President Donald Trump said on Feb. 1 that Iran’s decision on a nuclear deal will determine whether Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s prediction that a U.S. attack could lead to a regional war is accurate.

“Of course he would say that,” Trump told reporters at Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida.

“But we have the biggest, most powerful ships in the world over there, very close, couple of days, and hopefully we’ll make a deal. If we don’t make a deal, then we’ll find out whether or not he was right.”

In June of last year, the U.S. carried out “Operation Midnight Hammer,” an operation designed to cripple Iran’s nuclear capabilities. More recently, on January 28, President Trump called on Iran to “MAKE A DEAL,” threatening a “far worse” attack if his demands were not met. Meanwhile, according to the Times, Khamenei insisted that Iran “does not seek to attack any country but ‘will strike a strong blow against anyone who attacks and harasses’ its territory.”

Following anti-government protests and Iranian violence against protestors, President Trump deployed a massive armada to the Middle East. While it isn’t clear exactly what he’s planning, it is clear that the President is prepared for whatever Iran decides to do. Speaking of which, the Times notes that Iranian Supreme National Security Council secretary Ali Larijani confirmed on Saturday that arrangements for negotiations are underway.

There is so much going on in Middle East, and all of it seems to come back to Iran. As protests continue and the United State’s national security hangs in the balance, let’s pray for God’s will to be done in this Islamic nation!
