritual matters. May they learn from this mistake and become strong to outwit the enemy. I also pray for discernment for all off us intercessors praying for our nation. May your Spirit guide us to focus on the real enemy and not get sidetracked on issues that only bring fear and confusion. Mature us in our sufferings. May our unanswered prayers drive us to seek you more and surrender ourselves. We ask for your divine wisdom to move through this minefield of information being thrust on us on a daily basis. I speak peace, quiet and solitude be given to each and every intercessor so we may understand the mind of Christ who lives in us and works through us. May our hope be in You. Oh God, our Just Judge, I pray that people will not be deceived about the events of January 6th by those who have been using it as a political weapon. I pray that more and more of the truth about that day will be exposed. Make known the truth about why additional security was turned down when offered to Pelosi ahead of time, and about any who infiltrated the crowd to purposely instigate the riot.
We need to see real justice done on behalf of those who have been wrongfully held for the past year on trumped up charges.

We also need to pray for January 7, 2022 this Friday. The vaccine and test mandate OSHA wants as ordered by the Biden Regime goes to Supreme court. I was alerted to January 6 in prayer recently 2x and then led to a passage in James 5.
I continue to pray for God to have mercy on us all. I stand in identification repentance on behalf of this unauthorized administration and the subs of our nation. I call them that because that is what the Lord told me they were – “Unauthorized by Him and all of heaven.” My hope is in the Lord and I remind God of His covenant with those who are humbling themselves, confessing, repenting and turning from evil. We are all aware that a house divided against itself cannot stand. We must pray for our elected leaders irrespective of their party affiliation to uplift the course of national unity by representing the constitution and values that taught all citizens the importance of the Union as one nation under God.

There is no power greater that PRAYER Power for “God changes the times and the seasons: He removes kings, and sets up kings: he gives wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding” (Daniel 2:21).

The Speaker of the House has chosen a Select Committee to protect her own interests. I believe the Sergeant of Arms knows , ‘ who knew what and when ‘. It was Pelosi’s responsibility to protect the House, and she had information that there might be trouble and did not act on it. She needs to be questioned . Instead she is shifting blame and using the Committee to shield herself.
The Demoncrats will absolutely use Jan. 6 to politicize the events of that day and divide us further. We must take congress back for sure. If they succeed in nationalizing federal voting I’m afraid of what could transpire.
