The Customs and Border Protection shooting of Alex Pretti in Minneapolis could cause Washington to shut the government down for the second time in three months.
Senate Democrats signaled over the weekend that they would not vote for a bill that would fund the federal government through the end of the fiscal year, which contains funding for the Department of Homeland Security. CBP and Immigration and Customs Enforcement — whose agents were involved in the shooting of Renee Good — both fall under the DHS umbrella.
“After their son was killed in broad daylight, they are now forced to defend him against this administration’s lies,” Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) said on X. “It’s another reason why Senate Democrats are united in rejecting this DHS spending bill.”
The Daily Wire announced that the House has already adjourned. Representatives will likely not return in time to avert another partial shutdown should legislators in the upper chamber reach a deal.
Democrats have been opposed to President Trump’s immigration agenda for months now, although the recent deaths of two protestors have renewed opposition and attacks against ICE and CBP. It’s unclear exactly how a shutdown would impact these departments, however, considering that much of the Trump administration’s immigration agenda was passed through last year’s One Big Beautiful Bill.
This also comes after Democrats in the Senate triggered the longest government shutdown in American history last year. The partial shutdown, triggered by an argument over Obamacare subsidies, saw the government shut down for 43 days.
Friday is the spending bill deadline. Let’s pray that our lawmakers are able to come to an agreement that keeps the government open and keeps federal law enforcement funded.

What a joke Schumer and the democrats are putting law breakers and criminals above American citizens. I pray that God expose their hatred of We The People and of our God. The protesters that have died made a bad choice to take action against legal officers enforcing laws passed by congress. I pray for their souls but they have to answer for their sins. I will continue to include the democrats in my prayers that they break free of the demonic spirits that have taken over their party. I trust in God’s will.

I pray in Jesus name that You defeat the enemy of our souls and all who work in the demonic realm. The satanic tries to cause division and chaos but You are a God of order and peace. Let the light of Jesus shine brightly driving back the darkness and overcoming it.
You know exactly what happened in both incidents of protestors being shot. I ask You to reveal the facts and the truth.
In Jesus name I also pray that You dismantle the organized and funded riots that seek to tear our nation apart. I pray that their communication lines and their ability to organize be destroyed.
The foundation of Your throne is righteousness and justice so we ask You to rule and reign over America. Your word says “Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD”.

There are many less sensational ways Trump (without Schumer’s help) could curb immigration but they would hurt many of Trump’s business elite friends who rely on cheap labor and the like. So instead of holding them accountable for their hiring practices of undocumented workers and the like, he is using spectacle to distract the MAGA base and undermining the agenda in the long run.
Look up his most recent interview with Laura Ingraham where he states his support for H1B’s and foreign (documented) high skilled workers as well as his plans to invite hundreds of thousands MORE Chinese students to enroll in US universities under a new ‘deal’ with Xi Jinping.
There goes national security with H1B’s, imported workers, and non-native Chinese students in US universities…
I pray Father thatcShumerd voice be shut down. That call the words against USA citizens be reversed and therapy set for ice the enemy will be caught in and ice will be free to do what they are supposed to do. Protect them and give them all they have need of personally and in their jobs.
FATHER GOD please remove Chuck Schumer from Congress asap. Let the photos of him with a child on Epstein Island that I saw be made public. Expose him and others in congress and send laborers to him and others in congress for salvation in JESUS NAME. Amen.
Father God, please insure that the heathens who invaded Your House of Worship in Minneapolis MN are charged, tried, and jailed. This includes Don Lemon and the do nothing mayors, district attorneys, and other attorneys supporting invaders of Holy spaces. Supposedly the Bill of Rights insures freedom of Religion in the United States. Amen.
